Nokia 7650

Back in the days when it first appeared, the Nokia 7650 was a cell phone that everybody wanted to get their hands on but it was one mobile device that not many people could afford. The Nokia 7650 was a very powerful device back in the days of its release but when you compare it to the modern day smart phone, it really seems like it cannot handle too much pressure.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
The Nokia 7650 has 114 x 56 x 26 mm in dimensions and 154 grams in weight, figures which are quite high for a device which is supposed to be portable. The display measures 2.1 inches in diagonal and it comes at a resolution of 176 x 208 pixels. The TFT display can support 4096 colors and it comes with a lot of features that were really useful at that time. As for the alert types, you should know that this Nokia phone comes with vibrations and also monophonic ringtones and other downloadable polyphonic sounds. There is no speakerphone and this is something quite odd for a cell phone of the caliber of the Nokia 7650. When you compare this cell phone to the modern day smart phones, you will see that it lacks quite a lot of features that we need to find on our modern mobile devices. There is no integrated wireless adapter and no 3G. Even worse, there is no integrated card slot so expanding the memory of this cell phone is not possible. And memory expansion would have been nice since the internal memory of the Nokia 7650 is as low as 4 MB.

The phonebook on this mobile device is capable of storing unlimited entries and thanks to the photo call feature, you can assign different pictures for each of your phone contacts separately. For every particular contact you are allowed to enter 3 different phone number and you have the possibility to choose 25 voice dial numbers. The Nokia 7650 can also keep track of the recent phone calls which you have missed, dialed or received and this information will be stored in the memory of the cell phone for 1 month. The cell phone offers support for both Bluetooth and Infrared, making file transfer between mobile devices a lot easier. The Nokia 7650 takes its power from a 104 MHz ARM 9 processor and it uses the Symbian v 6.1 operating system to run applications. Not only is it capable of supporting SMS and MMS but you can even use it to send e-mails and use different instant messaging programs. There is no integrated radio, but you can benefit from the usual tools found on a cell phone like clock, alarm or organizer. The VGA camera integrated in this cell phone can take pictures at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The Nokia 7650 also comes with 3 preinstalled games but I’m not sure how many more you can add due to the low internal memory. The battery life of this cell phone is very poor as it only manages to keep this Nokia on for maximum 4 hours of talk time and about 200 hours in standby mode.

Nokia 6265i

If you are expecting to get a very powerful touch screen smart phone packet with a lot of high end technology features, the Nokia 6265i is definitely not worth your attention. But if you want a mainstream cell phone which you can rely on and that will certainly not let you down in your moments of need, the Nokia 6265i may be one of the best choices you could ever make.

It seems that this Nokia model is the last CDMA cell phone that this manufacturer is ever going to make and I heard it is one great CDMA device as well. This slider phone does not offer appealing characteristics as far as design goes. Sliding the phone up, a regular numerical pad will be revealed. On the back of the phone, you will discover a 2 megapixel camera which is actually able to take some decent pictures and it can even record some clips. 2 MP does not provide excellent image quality but it will still come in handy when your digital camera is not around. Taking photos outdoors is a much better choice than taking them indoors. The camera lens features autofocus and other features of the camera are the zoom, the flash features plus the night mode. Using the photos that you take, you can even customize your wallpaper.

The display of the Nokia 6265i offers support for 262k colors and the resolution of the screen is 240 x 320 pixels. Not only does this cell phone support video streaming but it also offer support for video ringtones. The included memory of this cell phone is quite low, as 24 MB is not enough if we compare it to the modern day cell phones. Thanks to the included mini SD slot, you can extend the memory of the phone up to 2 GB. The dimensions of this unit are 3.9 x 1.9 x 0.87 inches and the total weight is 126 grams. The battery of the Nokia 6265i is a Li-Ion 1070 mAh battery that can keep the cell phone on for about 4 hours of conversations and about 280 hours in standby mode. The video streaming feature is going to allow you to watch TV and real live shows directly from you cell phone and this is probably one of the coolest features of this Nokia model.

