Samsung Electronics has made the Korean release of its mobile phone supporting T-DMB services. The company focuses attention on the TPEG function (Transport Protocol Experts Group), which provides timely info on traffic situation and possible traffic jams. The function involves T-DMB.
According to the manufacturer, there are portable players with TPEG except for mobile phones. The info on the traffic situation is renewed every 5 minutes via T-DMB channels. The users can even compare route variants with the displayed traffic info. Naturally this isn’t the only application of T-DMB in the model, it can display TV programs.

Last month, Sony and Sony Ericsson announced a join development on a new LCD display screen for mobile phone with RealityMAX engine, in order to built a "Bravia" mobile phone. The leaked mobile phone picture is posted on esato forum today which is said to be a Bravia DVB-H mobile phone with a sliding keypad.

LG Electronics presented the ‘Shine Designer’s Edition’, which is a special limited edition LG Shine decorated with Korean font. The handset is designed by Li Sang Bong, a well known Korean designer. It features the original text of a poem of Yoon Dong Joo engraved on the back of the mobile phone. FYI, Yoon Dong Joo is knows as one of the most beloved poets in Korea.

Nokia and composer Brian Eno today announced a charity auction to benefit the Keiskamma Aids Treatment program and The World Land Trust. Starting on January 8th 2007 and ending on Febuary 12th 2007, a total of ten
Nokia 8800 Sirocco Brian Eno Signature Edition mobile phones, individually numbered and engraved with Brian Eno's signature, will be auctioned online with all proceeds going directly to both charities. A certificate of authenticity will also accompany each auctioned phone.
