At&t Motorola Z9 Cell Phone

The <strong>AT&amp;T Motorola z9 cell phone</strong> has a nice design with a great set of features including exceptional call quality. The only thing that might stand out of the crowd might be the mahogany color. As a design looks like Motorola V9 flip phone, but just imagine you squashed it and made it a slider phone. The display on the other hand is vivid and bright, measures 2.4” and supports 262.000 colors with a pixel resolution of 320x240. Photos, text look sharp and if you want you can adjust the brightness and the backlight time.

<strong>Motorola z9 cell phone</strong> has a large toggle in the navigation area, with the OK button in the middle and surrounded by a tactile easy-to-use ring. The other buttons are a bit cramped and are not touch control, and these include two soft keys, Web browser shortcut, Talk and End buttons and the Back button. The buttons on the keypad are also in the same design as the rest; the only problem is that they lay on a slippery surface making it a bit hard for text writers.

An overall image of the buttons is that they are cramped, not that easy to use and the durability is questionable. The rest of the phone however has a solid construction and comfortable when hold in hands. Even the slider part is well-built and doesn’t feel lose at all. Measuring just 4.48 inches by 2.41 inches by 0.55 inch and weighting 4.93 ounces, <strong>AT&amp;T Motorola z9 </strong>is very light and you won’t feel it in your pocket.

On the left side of the phone are the volume rocker and a music shortcut and on the right you will find the camera shutter and the micro USB port. The camera lens and the flash are on top of the cell phone in the back. What is nice about the side controls is that they offer vibrating feedback. There are some great features offered by AT&amp;T including AT&amp;T Navigator and <strong>AT&amp;T</strong> Video Share service. You will be able to stream videos and download music. The music player offers your basic set of features including playlists, repeat and shuffle modes, bass boost and spatial audio. <strong>Motorola z9 cell phone</strong> has a 2 megapixel camera with four resolutions to choose from. Other settings refer to self-timer, silent option for the camera shutter, six color tones, five lightning options and a 8x zoom. Flash is available but no portrait mirror. Picture quality is not exceptional, it can’t be at 2 megapixels, but the overall images look nice and bright. Video is possible in three quality settings and after you can send them by MMS.

Other features of the phone include a vibrate mode, SMS and MMS, alarm clock, calendar, notes, world clock, calculator, speakerphone, voice recorder and Bluetooth. In the phone book you can add up to 2000 contacts and for each entry other six phone numbers, e-mail addresses and other contact information. You can use the three caller groups available to group your contacts and put pictures and ringtones to the caller ID. Of course you can choose to personalize your phone with a set oh themes, wallpapers, color skins, screensavers. You can download directly from the phone navigating through Opera 8.5 wireless Web browser.

Motorola Tundra Review

I have the bad habit of not remembering the name of different cell phone models that is came across in this lifetime, probably because there are so many of them. But the Motorola Tundra is not something that you forget. I thought about writing this Motorola Tundra review because there are people looking for a decent and mid-range cell phone that does not cost a lot of money, but does not come with the high end technology features either

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

This cell phone offers supports for both 2G (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) as well as 3G networks (HSDPA 850 / 1900). This cell phone has been available on the market ever since January 2009 and even if that was the period when smart phone started appearing, the Motorola Tundra was still a great success because of its good features and decent battery life. The first thing that I must mention in this Motorola Tundra review is that this cell phone measures 98 x 53.8 x 24 mm in dimensions and 107 grams in weight. It is not exactly my idea of a slim cell phone and the antenna makes it quite uncomfortable to squeeze this mobile phone into a tight pair of jeans.

Since the Motorola Tundra is a flip cell phone, it comes with both and internal and an external display. The external display measures 1.05 inches in diagonal and it has a resolution of 96 x 80 pixels. When you open the phone, you will notice a 2.2 inch display that offers support for 256K colors and which has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The memory of the phonebook will let your store 1000 contact entries and the memory of the phone is capable of displaying the last 20 dialed, received and missed calls.

The internal memory of the Motorola Tundra is 100 MB but thanks to the included microSD card slot, you can extend the memory to a maximum 4 GB. When you start nosing around the menu, you will notice that the Tundra is missing a lot of features which are common on a modern day cell phone. It does not have integrated wireless and there is no secondary camera. You do have a primary camera that has a 2 MP sensor and it is capable of taking photos at a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixel, with the ability to record videos as well..

