LG HBM-530, Swarovski crystal headphones

There was a time when bling-bling gadgets were popping right in front of my eyes with a frequency that I just couldn’t cope with in a decent way. More than that, I got to the point where, writing about such devices, encrusted with Swarovski crystals, precious stones and metals, became something like a burden, a living nightmare.

It’s been a while since I’ve last written an article about cool gadgets for fashion enthusiasts, so now it’s like commemorating something that I used to do very often, even if I didn’t quite enjoy it. LG took advantage of its presence at the Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas, Nevada, and presented what they’ve been working on in the past couple of months, hoping that it will be one hell of a surprise for the large public.

All sorts of Bluetooth headsets are available nowadays on the market, so it takes a lot for such devices to impress their potential customers and to make them want to consider what they’re offering. Take BlueAnt Q1, also presented at CES for example or the Nokia BH-804, which is Nokia’s smallest Bluetooth headset to date. They are both based on ground-breaking technologies, but sometimes what a device needs in order to distinguish itself from others is a bling-bling.

The LG HBM-530, presented at Consumer Electronics Show, is studded with the precious little stones that are the latest trend in this new era, the Swarovski crystals, being what people call a must-have of the season. The headphones are equipped with an e-Clip ergonomic ear bud and a carrying cradle. Besides that, there are no additional details available concerning the features of these Swarovski crystal headphones, nor about the price and availability. This means you’ll have to be patient up until the information will become public, but I’m afraid you won’t be enjoying too much what LG will have to say. Because, you know, bling-bling always come with spicy prices!

Even if the phone won’t impress the most pretentious demands of the customers, being only a mid-end handset without the ground-breaking capabilities people are accustomed to nowadays, the price-quality ratio might easily convert it into an alternative that is worthy of your attention.

As I’ve already said, the LG KS660 is a tri-band mobile phone, working on GSM/GPRS/EDGE (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz). This device could easily turn into the perfect business tool, as it gives you the chance to access the business line in the same time with the personal one, using the same device. The main disadvantage is the fact that the phone is not equipped with features like 3G and WiFi. And if you don’t enjoy using a stylus, then the KS660 isn’t precisely what you need, because it has one on the right side.

As far as the price is concerned, there are no details yet. But what we know for sure is that the first dual SIM LG cell phone is expected to become available in China, Russia and a couple of European countries (members of CIS, the Commonwealth of Independent States, former Soviet Republics), in the first quarter of 2009.
