A simple Samsung cell phone available via Cricket



Back in the third decade of last month we told you about two handsets that were proudly released by Cricket for the American people out there: the Kyocera S1300 and the A100. It seems that the provider is keen on selling affordable devices, because there’s another one announced to immediately start selling: the simple Samsung cell phone called SCH-r211.

This is a simple bar phone which is said to have a sleek and modern design and an easy-to-use interface. A very important thing is that the phone is designed to support the download of all sorts of files, like ringtones, wallpapers, games and applications (they can be downloaded through Apps and Cricket Games).

“The 3211 is an extremely attractive and durable device for customers who want easy access to all the services and features they need to conduct their mobile lifestyles”, said Jeff Toig, the vice president of Product Marketing for Cricket. In addition, he said that “the r211 brings the Samsung brand and high value to Cricket’s sub-$100 retail category and is an excellent way for customers to take advantage of Cricket’s unlimited plans”.

As far as the features are concerned, here’s what you can find on this phone’s board: CDMA 800Mhz and PCS 1900Mhz bands, a 1.5 inch CSTN display with a resolution of 128x128 pixels and 65k colors, USB connection, HTML browser, Instant Messaging and an internal memory of only 2MB. There are no details about a camera or the possibility of expanding the capacity storage via microSD cards.

The phone measures 4.07 x 1.77 x 0.59 inches and provides up to 3.5 hours of talk time and up to 325 hours of stand-by time.

If you’re interested in purchasing this simple Samsung cell phone, you can immediately go grab it from Cricket retail stores and dealers for a price of $89.

Cheap prepaid cell phones from Cricket



If the American people had every reason to be sad because of the decision that Nokia took according the availability of the 8208, the new CDMA cellular phone released by the Finnish company and targeted to markets outside the United States, they should now be happy with the cheap prepaid cell phones that Cricket has prepared for all of you.

They are called Kyocera S1300 and Cricket A100, being two simple candybars sold by the American provider at affordable prices.

Kyocera S1300 comes with the following features: Mobile Web, which allows users to download ringtones and graphics and to browse the Web, Cricket games and applications, SMS, voice memos, speakerphone, HAC-compliance and TTY/TDD support for hearing-impaired. The device provides up to 200 minutes of talk time and up to 200 hours of stand-by time.

The Cricket A100, on the other hand, features an internal antenna, a 1.8 inch LCD screen with a resolution of 128x160 pixels and 65k colors, speech recognition for handsfree dialing, 2.5mm mono headset jack, a mini USB charging port, vibrate, speakerphone, Mobile Web, games and applications, and an internal memory of only 31MB. Measuring 4.44x1.94x0.55 inches and weighing approximately 2.47 ounces, the phone provides up to 4.5 hours of talk time and up to 250 minutes of stand-by time.

These two new cheap prepaid cell phones are available only through select Cricket stores and dealers in Chicago, retailing at a price of $89.99. However, both devices are expected to start selling soon in all Cricket markets.

Cricket launched the first CDMA Advanced Wireless Services cell phone under the name UTStarcom CDM7126, a tri-band model capable to work on PCS.
The distributor is recognized for offering affordable wireless services and mobile phones with many features including instant picture messaging, unlimited text, Mobile Web, games, wallpapers and ringtones.

UTStarcom CDM7126 sports a sleek metallic clamshell design with external indicators in charge with alerting the user when someone is calling or when a message is received.
It has Bluetooth support, voice recognition, and Cricket Mobile Web used for browsing for ringtones and graphics for download.
The cell phone is available at $35 monthly plan with unlimited wireless calling and with no contracts or credit checks.
