The first GSM phone with an 8 megapixel camera was finally launched: C905 Sony Ericsson. C905 undoubtedly tries to give you all that you want. Despite the phone’s large design, it is very attractive.



As expected from a new and improved model, the Sony Ericsson C905 looks good. This mobile phone comes in three colors: black, silver and gold. Having a slider case made of combination between resistant plastic and metal, it measures 104 x 49 x 18 mm in dimensions and 136 grams in weight. As we said, even if this cell phone looks big, after several days of usage you will get used with it.

On the front side, the C905 Sony Ericsson has a 2.4 inch TFT display with a native resolution of 240 x 320 pixels which supports 256K colors. The good news is that direct light does not affect it as strongly as in does the case of older models. The display is made of heat-treated glass and being very durable it can resists against scratches. The display, even if it’s used on some older models, it produces high-quality pictures with a great balance between contrast and brightness.



Below the display a D-pad is placed composed by 8 buttons. The first two are for Media menu and Contacts, below them, the Calling keys (Call and End), a shortcut button, a Clear key and a 4-way navigation button. Above the display you will find two shortcut keys for Photo’s menu or useful to change the shooting modes when you are in camera mode, a speaker and a secondary camera for video-calls. On the sides this phone has a universal slot for attaching headphones, connecting to a PC or charging the phone, a double volume button and some camera dedicated keys. When you slide up the mobile phone you will discover a standard numerical pad. This numerical pad has large and flat keys, very responsive when they are pressed.

On the back side the most attractive feature of this mobile phone is placed: the 8 Megapixel Camera. It can take photos at a maximum resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels and record clips at a speed of 30 fps. With a lot of features like Xenon flash, autofocus, self-portrait mirror, face and smile detection, smart contrast, image stabilization and geo-tagging you will be able to take photos with a quality that you have only dreamt about. This powerful camera is covered by a slider cover so you don’t need to be worried about scratching it.



For connectivity, we can say that the C905 Sony Ericsson is a Quad-Band GSM phone with GPRS, EDGE, 3G and HSDPA support. For other connectivity options it has Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi, TV-out, GPS and an integrated Memory Stick Micro (M2) card slot. This card slot will help you to extend the internal memory, which has only 160 MB, up to 16 GB.  The external speaker is another great aspect. With a loud volume, it produces clear sounds so you will be amazed by its musical function. The standard Li-Po 930 mAh battery is capable of keeping this mobile up for 9 hours of conversations and up to 380 hours in standby mode. Anyway, even if this cell phone is not the first handset which comes with such a lot of high-end features, it is very popular because it is the first device that comes with an 8 Megapixel camera. With a price of $309, is clear why it is so loved by people.
