Nokia 6030

The Nokia 6030 is a cheap cell phone designed to replace the old classic mobile phones, having the same huge success. Coming with a pleasant and simple design and a low price, the Nokia 6030 will be very popular.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

In terms of design, the Nokia 6030 gives the impression of a resistant and solid cell phone.  The design is simple with rounded edges measuring 104 x 44 x 18 mm in dimensions and 90 grams in weight. On the edges the case presents some glossy strips and even if they are made of plastic, these stripes gives impression of metal. On the front side, the Nokia 6030 hosts a CSTN display and a large numerical pad. There are no buttons on the sides of this cell phone so the charger, the headphone jack and a special Nokia port are placed on the bottom part. The Power On / off button is placed on the top side. As we said, the Nokia 6030 has a large numerical pad. The keys are flat and very responsive, excellent for writing SMS or other texts. The numerical pad also includes two soft keys, a 4-way button, an OK button and the usual Call and End keys. Being a responsive numerical pad, it will offer a comfortable experience during typing.

Placed on the front side, the 1.5 inches CSTN display is good. It has a native resolution of 128 x 128. Supporting 65K colors, this display has proven to be excellent for a cell phone of this range. The images are clear and even if the resolution is quite low, you will receive good quality colors and good contrast. Being a passive display, it is visible even under direct sunlight. If you are a photography fan, the Nokia 6030 is not a good choice. It doesn’t have an integrated camera so you will not be able to take photos or record clips. Even if this feature is essential for a cell phone in our days, we must remember that a cell phone is cheap if it comes only with several features. The internal memory of this cell phone is another aspect which makes this handset to be a simple and classic unit. It has only 3 MB of free space without the possibility to extend it (it lacks a card slot). With such a poor internal memory you will be able to store only several images, polyphonic ringtones or songs.

For connectivity, the Nokia 6030 comes only with the strictly necessary features. It is a dual-band (GSM 900 / 1800 MHz) device and has support for GPRS. Even if it lacks support for 3G and EDGE, you will never run out of network area coverage. Another connectivity possibility is a special interface port (characteristic for Nokia cell phones), a port which allows you to connect the phone to a PC. Because it has poor performances, you probably will expect to get a huge battery life. Well, equipped with a Li-Ion 900 mAh battery, the Nokia 6030 manages to stay on for up to 3 hours of conversations and up to 300 hours in standby mode. Anyway, all these features and characteristics are great for a cell phone which has a price of $60.

Nokia 8801

For those people who love fashion mobile phones,a  new exclusive handset has been launched: the Nokia 8801. Like all fashion cell phones, the 8801 looks  brilliant but doesn't impress with many high-end features.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The Nokia 8801 is a perfect copy of the legendary Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte. The unique difference between them is that the Nokia 8801 comes with other network support. The Nokia  88011 is a cell phone designed for those people who want to stand out. In the standard package you will receive the 8801 and many other accessories: a Bluetooth hands free, a leather cover, a special cloth for removing fingerprints, a classic and a desk charger plus a microUSB cable. In terms of design, the 8801 comes with the same high-quality metallic "candy-bar" case and the same dimensions like the 8800: 107 x 45 x 15 mm and 124 grams in weight.  On the front side, the 8801  hosts an OLED and a numerical pad, including the navigation buttons. The numerical pad is not visible because it's covered by a sliding top. On the sides, this Nokia cell phone comes only with a speaker. Because there are no buttons on the sides, the bottom and the top part of this cell phone are a bit crowded. There you will find a Power On/off button, a microUSB port and the microphone.

The Nokia 8801 comes with a 1.7 inches OLED display with a native resolution of 208 x 208 pixels and support for 256K colors. As we said, this cell phone will not offer powerful features and the display is an example. Having a poor resolution it will offer poor quality images even if the text is clear and visible. Below the display, the numerical pad makes a great impression.

Being an ergonomic numerical pad, it is easy to use and thanks to the very responsive keys you will be able to write SMS comfortably without making mistakes. On the back side, the Nokia 8801 comes with another mediocre feature: a SVGA camera. This camera is capable of taking pictures at a maximum resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and record QCIF clips at a speed of 15 fps. Being a poor camera we recommend to use it only when it is absolutely necessary otherwise you will be disappointed by the results.

For connectivity, the Nokia 8801 comes with Bluetooth, microUSB and support for GSM, GPRS and EDGE. An important aspect is that it is a tri-band device (GSM 850/1800/1900) and supports many GSM network bands. If you choose to buy this cell phone, you must know that the internal memory has only 64 MB of free space without the possibility to extend it. Even so, this internal memory will be enough for you to store your pictures and some songs. Being a small and simple handset, the 8801 comes with a medium-capacity battery but with a good battery life. The standard Li-Ion 600 mAh battery manages to keep this handset on for up to 3 hours of conversations and up to 19 hours in standby mode.

In conclusion we can say that the Nokia 8801 is a beautiful cell phone with a design made of high-quality materials. If the design is the most important aspect for you, this cell phone is the best choice for you but if you are looking for a powerful mobile phone equipped with many features we recommend you choose another model.
