HTC 6800

If you are passionate by cell phones and are looking for a stylish and powerful handset, we recommend the HTC 6800. Known also as HTC Mogul, this smartphone is a great successor to the HTC PPC-6700, even if has been launched after two years.

We all know that the HTC mobile phones are the most luxury and stylish handsets on the market. The HTC 6800 is not an exception. Even if it looks almost similar with its predecessor, this smartphone comes with a lot of new upgraded features including Windows Mobile 6 and a thinner design. The design of this smartphone is quite simple. The HTC 6800 comes with a “candy-bar” case made of resistant plastic, painted in many attractive color combinations. The case measures 59 x 110 x 18.5 mm and weighs 165 grams, so the HTC 6800 is quite taller and heavier than HTC PPC-6700. Anyway, it has proven to be very comfortable and portable. Like all new smartphones, it comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, feature which makes this phone a bit taller.

On the front side, the HTC 6800 hosts a color transreflective TFT display and some menu navigation buttons. Above the display you will find a speaker surrounded by a Mobile Internet Explorer button and a Message button and below the display two soft keys, the usual Call and End keys,  a Start menu shortcut, a four-way navigation button and an OK button are placed. On the sides, the HTC 6800 has a lot of dedicated buttons. You will find a Power button, a launcher for wireless connections, a camera shutter, a stylus holder, a thumb wheel button for scrolling, a secondary OK button, a voice recorder key and a Wi-Fi button (allows you to switch Wi-Fi feature on / off). On the sides you will find an infrared port, a reset button, a microSD card slot and a miniUSB port.

For showing images, the HTC 6800 comes with a 2.8 touch screen which has a native resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. Even if this resolution seems to be a bit poor for such a powerful smartphone, this display has proven to be excellent for surfing on the internet. The images are clear with a great quality of colors. Another great feature of this handset is the QWERTY keyboard. This feature makes the phone excellent for writing messages or surfing web pages. The keys are large and very responsive offering a comfortable experience during text writing.  An integrated camera is included. Even if is a poor 2 Megapixel camera armed with LED Flash, you will be able to take photos in any environment conditions at a good quality.

As we said, the HTC 6800 managed the situation remarkably when it comes to technology. For connectivity, it comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Infrared, USB and GPS. Powered by a 400 MHz Qualcomm MSM7500 processor and 64 MB of RAM memory, this smartphone runs Windows Mobile 6 without any lag or other malfunctions. The internal memory is good. The HTC 6800 manages 256 MB of internal memory and thanks to the microSD card slot it can be extended up to 4 GB. The HTC 6800 has a good battery life. Equipped with a standard 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery, this smartphone is capable to stay on for almost 4 hours of conversations and up to 340 hours in standby mode. Anyway, because this smartphone is equipped with a lot of high-end technology features, it has a quite exaggerated price. Costing $399, it certainly is not one of the most affordable smartphones on the market.

HTC TyTN II

Being more powerful than any other mobile communications device, the HTC TyTN II takes connectivity to the supreme level. The HTC TyTN II supports all kind of networks and guarantees that you will be capable to stay in touch with your friends anywhere in the world.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

When it comes to design, this smart phone is very similar to the first TyTN but it is more solid and it brings a lot of changes. The HTC TyTN II is neither small nor ultra-slim, having a case made of resistant plastic with 112 x 59 x 19 mm in dimensions and 190 grams in weight.  With a rubber-non-slippery back, rounded edges and a sliding spring-assisted mechanism, this mobile phone feels very comfortable in the hand and it is easy to use.  If you slide the display, a full QWERTY keyboard will be revealed. Anyway, from the front side, it looks exactly like a regular smart phone, having a 2.8 inch touch screen, a secondary camera for video-calls and some navigation keys placed below the display.

These navigation keys include a D-pad, two soft keys, an OK button, a Message, a Windows and an Internet Explorer button plus the classic Call and End keys. On the left side you will find a wheel key (similar with that wheel key used on old Ericsson models) and a secondary OK button. These two keys help you to use this smart phone with one hand. Above them, a Voice Command button is placed. On the right side you will find the Power On/off key, a camera shutter and a stylus pen slot. On the bottom part, the HTC TyTN II has only a miniUSB port and a microSD card slot.

The 2.8 inch TFT touch screen has a native resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, the same resolution that other smart phones have. It supports 65K colors and handwriting recognition. Even if this display is not the best touch screen used on a smart phone ever, it is still very responsive and you will get a great quality of colors. For more accuracy, you can use the stylus pen which comes with this smart phone.

