BitDefender has released the BitDefender Mobile Security v2 software for your mobile device that runs on Symbian or Microsoft Windows Mobile platform.
According to BitDefnder’s press release, the software has been improved to fight against mobile device’s security threats and it is a light and easy to use tool that protects your mobile on the go.

As key features, the company mentioned non-stop virus protection, on-demand scan and virus removal, low resources consumption and fast updates via GPRS or your own PC, from BitDefender Lab.
To install this advanced protection, you have to do it through a mobile Internet connection or using the PC application.

All that you need as system requirements are a Windows Mobile Pocket PC versions 2002 or higher, Windows Mobile Smartphone versions 2002 or higher, Symbian 60, (7.x/8.x), or Symbian 80 (7.x).
Unfortunately, the software is not compatible with phones based on Series60 3rd Edition such as Symbian 9.x. and these models include Nokia 3250, 5500, 6290, E50, E60, E70, N91, and N95.

The PC must have a Pentium MMX 200 MHz or higher processor, minimum 64MB of RAM Memory (128MB Recommended), minimum 40MB available hard disk space, Windows 2000 / XP OS, Internet Explorer 5.0 (or higher), Microsoft ActiveSync (for Windows Mobile), Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 (or higher), and Nokia PC Suite v6.6 or higher (for Nokia devices with Symbian OS).
