iPhone has bad Signal in UK

After the big fuzz with the iPhone launch in Europe, here come the first dissatisfactions from the newly owners.
In UK people that bought the iPhone are indignant because of the bad signal quality the device receives.

All these complaints can be found on the official Apple forum, where people discuss about the bad signal from the O2 network.
On the forum are over 100 complains and more than 1000 thread visualizations.

These are a few examples:

“My iphone can barely pick up even the slightest signal, although on occasion can pick up 3 ars, only for it to drop out again. I have two other 02 phones, a Sony Erricson and a Nokia n95 with no reception problems at all,” says user lawlbaker2.

“Yes, my signal is mostly 'No Service', with the occasional one bar, despite showing coverage on the O2 site - gutted. In the past, visiting friends with O2 have had a poor signal here, but better than I am getting,” adds Darkzoo.

iPhone has bad Signal in UK“Same here. Been on Orange for 15 years and bought iPhone on Saturday with O2. Never been unable to get a signal here with Orange but have only managed one bar on rare occassons on the iPhone in 48 hrs.
Is this a fault with the phone or do O2 simply not have as good a coverage as Orange?” (user afcbdave )

Seems that this has become a serious matter. You can read more on the forum.

T-Mobile Sells Unlocked iPhones at a high Price

TMobile Sells Unlocked iPhones at a high Price

T-Mobile has decided to sell the iPhone unlocked since Vodafone did what it could to end the exclusivity over the iPhone sells.

TMobile Sells Unlocked iPhones at a high PriceSo the Iphone will be available unlocked at a price of or $1,477, just to shut up Vodafone’s mouth, and there will be also the 2-year contract at $590.

This could start an issue for Apple that was trying hard to keep the device unlocked since it was released in US, because there is no law to forbid Germans to sell the iPhones to Americans.

The sales of the unlocked versions have already started on the Internet.

The Diamond iPhone Limited Edition from Amosu

The Diamond iPhone Limited Edition

This is the luxury version of the iPhone, a superb blacky piece encrusted with tiny diamonds, which follows the special editions of this year such as the Mobiano Luminoso luxury phone, the Gold Motorola v3i with diamonds and the diamond encrusted handset from Connecty.

The Diamond iPhone Limited Edition

The latest idea comes from Amosu, specialized in mobiles customization and that works with expensive and high-quality materials from white gold to diamonds, creating even limited editions.
On this iPhone we find 420 diamonds of 5.65 carats and there are color versions available like 18 carats white gold with black sapphires, or 18 carats yellow gold with let’s say, pink and black sapphires.

The Diamond iPhone Limited Edition

I would choose white gold with pink sapphires, just to tease you, because this model will be available at a price of $41,225.

A million iPhones sold

Apple finally reached its 1 millionth sold mark, which means 13,500+ iPhones sold each day, thus 1 million phones in 74 days. A million phones at the lower 4 GB price still means $400 million in sales to a max of $700 million, that is quite impressive for the company.

Still, Apple is 9 million phones short of reaching its goal of 10 million units sold by next July. The price cut will help the company to make their goal possible, but these sales could eat into iPod sales over the holidays.

iPhone surpasses all phone sales in July

Apparently, the iPhone sold pretty well in the first month since its release, outselling the sum of all smartphone sales during July by making 1.8 percent of all mobile phone unit sales in the US. a

In the next month, the number dropped and the craze faded out, but still the device has managed to surpass the sales numbers reached by RIM, with its BlackBerry devices, Palm ones and Motorola, Nokia such phone models too.

Remarkable how the iPhone has managed to surpass all other promising entrance phones, considering the fact that it is indeed a crossover phone, since the users cannot load third-party software on the device thus it cannot be named a "smartphone".

The iPhone has been sold in an equal number to that of LG Chocolate phone, which reveals some potential for the future as well. It is believed that 4.5 million iPhones will be sold only this year and 30 million units might be reached by 2011.
