Another Palm Pre release date

Yes, you read it right: here we have another Palm Pre release date. It’s just that this time is for the Canadian market which will also be blessed with the presence of this highly-anticipated device. Therefore, Canadian cell phone customers should consider themselves to be fortunate people, because the Palm Pre will finally head to their country, sometimes in the near future.

It seems that the Palm Pre, based, of course, on the webOS mobile platform, will make its debut in Canada in the second semester of this year. Another piece of good news is that it will be available on 3G high-speed mobile networks. Yes, this is a good guess: Bell Mobility is the provider to sell it, on a exclusive basis, as a matter of fact.

“We’re excited to bring Pre to Canada with Bell Mobility”, said Brodie Keast, the Senior Vice President of Marketing for Palm. “We’ve seen enormous interest from mobile operators worldwide and fully expect to continue to expand distribution for Pre, putting it within reach of more and more customers”.

Because usually such an announcement is accompanied by all sorts of statements that are full of courtesy, here we have the answer of the Bell Mobility team, coming from the Senior Vice President of Products for Bell Mobility, Adel Bazerghi: “Bell is excited to be only the second carrier to announce the 3G Pre. With the unique user experience of the world’s first webOS phone, running on the country’s largest 3G network, we’re confident that Canadians will embrace Pre as the phone for their lives today”.

It’s no surprise that the companies are very happy to have joined this partnership, but, as you can imagine, Canadians are those who will be the most fortunate ones. They will have at their disposal a device stuffed with features like EV-DO connectivity, a multi-touch display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, GPS functionality, Wi-Fi, a full QWERTY keyboard, the WebOS platform, which is already famous, with its Palm Synergy.

Unfortunately, there is no price involved in the news.
