Hop-on develops and markets wireless phones and accessories for emerging markets and other domestic carriers and is best known for developing the world’s first disposable and recyclable cell phone: HOP 1800. The company announced that its HOP1890, the ChitterChatter for seniors, is available in the United States on AT&T’s network and in Europe.

The ChitterChatter phone provides a call center available 27/7 where operators can make calls, provide directory assistance and help with setup. With GPS/Enhanced Location-Based-Services the locator phone provides a unique and affordable way for seniors, or those with special medical needs, to stay connected and in contact with each other.

The HOP1890 has a Dual-band 850/1900MHz in the US or 900/1800MHz for Europe and offers 300 minutes of talk time and 300 hours of standby time. As far as the GPS feature is concerned, parents or caretakers simply use the Internet or any phone with SMS capabilities to quickly identify the location of the device in approximately 1 minute. So, by just touching one button, seniors and kids stay in touch with close family and friends or send their location. The phone features a large, bright screen with large text that is easy to read and bigger buttons that are easy to push, so dialing and making calls is easier than ever on the HOP1890.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

“This is an affordable way for seniors to feel safe and confident. We need to take care of our elders and the ChitterChatter phone gives them the freedom to keep in touch without the burden of an expensive phone”, said Hop-on CEO, Peter Michaels. In addition, the phone is provided with a panic button located on the back of the phone. During the initial setup of the phone, the consumer will setup their choice of emergency contact, so that, in case of an emergency, once the panic button is pushed, that specific person is called immediately and an operator will remain on the line, hands free, until help arrives.

There is no word on pricing and launch date yet, but HOP1890 will increase the range of AT&T cell phones sold exclusively on this network.

“Our new series of 1800 phones will debut into all markets worldwide,” said Peter Michaels, President and CEO of Hop-on. “We will have market presence throughout the globe with our high-end technology PDA phone to our low end phone that is, well, that is really just a phone. Since the announcement of our $10USD ‘ Anti iPhone‘, we have had inquiries from distributors and carriers from over 30 countries.”

“Since Apple is launching their new 3G iPhone next Monday, maybe I can talk to Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple and see if he’ll buy our $10 phone and include it as a giveaway in their packaging,” added Peter Michaels. “This way, if you drop your 3G iPhone in the water, you can use the backup to call Apple for another $500 phone. They can call it the Back-up iPhone! Seriously, the launch of our new phones is an exciting time for Hop-on; we will penetrate the market worldwide in all price points. We look forward to this next phase of our new innovative phones.”

Hop-On is one of the world’s famous wireless phones and accessories developer but also the first prepaid disposable phones manufacturer. It also provides software for cell phones so you can stream live interactive feed from legal jurisdictions to play poker, blackjack, roulette and baccarat.
Recently the company launched the Hop1800 model worldwide. This cell phone is the world’s cheapest, available at just $10 in the United States. These prepaid disposable phones can be used only for making phone calls.

It’s funny to hear it is promoted as the $10 Anti-iPhone as it doesn’t have a display, but its main features include dual-band support, 4 hours talk time, 150 hours standby, polyphonic ringtones support, vibration, and measures just 96.6 x 41.6 x 14 mm at 77 grams. In addition it uses the Infineon sound chip for high audio quality and call stability.

About the design we have to mention its tactile numeric keypad with Braille markings and the fact that it can be co-branded.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

“Though the iPhone is an amazing device, I challenge anyone to make a call faster than with the HOP1800,” said Hop-On CEO Peter Michaels. “With the cost of living and roaming fees going through the roof, the HOP1800 is also the perfect iPhone traveling companion. Just buy a local SIM card and you can use the HOP1800 with over 40 domestic wireless carriers,” Michaels said.

Hop-On disposable cell phones cost just 10$ in US and if you return it for recycling you receive $5 back just to Keep it Green.
