Pantech C600 is a new 3G cell phone launched by Pantech in Mexico at TELCEL communication operator. It is a flip phone model optimized for multimedia support with MP3 music player, video player, video calling, Bluetooth wireless transfers, and expandable memory.
It comes in Blue and Red, in combination with white and black, being the first Pantech’s 3G model available in Mexico. These colors were chosen after surveying Mexicans about their tastes.

“Pantech Group has surveyed the taste and life style of local customers and reflected them in planning and development of the product. C600 is designed as primary colors to meet the needs fully in the Mexican market where demand of 3G is increasing. Pantech Group is making effort to take leadership in Mexican 3G handset market,” declared Pantech.

The previous model released at the end of 2007 was promoted using the image of the popular RBD group, and was a success. The C510 is a music phone available in 4 colors, and was the base model for the C600 3G cell phone.

The latest cell phone works on UMTS dual-band 850/1900MHz frequencies, supporting quad-band GPRS/EDGE, and measures 90.3 x 44.8 x 18.7 mm at 77.4 grams. It features a main 1.8-inch TFT display of 260K colors and with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels, while the external CSTN display of 96 x96 pixels is a 65K-color.
The built-in camera is a 1.3MP and the one for video calls is a 0.3MP VGA type, while the handset also comes with support for MP3, AAC and AAC+ audio formats, MPEG4/H.263/WMA/WMV videos, allowing the user to add more storage via a microSD card.
It has stereo Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

Pantech C600 is an entry-level cell phone to be used for basic applications, and integrates a 930mAh Li-Ion battery lasting up to 3 hours of talk time and 250 hours of standby. The built-in camera has LED flash and self-timer for taking pictures on the go, stored in the 25MB internal memory. Mexicans can use it to access the Internet via WAP, set picture IDs and specific ringtones for the 800 contacts in the phone book, send emails, play with applications like alarm, calendar, calculator, stopwatch, world clock, converter and memo, or talk on the phone using the speaker capability.