The Nokia 6265i offers full support for text messages and audio plus video MMS. The T9 input can cover the most spoken languages of the planet. There are some preinstalled games on this cell phone but there is always the ability to download some more. You can also download different applications like currency converters or even one for area, mass and temperature. The Nokia 6265i uses a WAP 2.0 browser which makes surfing on the internet a bit easier. The storage capacity of the phone is limited to 500 contact and you also get calendar, reminder and notes. Other features are the display of time and date, the sharing of pictures, wallpapers, themes and even screensavers.

Nokia 6230

Maybe one of the most popular and appreciated Nokia classic cell phones is the Nokia 6230. Being another mid-level cell phone made by the greatest Nokia manufacturer, the 6230 comes with a great business aspect and a list of features which is quite impressive for a phone of its range. The retail package of the phone contains only the necessary accessories: a battery, a charger, a USB cable, headphone and the usual software CD and manuals.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
Launched in 2003, the Nokia 6230 has a classic candy-bar form and comes with a case made of resistant plastic covered in a nice matte black. If you don’t like this color you can choose the silver model.  The unit measures 103 x 44 x 20 mm in dimensions and 97 grams in weight, acceptable values for a business phone like this one. Even if the case is made of plastic, the phone looks very resistant being solid and compact and has proven to be very comfortable in your hands.

The front side of the phone has a classic aspect. There you will find a display, some navigation buttons (two soft keys, a 4-way button and the Call and End keys) plus a numerical pad. This numerical pad has proven to be excellent for writing messages being composed by large and responsive keys. These keys have a pleasant to touch surface and offering a positive aspect, they will make you fall in love with typing messages.  On the sides of the phone you will find a Power On / off button, two volume keys, a 2.5 mm audio jack, a USB port and a charger port. On the back side you will notice only a camera and a speaker.

When it comes to technology, the Nokia 6230 makes a nice impression for a mid-level cell phone. It comes with a 1.5 inches TFT display which has a native resolution of 128 x 128 pixels and supports 65K colors. This display is good for such a cheap cell phone but the images’ quality is poor. The images will be unclear and the contrast is quite low. It is also not visible under direct sunlight. The 6230 comes with a camera. Being a VGA camera, it is capable of taking photos at a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 pixels and recording clips at a maximum resolution of 128 x 96 pixels. Like at all the VGA cameras, the photos will have a poor quality with a low level of details. The internal memory of the phone will allow you to store all your photos or songs. It comes with 6 MB of internal memory and a MMC card slot which supports up to 2 GB.

In terms of connectivity, the Nokia 6230 comes like a Tri-Band device (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) and support for GSM, GPRS and EDGE. Other connectivity options are Bluetooth, Infrared and USB. Even if it lacks Wi-Fi, this cell phone allows you to access the internet and send emails via WAP. Having poor features, this cell phone has a great battery life. The standard Li-Ion 850 mAh battery manages to keep the unit on for up to 4 hours of conversations and up to 300 hours in standby mode.

Nokia 2630

Another low-budget business cell phone made by Nokia is the 2630. The Nokia 2630 has been launched in May of 2007, being designed for all kinds of customers but especially for business people. Even if it doesn’t come with many powerful features, this mobile phone impresses with its solid and compact design and small dimensions. The retail package of this phone includes the phone, a battery, a charger, headphones and the usual software CD and manuals.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
The Nokia 2630 is another candy-bar handset which comes with a classic case made of resistant plastic with rounded edges and it’s beautifully painted in a combination between glossy black and silver. Measuring 105 x 45 x 9.9 mm in dimensions and 66 grams in weight, this unit feels very comfortable in your hands and fits great into any pocket.

The front side of the phone hosts a regular display and a numerical pad. Between the display and the numerical pad some navigation buttons are placed (two soft keys, the Call and End keys and a 5-way button). The numerical pad of this phone has proven to be excellent for typing messages. The keys are large, very responsive and offer a positive feedback when they are pressed so you will feel comfortable typing on them. On the sides, you will notice a camera shutter, a 2.5 mm audio jack and a charger port.  The back side presents only a camera and a speaker.

