BenQ isn’t a constant figure when it comes to the mobile phones world, as you probably know by now, but this doesn’t mean it’s not able to come up with impressive devices every once in a while. The Taiwan based company has recently presented to the public a brand new phone (it is actually a smartphone) which is said to be the winner of the iF Product Design Award 2009.
I don’t know if the phone is to become available sometime in the future, but what’s for sure is that it has a nickname, especially conceived for such an event. Called BenQ Royal, the candybar is said to be “a smart phone with powerful functions including a personalized interface and internet live messenger to make both mobility and communication easierâ€.

When it comes to the features this new BenQ phone comes equipped with, they include a color display, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and a sensor area which is placed below the LCD screen. It seems that this area is touch-sensitive and allows users to turn the pages of all sorts of e-books and to browse the photo and music files much easier.
The bad thing is that we don’t have, at least not for the moment, other details at our disposal, concerning the features of this cell phone. In the given context, knowing when the Royal is expected to become available and under which price, is something like a dream. This is why we should just wait and see.

The T80 Smartphone which will be showcased at Mobile Phone Congress 2008 is Near Field Communication-enabled and features access to home security systems as well as electronic ticketing for public transportation and other electronic payment capabilities.

It is the world’s first Windows Mobile 6-based Smartphone NFC-enabled and offers a user experience similar with that of a personal computer, and dual storage options for the NFC data which allows users to store transactions and security information on a microSD card or directly on the SIM.