There is also an operating system on the Motorola Tundra which is a Java based MOTOMAGX. The phone also has GPS with a-GPS support. If you ever want to use this cell phone to listen to music, there is an MP3 player included and there is also an MP3 player for watching videos and other clips. The Motorola Tundra comes with a standard Li-Ion 1130 mAh battery which is capable of keeping this cell phone on for about 5 hours and 15 minutes of talk time and about 480 hours in standby mode. It may not be the best battery performance, but this is a decent score for a mainstream cell phone.

Samsung A887 Solstice, now official

A day or two ago, I told you about a new Samsung cell phone, the latest to be added to AT&T’s range of products. It was the Samsung A887 Solstice, a mid-end device with touch sensitive capabilities that was said to start selling on August 2nd.

Now, AT&T and Samsung Mobile decided to officially announce the handset, which is presented as “a compact and fun touch screen phone”. In addition, the Solstice will give user the chance to have easy access and connection to their favorite social networking sites and to messaging features, on one hand, and multimedia features, on the other hand.

The new Samsung Solstice is based on the popular WouchWiz user interface and comes with the following list of features: quad band GSM and dual band HSDPA connectivity, a 3 inch touch sensitive display, a 2 megapixel camera, accelerometer, brand new widgets for websites like Facebook, MySpace and Yahoo! OneSearch, Bluetooth connectivity, music player, video player and a microSDHC card slot for expandable memory of no more than 16GB.

It seems the guys over Boys Genius Report were right. The handset will be sold by A&T for a price of $99.99, after a $50 mail-in rebate. All the customer has to do is to sign a contract agreement for a period of 2 years.

So, keep in mind the fact that the Samsung A887 Solstice, a touch sensitive phone, will start selling in a couple of days and I think it’s worth the bother.

AT&T made the Nokia Surge official

It’s not unusual for cell phones to first appear in the spotlight under a name and then to be given the official treatment under another name. Such situations happen on a regular basis and it’s no surprise for anyone, because rumors have a very powerful word to say when it comes to this area.

The same happened with the Nokia Mako, which we had the chance to see several weeks ago, that now appeared, once again, under the name of Nokia Surge. The device was announced by both the Finnish company and the provider that is expected to sell it, AT&T.

Being a “Symbian S60 handset”, the cell phone is actually a mixture between the social style and the smartphone capabilities, all included in a very low price.

The Nokia Surge comes with a QWERTY keyboard that slides out, browsing features that include Flash support so that users can view the websites they love most in full HTML, Facebook support using the pre-installed application called Juice Caster, quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, dual band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity (at 3.6 Mbps), a 2 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, AT&T Navigator, AT&T Mobile Music, AT&T Video Share, HTML browser with Flash support and Bluetooth connectivity.

“Designed in the U.S., this socially charged smartphone comes in a sleek slide form factor that supports social networking and messaging – and all on an open platform”, said David Petts, the Vice President and General Manager of AT&T Account, Nokia. “Together with AT&T, we’re excited to address the increasing demand for smartphones with a device that’s attractive to the customer as it is to his or her wallet”.

The phone is available starting July 19th for a price of $79.99, a price that the user will get if he’s willing to sign a contract agreement for a period of two years.

A new karma definition

I’m aware of the fact that people’s mind goes to one direction and one direction only when they hear the word “karma”. According to Wikipedia, “Karma is the concept of ‘action’ or ‘deed’ in Indian religions understood as that which causes the entire cycle of cause and effect (i.e. the cycle called saṃsāra) originating in ancient India and treated in Hindu, Jain, Sikh and Buddhist philosophies”.

No one would blame you for not thinking about the new Motorola device that has just been announced by the company, in collaboration with AT&T. Those who are interested in cell phones more than they are in Indian religion should know that the Karma QA1 first appeared in the spotlight at the beginning of this year, back in February.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

According to the company, the phone is aimed at teenagers and young adults, being a quick messaging and social networking device. The features of the Karma QA1 include text messaging, instant messaging, easy access, directly from the homescreen, to Facebook and MySpace, a QWERTY keyboard that slides out, a display with high resolution and access to AT&T’s 3G network, the CrystalTalk technology, for a better sound without the background noise, a 2.0 megapixel camera, JuiceCaster support, a service gives the user the chance to connect with friends and share all sorts of pictures and videos with them, 3.5mm headphone jack.

“Unique visitors to Facebook from AT&T’s MEdia Net portal grew over 100% in 2008”, said Michael Woodward, the Vice President of Mobile Phone Portofolio, at AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “Karma’s one-click access to Facebook and MySpace will resonate with customers who are committed to keeping up with social networking sites on the go”.

If you are interested in this new karma definition, then you should know that the Motorola phone is expected to become available starting June 28th in select AT&T stores or online, for a price of $79.99 after a mail-in rebate as long as you’re willing to sign a contract agreement for two years.
