Back in the third decade of last month we told you about two handsets that were proudly released by Cricket for the American people out there: the Kyocera S1300 and the A100. It seems that the provider is keen on selling affordable devices, because there’s another one announced to immediately start selling: the simple Samsung cell phone called SCH-r211.

This is a simple bar phone which is said to have a sleek and modern design and an easy-to-use interface. A very important thing is that the phone is designed to support the download of all sorts of files, like ringtones, wallpapers, games and applications (they can be downloaded through Apps and Cricket Games).
“The 3211 is an extremely attractive and durable device for customers who want easy access to all the services and features they need to conduct their mobile lifestyles”, said Jeff Toig, the vice president of Product Marketing for Cricket. In addition, he said that “the r211 brings the Samsung brand and high value to Cricket’s sub-$100 retail category and is an excellent way for customers to take advantage of Cricket’s unlimited plans”.

As far as the features are concerned, here’s what you can find on this phone’s board: CDMA 800Mhz and PCS 1900Mhz bands, a 1.5 inch CSTN display with a resolution of 128x128 pixels and 65k colors, USB connection, HTML browser, Instant Messaging and an internal memory of only 2MB. There are no details about a camera or the possibility of expanding the capacity storage via microSD cards.
The phone measures 4.07 x 1.77 x 0.59 inches and provides up to 3.5 hours of talk time and up to 325 hours of stand-by time.
If you’re interested in purchasing this simple Samsung cell phone, you can immediately go grab it from Cricket retail stores and dealers for a price of $89.
