“Casio Computer Co., Ltd. is a multinational electronic devices manufacturing company founded in 1946, with its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. Casio is best known for its calculators, audio equipment, PDAs, cameras, musical instruments, and watches. In 1957 Casio released the world’s first entirely electric compact calculator†( Wikipedia).

After this brief history of the Japanese company, which I knew only for its watches, to be honest, let me tell you that Casio and KDDI have just announced a brand new Casio cell phone, known under the name of CA001. The device has an integrated piano, which is, in fact, an exclusive piano-training program. This is quite impressive, you have to admit and it’s the perfect way for a person to be attracted into the musical spheres. The software was designed by another company that people know very well, Yamaha, which is a high quality guarantee.
The new Casio cell phone comes equipped with a 3.1 inch swivel IPS LCD display (touch sensitive) that opens up to reveal the hidden alphanumeric keypad, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, Ir simple, Bluetooth connectivity, e-wallet support, 1Seg digital TV support, audio/video-on-demand and an internal memory of 500MB that can be increased with the help of a microSD card of up to 2GB.

Available in three colors, white, yellow and brown, the clamshell phone measures 50 x 109 x 17.8 millimeters (when closed) and weighs approximately 122 grams. Even if KDDI hopes to release the CA001 sometime this spring, there are no details yet about pricing and availability.
