KT770, a Symbian S60-based LG slider cell phone

Following the example of other major companies, LG decided to take advantage of their presence at the 2009 edition of the Mobile World Congress and to officially present their latest smartphones, such as LG KT770, LG Arena KM900 and LG GM730.

The novelty consists of the fact that the KT770 is equipped with the Symbian S60 3rd edition, compared to the other two smartphones I mentioned above which run on the Microsoft Windows Mobile. This is a little bit surprising for an LG product, because the Symbian operating system isn’t available on many devices.

There is a special LG website dedicated to the MWC, which is a little bit difficult to use, if I may say so, where you can find the details you’d like to know about the devices the South Korean company prepared for the event.

In the given context, as far as the features are concerned, the KT770 comes equipped with: quad band GSM/EDGE connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), dual band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity (850/2100 MHz or 900/2100 MHz), a 2.8 inch TFT WQVGA display with a resolution of 240x400 pixels and 256k colors, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, facial recognition, smile shot and panorama shot, an integrated assisted GPS, Wi-Fi connectivity, full Internet browser, an internal memory of 1GB/2GB and microSD card slot for expandable memory of no more than 16GB. The new LG slider cell phone measures 111x51.5x15.8 millimeters.

The point is the phone looks quite good, but we hope that the price won’t be too high. As far as the availability is concerned, the LG KT770 is expected to start selling in the next couple of months.

LG wrist phone announced by Orange

Wrist phones are just what the doctor ordered, when it comes to catching the general attention, because they are still an impressive innovation in the mobile phones realm. This is why Orange, a famous brand, known as a mobile network operator and Internet service provider, decided to release a LG wrist phone, the G910 Touch Watch, which is expected to become available in the European continent.

The company is proud to announce that it is the first carrier to release the device. The LG G910 is nothing but the European version of a wrist phone that I told you about sometime in December, last year, the GD910. Being aimed at bringing more and more customers, the device isn’t spectacular when it comes to the features list, but it manages to amaze everyone because it’s the first watch phone that got the chance to be sold by a famous mobile carrier.

“At Orange, we are always finding new ways to bring mobility to our customers, from the simplest phones to feature rich devices. Innovation is at the heart of everything we do at Orange, and LG shares that vision. Together, we are pleased to offer Orange customers the first opportunity to experience this market leading watch phone”, said Yves Maitre, senior VP of Devices at Orange. In addition, he said that “this phone really manages to combine form with functionality and its chic styling and mobile broadband connectivity will no doubt appeal to all the early adopters out there. It is a great addition to our range, showing that we can give customers the latest in high-tech design for a totally new kind of mobile multimedia experience, or if they choose, a simple device for calling and texting”.

As far as the features are concerned, they include” a 1.43 inch touch sensitive LCD display, HSDPA connectivity, MP3 player and video calling capabilities.

If you’re curious about the way this new LG wrist phone looks like, here you have some pictures of the LG GD910, which was presented at CES 2009. Unfortunately, the information about pricing and availability wasn’t unveiled by Orange yet.

GD900, an LG slider cell phone with transparent keyboard

The highly anticipated Mobile World Congress has just begun and we can’t wait to tell you about the novelties were prepared for us by the famous companies that you all know very well. LG, for example, presented a very interesting device, the GD900, a slider cell phone that was intensely rumored in the past.

There aren’t enough details available about this slider, but, along with its debut at the MWC 2009, the chances for us to find more increased significantly. The bad thing is that we don’t have the technical information we all want to know at our disposal, because, as far as the “outfit”, the pictures are more than edifying.

As you can easily see, the phone comes with something innovative that will certainly catch everyone’s eye: a transparent keyboard, which is said to be the first ever in the world of mobile phones. And, if you think about it, it is probably true, because this is one feature that only concept phones were equipped with up until this LG slider cell phone made its appearance.

If you’re afraid that this see-through keyboard can’t be used in the dark, then let me tell you that it glows whenever the lights go out, so users can see the number they’re dialing. As far as the features are concerned, they will be unveiled later this year. We know, for the moment, that there are a camera placed on the front of the phone (for video conferences, most probably), 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and a touch sensitive display.

LG Arena KM900 and the world of multimedia cell phones

I just can’t believe the amount of new cell phones that shoot up like mushrooms in these difficult times, when everyone’s fundamental concern has nothing to do with the acquisition of a new handheld, but with all sorts of problems related to the lack of money or to finding a way to pay the debts.

Nevertheless, mobile phones manufacturers seem to not care a bit of the economic environment and to create more and more devices.

In the given context, LG has just made official a brand new multimedia phone, which is said to be the flagship in the multimedia family. Known under the name of Arena KM900, it is expected to make its debut at the highly anticipated event that will take place next week in Barcelona, the World Mobile Congress.

One of the most important advantages of this new LG cell phone is the user interface, because Arena is completely different from anything that you’ve seen before, as it comes with a 3D S-Class touchscreen that features a layout based on a cube. The cube consists of four home screens, which the user can customize according to their preferences.

As far as the features are concerned, they include, among others: a 3 inch WVGA color touchscreen display with a resolution of 800x480 pixels and 262K colors, a 5 megapixel camera with DVD video recording capabilities, tri-band GSM/UMTS/HSDPA 7.2 Mbps connectivity, FM radio, mobile TV, assisted GPS support, Wi-Fi and the S-Class 3D interface which I mentioned earlier.

The phone comes with a 1000 mAh battery which provides up to 300 hours of stand-by time and up to 230 minutes of talk time.

If you’re interested in other information (concerning pricing and availability, for example) about this new device that has just entered the world of multimedia cell phones, then you’ll have to wait for the MWC 2009.

LG music cell phone – the KM330

I have said it before and I will never get tired of saying it over and over again: cell phones are made for one purpose and one purpose only, meaning for communication. This is why I can’t understand why they must be stuffed with all sorts of features that you can find on other devices also and which will never be able to compete with those.

lg-music-cell-phone-e28093-the-km330-01

Nevertheless, if I were to pick one such feature that I consider more appropriate to a cell phone than others, then my example would probably be the music player, even if it shouldn’t make an exception either. The point is people can live without music and they don’t really need spectacular devices in order to listening to their favorite music.

So prepare yourself for a brand new music cell phone, LG-branded, the KM330, which isn’t at the rumor phase. We’re talking about official announcement here, so would you please? The media KM330 phone is the newest member of the KM series. In addition, the device is a low-end candybar, focused on music.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The features of the LG mobile phone include, among other: a tri-band GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 connectivity, a 2 inch display with a resolution of 340 x 320 pixels and 262K colors, a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus, FM radio, 3D stereo speakers, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, USB 2.0 full speed, an internal memory of 90 MB and a microSD memory card support for expandable capacity storage of up to 8GB.

Measuring 108.2 x 47.2 x 13.8 millimeters and weighing approximately 84 grams, the music cell phone is provided with a 900 mAh battery.

We don’t have information about the release date, but as far as the price is concerned, the KM330 is expected to be an affordable device, selling out for no more than 170 Euros without a contract.