Being a low-budget handset, the Nokia 2630 comes with a poor 1.8 inch TFT display which has a native resolution of 128 x 128 pixels and support for 65K colors. This display will offer good quality images with enough brightness but having a low resolution, the images will be a bit unclear. You also will have problems using the phone under direct sunlight because the display will have a poor visibility. The camera which is present on this phone is a VGA one and it’s capable of taking pictures at a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 and record clips at a maximum resolution of 128 x 96 pixels. The photos will not have a great quality as they are going to be unclear and they will have a low level of details. This camera also lacks a flash so you will not be able to take any photos in a dark environment. The internal memory of the phone is another aspect classic for a low-budget mobile phone. It has only 11 MB of free space without any possibility to extend it. Even so, this memory is enough for you to store several of your favorite photos or songs.

At the connectivity chapter, the 2630 has a poor performance. It is a Dual-Band device (900 / 1800 MHz) and comes with support for GSM, GPRS and EDGE. For other kind of connectivity options it comes only with Bluetooth. Because it lacks some important features like Wi-Fi or 3G, you will be able only to sent SMS, MMS, Instant messaging, emails and access the internet through WAP. The speakers of the phone offer a clear sound with a loud volume. The battery life of the phone is assured by a Li-Ion 700 mAh battery which manages to keep the unit on for up to 6 hours of conversations and up to 310 hours in standby mode.

Nokia 6210

The GPS feature is no longer a spectacular function on a cell phone. In these days, almost all top-rated handsets come with support for GPS along with many other powerful features. For this review we have chosen the Nokia 6210 Navigator, ca mobile phone which comes with GPS with A-GPS support, Nokia Mobile Maps and a digital compass for guidance.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
The Nokia 6210 is a classic clamshell unit which comes with a case made of resistant plastic available in two different colors: black and red. Measuring 103 x 49 x 14.9 mm in dimensions and 117 grams in weight, the Nokia 6210 is another portable phone which feels very comfortable in your hands. The sliding mechanism is solid, making the phone look more compact. It is easy to operate and doesn’t make any noise when it is used. The front side of the Navigator hosts a TFT display plus several navigation buttons: two soft keys, the Call and End keys, a D-Pad, a clear key and a menu button. Above the display a secondary camera for video calls and an ambient light sensor are placed. On the sides you will find only a camera shutter, a volume button, a miniUSB port and a card slot. The top part of the phone is a bit crowded. Here you will find a 2.5 mm audio jack and a charger connector. The numerical pad of this cell phone is beautiful. The keys are large, very responsive and have a pleasant to touch finish. These keys offer a positive feedback and make this numerical pad very comfortable.

When it comes to technology, the Nokia 6210 Navigator makes a good impression. It comes with a 2.4 inches TFT display with a native resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and support for 16 million colors. Being a powerful display, it will offer you great quality images with a nice contrast and great brightness. For photography fans, the 3.15 Megapixel camera is one of the greatest features of this cell phone. Capable of taking pictures at a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, this camera comes armed with autofocus and LED flash. The photos have a great quality with good details. For storing all your files including photos, songs and even movies, the Navigator comes with 120 MB of free space and a microSD card slot which supports up to 8 GB. Powered by an ARM 11 369 MHz processor and 128 MB of RAM memory the 6210 runs a Symbian S60 operating system which offers the possibility to install many applications.

When it comes to connectivity features, the Navigator impresses with its capacities. It comes with Bluetooth, miniUSB , Push-to-Talk and support for GSM, GPRS, EDGE and 3G. But the most important feature of this handset is the GPS support. As we said, it comes with A-GSM support, Nokia Mobile Maps and a digital compass, features which makes this phone able to replace a classic GPS device.  The battery life of this phone is assured by a Li-Ion 950 mAh battery which manages to keep the unit on for almost 3 hours of conversations and up to 240 hours in standby, both in 3G mode.
