LG Viewty is a true camera phone integrating a powerful 5MP camera with autofocus, strobe flash, 30 fps filming capability, maximum picture resolution of 1592 x 1944 pixels, still image capture, manual focus, image stabilizer, and handwriting recognition for picture editing.
There is also a secondary camera for video calling, a VGA type.

If you have read my previous article about this phone model, then you already know it is working on 2G/3G networks, has a 3-inch TFT touch display with Flash UI, 256K colors and 240 x 400 pixels resolution.
In addition it has a microSD card slot for extending the 100MB shared phone memory to store the high-rsolution pictures you capture while on the go, and supports GPRS, EDGE, with up to 3.6Mbps transfer speeds.

There is also Bluetooth 1.2 with A2DP support, USB 2.0 connectivity, HTML browsing, e-mail function, Java, music/video player, FM radio with RDS, Organize, DOC/XLS/PDF files viewer, and a 1000mAh Li-Ion battery power for up to four hours of continuous operation.

The news about LG Viewty is that the producing company and DivX have announced it to be the world’s first mobile phone to support high-quality DivX video format, having a DivX video player and 120 fps 640 x 480 pixels DivX video encoding.

“Our goal is to make it easy for consumers to enjoy a high-quality video experience on any kind of device” declared Kevin Hell, CEO at DivX. “The LG Viewty is a perfect example of this experience. It allows consumers to capture video on its 3-inch screen and then easily transfer that video to a computer or virtually any kind of consumer electronics device.”

It is a slider measuring 103 x 52.9 x 17.9 mm, with a 2.6-inch large TFT display of 256K colors and 240 x 320 pixels resolution, coming with a built-in 5MP camera.

The battery powering the phone model is a standard Li-Ion.

Running on the S60 mobile platform with integrated widget support to enhance the user experience allowing the creation of personal web experiences, the LG KT610 mobile phone that will be released in May, supports 2G and 3G networks and has a 2.4-inch TFT display of 256K colors and a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels.
It has also a secondary external display in mono color measuring 1.45 inches and a full QWERTY keyboard type.

The cell phone supports MP3 playback, and comes with a built-in 2MP camera with video recording capability and a secondary VGA camera for video calls.
The user can store all the captures images, videos and music on the 64MB shared memory and on a microSD card.

LG KT610 is a cell phone with lots of features and applications running on the Symbian OS v9.2 with the S60 rel. 3.1 software, including GPS receiver, Java, voice command, document viewer, photo editor, handsfree, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0, USB, e-mail, instant messaging, Internet browsing via HTML, games, and it is powered by a standard Li-Ion battery.

The T60 is a candybar mobile phone which will be available soon on the market at an affordable price, sporting the largest display for a less than 10 mm thick model, measuring just 8.9 mm and sporting a 2.2-inch screen.
It also integrates a 2MP camera built-in and audio player, while its battery life is extended as it’s powered by MediaTek creative platform.

The T60 will ne FNC-enabled like the T80, and will come with the rest of standard features equipping any other new phone model on the market.

Its Combi SIM card type developed by Chunghwa Telecom is the first SIM card that offers secure e-wallet services with massive storage for transaction recordings.
On the other hand, BenQ T80 has Flash user interface and a 2.2-inch large display integrating a 3MP camera.

With this model you can time automatic wallpaper changes and as it is Digital Living Network Alliance-compliant you can integrate it into all DLNA home entertainment systems in order to use it as a remote control for your home equipment.

The phones measures 110 x 17 x 53 mm, weighting 145 grams, and comes in Solid Black color.
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 provides lots of applications and useful functions running on the Windows Mobile 6 operating system, and these include Internet Explorer Mobile, video calling via 3G, RSS reader, picture blogging, text input with stylus and handwriting recognition, 3D games, Java, flight mode, and FM radio with RDS.

Other features include polyphonic ringtones, speakerphone feature and vibrating alert, while for entertainment it brings Bluetooth with A2DP support, media player, e-mail, music tones support, and the Windows Media Player Mobile application.

XPERIA X1 lets you store up to 400MB of pictures, videos, music and documents in its internal memory but you can extend it via a SanDisk Micro card to add more. You can capture pictures with the built-in 3.2MP camera with auto focus, 3x digital zooming, photo light capability and video recording.

The supported connectivity technologies and options are: Agps, modem, PC synchronization, USB mass storage and WLAN.

The Marvell processor was chosen for the latest Samsung Smartphone because it is a cost-effective solution providing up to 624MHz power-efficient computing performance, hardware video acceleration and a very long battery life.

The world’s first modular mobile phone is based on the concept of giving the users the possibility to choose a new phone when they want, and this attracted the leading mobile network operators such as Telecom Italia, VimperCom from Russia and Cellcom located in Israel, with their tens of millions of subscribers to sign a strategic partnership which will lead to the releasing of modu in Q4 2008.

The modu compatible devices will start to be developed soon and these will include MP4 players, digital photo frames, DECT phones, and cameras, and the first company that will begin to manufacture these products is Blaupunkt.
The modu jackets design will be made by Universal Music Group, the world’s largest music company, and among the other partners are SanDisk and Texas Instruments.

The idea of creating modu came from Dov Moran who invented the USB Flash Drive and this is his motivation:
“There are hundreds of handset models on the market: the trouble is that as a consumer you can only have one at a time and you are usually tied to a long and expensive contract. modu is challenging that with a solution that offers freedom, boundless possibilities and the opportunity to change your phone without it costing a fortune.”

So, for all those involved in the modu project there are many advantages for the future.
First comes the possibility to open a dialogue with the subscribers providing them an affordable option of changing their phone even a few times a year.