In photographic terms, the HTC TyTN II comes with an integrated 3.15 Megapixel camera which is capable of taking photos at a maximum resolution of 2048x1536 pixels and record clips with a speed of 30 fps. Because it lacks a flash, this camera can be useless if you want to take photos at night or if you are in a poorly lit room. The QWERTY keyboard is excellent. With 41 keys, including a Fn key, a Wi-Fi key and a My Documents key, this keyboard is very useful if you are a fast writer. The keys are large and offer positive feedback when you press them.

Powered by a Qualcomm MSM7200 400 MHz processor and 128 MB of RAM memory, this smart phone is faster than his predecessor. The internal memory is a bit low, having only 256 MB of free space. But if you want more, you can extend it up to 8 GB with a microSD card. For other connectivity modes, the HTC TyTN II has Wi-Fi, GPS, miniUSB, Bluetooth and supports GPRS, EDGE and 3G networks. The standard Li-Pol 1350 mAh battery has enough power to keep this smart phone up for 6 hours of conversations and up to 400 hours in standby mode. Anyway, because in our days new smart phones appear in every day, this awesome smart phone keeps the price at a low level. It costs only $249, a half-price of, for example, Nokia N97.

HTC G1 Mobile Phone

The HTC G1 mobile phone is exactly what the name suggests: a Google Phone. Known as the HTC Dream, it may not have the specifications needed to melt the heart of technology enthusiasts, but we believe that the HTC G1 mobile phone will make a good impression, even if it comes wrapped in a newspaper.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

G1 is a prudent and conservative approach to introducing a new operating system to the mobile world. While the HTC G1 mobile phone is not, anyway you look at it, a low-end, it somehow deliberately ranks below the current offers of major manufacturers, both in terms of style and the features related to high technology.

With 117 x 55.7 x 17.1 mm in dimensions and 158 grams in weight, the HTC G1 is not the most portable phone that you can imagine. It is slightly larger than, let’s say the Sony Ericsson Xperia, which certainly is not the most compact phone on the market. On the other hand, it is slightly more flexible than the HTC Touch Pro. The HTC G1 has a great design, unlike any other smartphone on the market.

The bottom angle and the slide are the most notable aspects of design. The construction quality phone is quite good, having a case made of plastic which is smooth. On the front side it has a 3.2 inch touch screen and below it only a Menu button, a Back button, a direct navigation button and the Call and End buttons. For typing, the HTC G1 mobile phone has a generous full-QWERTY keyboard. The keys are well-sized, with enough space between them so you can easily write documents, emails or SMS.

The HTC G1 mobile phone is equipped with a 3.2 inch touch screen which is capable of offering a maximum resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Image quality is amazing, with satisfactory levels of contrast and brightness. The 65K colors have a weakness when a single color gradient is shown. In all other aspects of the phone, we can say that it carries out its duties very well. Visibility in sunlight is flawless and the touch screen sensitivity is also very impressive. Even the finest of touches made the desired operation, but the only thing which is lacking from the HYC G1 is handwriting recognition.

When it comes to the camera, we expected mediocre performance, but I was amazed because I have never seen a camera as good as this in any other HTC models. Surprisingly, the G1 offers the best 3 megapixel camera on a smartphone and can compete successfully, and in some cases even overcome sensors from Sony Ericsson mobile phone cameras.

It is capable of taking photos at a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and record clips at a speed of 30 fps. The images are clear and have a great quality of colors. Connectivity is also quite diversified. The HTC G1 mobile phone, being a Quad-Band (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 / 2100), offers many features like HSDPA, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0.

HTC P4000

Even from the beginning, HTC was recognized by having a large range of powerful smartphones with a lot of high-end technology features. A new Pocket PC phone model is the HTC P4000. Identical with HTC Mogul, this Windows Mobile smartphone is a CDMA device with Windows Mobile 5 pre-installed.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The HTC P4000 has a solid construction with a resistant plastic case. The rounded edges and a great design give a real business aspect for this smartphone. With 59 x 110 x 18.5mm in dimensions and 165 grams in weight, this handset is exactly what I call slim and light. A thing which you are probably going to love about the HTC P4000 is the slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The keyboard is large, having flat keys with enough space between them. The keys are very responsive and comfortable to press so you can write on them easily. On the front side, you have a five-way navigation button, four soft keys (including OK and Windows) and the classic Call and End buttons. On the sides, you will find a volume rocker, a Wi-Fi button, camera shutter and the power key.

Like other HTC smartphone models, the HTC P4000 has a full touch screen 2.8 inch display with a native resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.  Supporting 65K colors, this display will offer you clear images with a good contrast and saturation. The touch screen is very responsive, but if you want more accuracy, the bottom right side of the phone hosts a special place where the stylus pen is located.

