Those who are always informed on each and every apparition in the mobile phone world must already know about the Sony Ericsson Idou, for example, but would probably have a huge question mark dancing in front of their eyes when hearing about the Sony Ericsson Satio.



But allow me to make things a little bit clearer than they already are. You must remember the Sony Ericsson Idou, a camera phone considered to be the flagship of the company that appeared in the spotlight at the beginning of this year, in February. Well, it seems that, after being released in Barcelona under the name of “Idou”, the phone is going to hit the market as Satio, after all.



The Satio comes with the following features: GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and UMTS/HSDPA 850/900/2100 MHz networks, a 3.5 inch TFT touchscreen display with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels, a 12.1 megapixel camera with autofocus, Xenon flash, up to 12x digital zoom, image stabilizer, face and smile detection, geo-tagging, media player with PlayNow and TrackID, Bluetooth stereo A2DP, an on-screen QWERTY keyboard, email, Exchange ActiveSync and handwriting recognition, Wi-Fi, USB, assisted GPS, Google Maps, a microSD card slot and an 8GB card which is included.



“With Satio you can enjoy any form of entertainment anytime, anywhere. Whether its music or movies you will never be more than a tap away from your favorite tracks or shows”, said Fredrik Mansson, Market Business Manager at Sony Ericsson. “Just tap directly into your favorite videos and music with the unique full touch media menu, standby panels and music player. Snapping perfect pictures also just got so simple thanks to the 12.1 megapixel camera, intuitive touch focus and Xenon flash. Share them with your nearest and dearest via your social networking site, produce huge prints and you can even comment directly on your images”.



The phone measures no more than 112 x 55 x 13.3 millimeters and weighs 126 grams. As for the availability, you should know that the Satio will come in three color versions: black, bordeaux and silver, and sometime in the last quarter of this year (most probably in October), under a price that we don’t know yet.
