At the current ITU Telecom World 2006 in Hong Kong Samsung Electronics has unveiled its new smartphone powered by Windows OS, the
Samsung SGH-i718 for the Chinese market. The device has been recently approved by the FCC.
The handset features a 2.0 megapixel camera with auto focus, a micro SD slot, business card reader, digital power amplifier, MS Office View and Edit, handfree speaker handwriting and Chinese voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity, “VibTonzâ€, and real voice dictionary. Too bad that we have to wait since Samsung has not planned to release the phone outside of China, but it wouldn’t be too long until the
Samsung SGH-i718 makes its way to the U.S. Now, we just have to wait.

The LG KG810 was the folder-style answer for users that love the look and feel of LG's Chocolate range of handsets, but don't like slider phones. LG has taken the wraps of an updated version of the KG810, known as the
LG U830, at ITU Telecom World in Hong Kong this week.
A 2.0 megapixel camera is on board to capture life going by, and viewing your photos is a pleasure thanks to the 2.2" QVGA TFT internal display. LG has included 185MB of on board memory, but this only goes a short way to alleviating the need for a memory card slot. The
LG U830 is already being sold through network operator 3 in Italy, Hong Kong, and the UK, but so far no other markets have been announced.

The second hybrid between iDEN and CDMA is a reality, as Sprint Nextel now offers the
Motorola ic402 on its webpage. The new phone is based on the ic502, but removes the external display and also doesn’t meet military 810f specification, which the bigger model did. It means it is plain clamshell with low-end specifications. Sprint Nextel offers it for $40 after the rebates, which is $20 less than the ic502.

Samsung has launched a new phone in Korea which looks more of a gaming console than a mobile phone. The
Samsung SCH-B550 looks really attractive with sliding screen and joypad making it a complete entertainment device. It has 3D gaming support, DMB, Bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera and a music player.
