LOHAS. I’m reading one, I’m reading twice, I’m staring at these five letters and I’m past my Latin, that’s for sure. I feel such an ignorant for not knowing, but the hope that I’m not the only one makes me feel a little bit better.



But now I do, because I made some research (it wasn’t difficult, a simple Google search made it all) and I found that the word is actually an acronym coming from Lifestyles of Health & Sustainability. More than that, LOHAS is an entire market segment that has its focus on aspects like health, fitness, the environment that people seem to be so very interested in these days, personal development, sustainable living and social justice.



You might wonder now what in earth LOHAS has to do with a green cell phone. But it has and you’ll see how. For those who adhere to LOHAS, here’s a concept phone that you will surely be interested in: the Aqua Liquid. Designed by Sean Park, the green cell phone is based on liquid fuel cells, which makes it an eco-friendly device.



The phone is made of recyclable components and I’m sure you’re happy to know that once your handset becomes history you can recycle it. In addition, the display uses the E-Ink technology, which helps you save not only battery life, but also talk time.



Unfortunately, the Aqua Liquid is just a concept for the moment.
