Motorola wasn't as busy at CES 2007 today as Nokia, but it still managed to make an important announcement. The company today unveiled the Motorola MOTORIZR Z6 quad-band music phone.
Measuring only 16mm thick, the Z6 features a QVGA (320x240 pixels) display with 262k colors, GSM and EDGE support, 2 megapixel camera, microSD card slot, music player with Windows Media Digital Rights Management (DRM), Windows Media Audio (WMA), MP3, AAC, AAC+, AAC+ enhanced support, Bluetooth with A2DP stereo support.
The Motorola RIZR Z6 music phone is expected to be available in the first half of 2007.
The second hybrid between iDEN and CDMA is a reality, as Sprint Nextel now offers the Motorola ic402 on its webpage. The new phone is based on the ic502, but removes the external display and also doesn’t meet military 810f specification, which the bigger model did. It means it is plain clamshell with low-end specifications. Sprint Nextel offers it for $40 after the rebates, which is $20 less than the ic502.
Motorola today announced the official availability of their newest PDA phone, the MOTOROKR E6. At only 14.5 mm thick, the MOTOROKR E6 PDA features 2.4" (240 x 320 pixels) TFT display with 262k colors, a 2.0 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom, CIF and QVGA video recording, FM radio and built-in MP3 player with dedicated music keys, 8MB of memory, SD card slot for up to 2GB of extra memory, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and a 3.5 mm stereo jack.
So when will this thing hit the US? We have no idea. The MOTOROKR E6 was already approved by the FCC back in October so it won't take too long.
