A Mobile Phone and a Music Player: Samsung Serenata
Posted by: Sierra in Samsung
Serenata is the successor of Samsung Serene, another innovative result of the partnership between Samsung and Bang & Olufsen.

It was designed by David Lewis to resemble with an oval stone on the seashore.
Its design features a navigational click-wheel mounted above the 2.4" LCD display, and very few buttons.
Anything, from text messaging to music selection, is controlled by the wheel or the integrated touch screen.
The music player is the main characteristic of the phone that has a speaker system integrated, and support for MP3, WMA, and AAC audio files.
The user can store about 1,000 of songs, downloaded over-the-air, in the 4GB internal memory, and listen the favorite songs at a sound quality which is promised to bring rich bass and zero distortion, at high volume, because of the Bang & Olufsen-patented ICEpower amplification.
If the user needs to relax listening music with no disruptions, he/she can switch on PureMusic mode which cuts off any contact while the music plays.

Serenata works with GSM networks in the 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz bands, and with HSDPA services on 3G networks.
Although the phone doesn’t come with camera, it supports video playback.
Also there will be no WLAN capability, memory card slot or games, but this is compensated by the fact that it comes with a collection of special nature-inspired ringtones, 1,000 phone address entries, Bluetooth 2.0 incorporated with A2DP, USB 2.0, SMS, MMS, and Email messaging, and WAP 2.0/xHTML browser.
We expect the phone to appear sometime in November, the price being still unknown.
