During 16-20 April, at Fondamenta Jahier Via Solari 37-39 in Milan, Italy, will take place the Japan Design 2008 exhibition hosted by 15 Japanese companies which focus on design innovation.



There, NEC is exposing its cell phones with the unique feature of sensing the emotional expression.
This can be seen on the phones’ casing as they change the exterior texture and colors.

NEC N905i and NEC N095µ are the new high-end clamshells from the N line, coming in impressive vivid housing colors like the ones you see in the pictures.

The telecommunication network that provides them is NTT DoCoMo from Japan, and NEC N095iµ sports a built-I 2MP camera, keys illumination lights for a stunning magic effect enabled when the user receives a call or a new message.

Designed in such a way not to exceed 12.9 mm in depth and 106 grams in weight, NEC N095µ features HSDPA support, World Wing global roaming and four color options: Graphite Black, Bourgogne Red, Opal White and Venus Gold, just to cover all tastes.



The other NEC mobile phone is not less impressive than the NEC N095µ. NEC N905i is another addition to the NTT DoCoMo latest phone releases, and it has not a 2MP but a 5.2MP built-in camera with auto focus and face detection capabilities, so you can be sure that your pictures and videos will have a good quality no matter if you take them in your home or while on the go.



Also, the phone provides high speed web browsing via HSDPA connectivity and you can watch your favorite TV shows by turning the phone in the horizontal position, using the built-in 1-Seg TV tuner with the circular control button, specially designed for the TV function.

Like the previous described model, NEC N905i comes in a few cool housing colors: Black, Pink, Red and White.

Also called Flask, the NEC phone concept is coming in an innovative design and rumors say that it will be released later this year.

The spectacular part of it is the fact that it is powered by a liquid fuel cell that is disappearing when power is drained away and the model is featuring also a touch-sensitive display.

It is known that fuel cells differ from standard batteries in that they consume reactant which must be replenished and on the other hand, the standard types store electrical energy chemically in a closed system.
The electrodes in the fuel cells are catalytic and more stable while a battery’s electrodes are reacting and changing when the battery is charged and discharged.

NEC describes Flask as a regular mobile phone with enclosed ultra-high-density packaging technology and the fuel cell technology for an innovative functionality.

The students at Korean Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology has created an innovative device similar with the one used by doctors to check your livers health.
This medical device is designed in such a way to be used easily by anyone who owns a cell phone and wants to find out from time to time how are his/her livers.

Maybe you are wondering what the exact use of this device is.
Well, the most appropriate would be for checking your livers’ state after a party where you had some drinks, or a similar situation.

This liver checker must be connected to your mobile phone in order to make the analysis, and then it stores the result for two of your blood’s enzymes in order to send it to a specialized person, a doctor, who will explain your situation in detail.

NEC have recently been expanding their horizons, introducing a wide range of new and interesting concepts, aimed at many and different targets. NEC's ideas combine everyday life objects with handset performances to add a tint of originality to their phones. However, their concepts will probably never make the stores, due to their restricted audience.

For instance, one of the phones reinvents the idea of camera phone, being capable of a huge performance in an interesting design. It resembles the Nokia N93i mobile phone, with a flip-and-twist clap, but instead of the clamshell axle, it has the camera with an extremely professional look, mainly because of the available tripod.

Also, there is a watch-looking phone in bright and vivid colors and a scissor-like phone as well.