This smartphone has an integrated 2.0 Megapixel camera which is good for a phone, but it’s also a bit too cheap for this handset. With features like 4x digital zoom and flash LED, the photos have a poor quality of colors, so we recommend that you use it only when you really have to. The internal speaker has loud volume levels and the sounds are clear. The pre-installed portable Windows Media Player version allows you to listen to music or watch movies comfortably and you will enjoy a great quality of images if you put it in landscape mode.

Being a CDMA (800 / 1900 / cdmaOne / CDMA2000 1xRTT / CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rel. 0 / CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev A) device, it excels in connectivity terms.  You will be able to stay connected anytime because this smartphone recognizes almost all mobile phone networks. And like other smartphone models it couldn’t lack the EDGE, 3G, GPRS, HDSMA, Wireless, Bluetooth 2.0, Infrared, GPS and miniUSB connectivity features.

Powered by a Qualcomm MSM7500 processor and 64 MB of RAM memory, the HTC P4000 is able to run multi-tasks without any lag. Being such a powerful and great smartphone, it needs to have a big storage capacity. The HTC P4000 has only 256 MB of free space, but it can be extended up to 16 GB with microSD, TransFlash or SIDO cards. The Windows Mobile 5 interface makes this smarphone act like a Pocket PC without a doubt. The pre-installed Microsoft Office Mobile, Windows Media Player, Pocket MSN Messenger, Mobile Internet Explorer browser or many other applications are a delight for people that like to get a kick out of their phone’s functionality.

The Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery will keep this smartphone on for 200 minutes of conversation and 10 days in standby mode. Anyway, if you are looking for a smartphone, we recommend you to buy his handset because you will be surprised by its capacities. For a price of $199 you sure do get a lot of goodies…

HTC P4350

The HTC P4350 is another professional HTC smartphone with Windows Mobile based functions. With a resistant plastic case painted in black with some beautiful silver accents, the HTC P4350 has an excellent business aspect. The entire front face is dominated by a huge touch screen display, but the most important aspect of this phone is that it has a full QWERTY keyboard.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

This type of keyboard makes the phone look a bit larger than it actually is but, even so it has only 109 x 59 x 17 mm in dimensions and 168 grams in weight, good values for a smartphone. On the front side, below the display, you will see four soft buttons (including Windows Mobile and OK buttons) and the classic Call and End keys. On the sides you will find a camera shutter, a volume rocker, a microSD card slot, a miniUSB port and two dedicated keys for voice calling and media player.

The full QWERTY keyboard is excellent. Having flat and large keys, with enough space between them, the keyboard is very responsive and comfortable to use. Because the keys are large and offer a positive feedback, you can write easily on them even if you are a fast writer. The HTC P4350 has a 2.8 inch touch screen which has a native resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. This display supports 65K colors so you will receive great quality of colors with a good contrast. The display is also very responsive, even at the lightest touch, but if you want more accuracy you can use the stylus pen, so even if you have thick fingers you will feel very comfortable using this smartphone.

On the back side, the HTC P4350 has a 2 Megapixel camera which takes pictures with a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. Because it lacks auto-focus and flash LED, the images will be a bit unclear with a poor quality (especially if you are in a dark room).  A negative aspect is that the camera shutter presents a bit of lag. Powered by a TI OMAP 850 200 MHz processor and 64 MB of RAM memory, the HTC P4350 is capable of running multi-tasks without problems or lag. It comes with Windows Mobile 5 pre-installed and a lot of helpful applications like Pocket Internet Explorer, Pocket Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF viewer) and Windows Media Player.

When it comes to connectivity, the HTC P4350 is a GSM Quad-Band (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) device which supports GPRS, EDGE and HDSMA connections. Like all high-end technology smartphones, it has Bluetooth v2.0, Wireless, miniUSB and microSD connectivity features.  The miniUSB port allows you to connect this smartphone to any computer or laptop for synchronization and the miniSD card slot allows you to extend the internal memory, which has only 128 MB of free space, to a maximum 8 GB. This should be enough for you to store your files, music, photos and movies.

The external stereo speaker has loud volume levels and produces clear and great quality sounds. The Li-Ion 1130 mAh battery is capable of keeping this smartphone on for 5 hours of conversation and 200 hours in standby mode. Anyway, the HTC P4350 is another excellent smartphone made by HTC manufacturer. For $473, you will get a beautiful designed handset with a lot of features and great performance. So if you are looking for a smartphone and don’t know what to choose, we recommend you go with the HTC P4350.
