Six New Bluetooth Solutions from Alpine at CES 2008

Alpine Electronics is delivering automotive mobile media solutions worldwide, including video, audio and mobile device connectivity systems, and this year at CES it presented six in-vehicle Bluetooth-based devices that allow you make phone calls hands free.
Let’s see what they can do.

First comes the KCE-300BT Bluetooth Interface module, compatible with all Alpine Ai-NET head units such as the Mobile Multimedia Stations with touch-sensitive displays.
Alpine worked with Motorola to develop this solution, and the final product allows hands free phone calls displayed via the car’s sound system that shows the Caller ID, Missed Calls, Dialed Calls and Received Calls.

If you put together the KCE-300BT module with the IVA-D106 or IVA-W205 Mobile Multimedia Stations, you may use the 12-key input to dial a number directly.

eX-10 Advanced iPod Controller with Bluetooth works well with all sound systems and doesn’t need installation.
It is a plug-and-play device that provides iPod playback and has a small base unit integrating a 2.4-inch color TFT screen.
The screen can be mounted easily on the car dash.

Together with the iPod Controller you get a remote control and same as with KCE-300BT Bluetooth Interface module, it lets you make hands free phone calls via the car’s sound system.
One more thing that you need to know about this device is that it won the CES Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Award for the In-Vehicle Control/OEM Integration category.

TME-M740BT 7-inch WVGA Touch Screen Monitor is actually a 2-DIN monitor with Bluetooth, that allows hands free calls and provides information such as Missed/Dialed/Received Calls, Phone Book Memory, Caller ID but also a 12-key direct number input.

The three models presented have support for music playback on compatible devices.
Now we have two portable navigation systems called PMD-B200, PND-K3 and PND-K3msn, which have Bluetooth modules built-in.
You can use them for hands free calls but also as navigation devices.

“Bluetooth hands-free use is becoming a standard feature expected by consumers,” declared Stephen Witt, vice president, marketing and product planning, Alpine Electronics. “Alpine’s range of Bluetooth solutions make it easy for consumers to choose the system that matches their need,
while taking advantage of the safety and convenience options for the in-car environment.”

The Awarded Wireless Pad that Charges 5 Mobile Devices at CES 2008

It won the Time Magazine’s Best Inventions of The Year, and now it wears the title of is one of the Best of Innovations Honoree at CES 2008.

WildCharger is the world’s first wireless charging pad for mobile devices, but at the moment it can charge only the Motorola RAZR cell phone models.
In the next month, the company will introduce support for Blackberry, iPhone and the iPod.

Together with the charging pad, you can find also the WildCharge adapters, sold separately or with the pad.

The charging pad can power up to 5 mobile devices simultaneously, but these devices need to have the right technology built-in or the WildCharge adapters.
This way, the charging process is eliminating the annoying and space-consuming wires and wall bricks, and all that you have to do is to place your device on the pad in any position.

WildCharger pad starts to transfer the power via the contact points to the adapter and into the mobile device, and the device’s position doesn’t count because of the special geometry of the charging surface.
There is a closed electrical circuit that forms between the surface and the mobile device.
