Although definitely not a PHP handset, as it was firstly believed, information on Sony Ericsson's gaming phone has leaked, being high chances that the company will bring out this device in February. Such a device is not a surprise from the company, keeoing in mind the fact that Sony Ericsson games boss Peter Ahnegard confirmed at the recent Leipzig gaming conference the company's work in this way, although he couldn't put an exact date on when this should happen.

Sony Ericsson already has two lines of phones aiming at specific targets, its Walkman and Cyber-shot series, thus huge amount of resources would have to be cut down from these first two in order to start a third one. Also, strong competitors have also started working on bringing their own gaming phones, Nokia's line of N-Gage phones pushing Sony Ericsson's desire to keep up with them.

Presenting a gaming phone would mean that Sony Ericsson reached an evolved state in the game developing process and it is considering a time limit for putting details in place and bringing it out to the public. A date is vague, but Peter Ahnegard's statement assures us that a gaming phone will come in the future.
