Nokia N95 Specs

Nokia N95 8GB comes in a black case and it has suffered significant changes compared to its predecessor, Nokia N95. The most important change is the internal memory, 8 GB (8.1 GB - because there are 100 MB memory used for messages, ringtones, and others). The display has increased by nearly 1cm in the diagonal and has a QVGA resolution and 16 million colors.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

N95's weak battery model was replaced with one better than ever, leading to increasing stand-by time. The case was also changed; Nokia gave up on using a cover for the camera. Nokia N95 8GB has a Li-Ion 1200 mAh battery, much better than the 950 mAh in the original model (Nokia N95).

Fortunately, the GPS is not missing, though it was a rumor that they will give up on this function to make room for more internal memory.

The memory card slot is not present because the model has an 8GB internal memory, enough to handle a large number of images, videos, songs, applications.

nokia-n95-specs

Some of the differences between the Nokia 95 8GB model (also called Nokia 95-2) and the original N95 are:

• the black color casing
• the screen is larger (2.8" to N95 8GB and 2.6" to N95)
• the main buttons are smaller on N95 8GB
• the multimedia buttons are now in relief
• the microSD slot is gone, the 8GB integrated memory is more than enough
• the new N95 8GB has doubled the RAM memory from 64MB RAM to 128MB RAM

The operating system is a Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1, just like N95 had. The construction of the phone is very solid; let us not forget that N95 8GB is a double slider.

The camera is unfortunately a weak thing of this phone. Even if it has 5 MP resolution and Carl Zeiss lens, it does not have a xenon flash so I would not recommend to take pictures at night or in very low light. At the maximum resolution, the pictures were about 600-800KB, which means it has high compression.

Nokia N76

Along with the launch of N76, Nokia has entered the "slim" mobile market and enters in direct competition with the market symbol - Motorola RAZR. At a first look, the two phones have many similarities in design. Nokia N76 is a smartphone that belongs to the N series and Nokia made no compromise when they made it very thin.

With a thickness of 14 mm (0.5 ") Nokia N76 has some impressive specifications if we compare it to other phones in its class.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

Nokia N76 comes with a package that contains the following: a charger, a USB data cable, some manuals and a software CD.

On the bottom side, Nokia N76 is a copy of 6290, but while 6290 measures 94x50x20.8 mm, the N76 boasts with 106.5x52x13.7 mm; as you can see N76 is taller than 6290 and because of this it is very thin. Nokia N76 is a clamshell phone with a shape similar to Motorola RAZR. The first thing, which reminds us of the RAZR, is the keys that are almost identical to the RAZR. Even the blue light on the keys looks almost identical to the one found on Motorola RAZR.

nokia-n76

The keys on N76 are harder to use than those we find on Motorola. The existing keys on Motorola RAZR have numbers in relief, an advantage we did not find on Nokia N76, and this makes it hard to find the desired key without looking at the keyboard. Despite of this small disadvantage, the keyboard has a good quality and provides feedback when it is pressed. Nokia N76 is available in two colors: black and red.

The phone is easy to hold in hand when the flap is closed, and manages to combine the functionality with a pleasant design. On the front side, you will immediately notice the fingerprints so you must be prepared to wipe this surface often. Because of it, the external display looks a little wiped.

Under the external display, we can see three buttons with which you can easily control the audio player. The buttons are lit in black or red depending on the color combination chosen for the phone. Now let us say a few words about the buttons. Let us start with the right button, that once pressed, activates the radio, and then the other two buttons help you change stations. In standby mode, the middle button is for activating the player. When pressing the left button you can choose the playlist, depending on the artist, genre or most played songs.

nokia-n76

The external display has a dimension of 22x28 mm (1.36 ") and a resolution of 128x160 pixels. It has TFT technology and displays up to 262 000 colors. The screen has no problems in direct sunlight and can display up to six lines of text. Along with N76, Nokia finally offers the possibility to read the text messages (SMS) on the external display. By pressing the left softkey you can read all the messages in the phone. During a call, on the external display you will see a black and white image of the phone. There are a lot of settings that can change the screen's brightness or other settings that let you choose your favorite wallpaper or screensaver etc. Once your device is on standby mode, the external screen enters power saving mode, or if desire you can set your phone to show a digital clock all the time.

On the left side, we find the microSD card slot and next to it, the charger plug. On the right side, we have the dedicated camera button, another button for quick access to the image gallery and the volume control keys, which can also be used for zooming while taking pictures. On the top side, we find the miniUSB slot covered with a rubber cap, the 3.5 mm audio jack and the power button. Unfortunately, the miniUSB port is unable to charge the phone, so Nokia N76 cannot be charged from the laptop. The speaker can be found on the bottom side.

nokia-n762

The new N76 has a QVGA internal display with a resolution of 240x320 pixels that can display 16 million of colors. Above the display, there is a camera for video calls in 3G networks. Nokia N76 is equipped with Bluetooth 2.0, but it does not have A2DP profile support. The average speed on Bluetooth connection is around 100 Kb / s.

Nokia N76's battery has a capacity of 700 mAh and the producer pretends that it will work for about 200 hours in standby mode and up to 2 hours and 45 minutes of talk time. Producer ensures us that N76 can resist up to 8 hours if you listen to music, but in reality, N76 withstands for about 4-5 hours, with the player running non-stop.

Nokia N76 is based on the S60 3rd edition operating system. The phone has an internal memory of 26 MB and supports microSD cards up to 2GB.

nokia-n763

Nokia N76 is equipped with a 2 Megapixel CMOS camera that offers a pretty good quality if the light is just enough, otherwise the picture is blurry. There is a LED with the role of a flash, but it is too weak and it does not help too much when pictures are made very close. The camera has the following resolutions available: 1600x1200, 1152x764, 640x480 and 320x240 pixels. The quality of the pictures varies from "High" to "Normal" and "Basic." There are four ways to take a photo: Single shot, multi-shot, the night mode and the self-timer (you can choose a time between 10-30 seconds and the phone will make one picture).

The video quality is average and the phone records with the following resolutions: 320x240, 176x144 and 128x96 pixels at 15 fps, and the final clip will be saved in 3GP format. There is no limit for video recording the only limit being the memory available.

nokia-n764

Nokia N76 is a smartphone with a successful design and it is placed as a fashion type phone.  As I said, the phone has a successful design, Nokia making a perfect combination between the functionality and a very good design.

Nokia E66

It has been a while since the mobile phones have become essential business tools and a large number of devices are designed specifically for this purpose (not to mention the versions without camera). Even if Nokia E66 does not have a QWERTY keyboard, it still has a business aspect.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

Nokia E66 has dimensions of 107.5x49.5x13.6 mm, it weighs 121 grams, is compact and has a shape that fits in any pocket. The full stainless steel body completes the robust look, being the thinnest smartphone with slide, and this, alone, would be enough for someone to buy.

The receiver is placed above the screen on the front side and has an ambient sensor and cameras for video calls on both sides. Under the 2.4-inch screen, the control keys are arranged traditionally in a D shape. All of them are solid and can be pressed very well, especially the selection and answer / reject call keys.

nokia-e66

You can remove the battery by pressing the two buttons on each side at the bottom. That bottom side, made entirely of metal, which falls off easily, adds some extra points to this phone. Under the lid, we find the microSD card slot and the 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery BL-4U type. Even if it is not as impressive as the one we find on E71 with 1500 mAh, it offers more than a decent performance. The battery resists up to 7.5 hours of talk time and 264 hours in standby mode. It resists for 2 days if you use the phone intensively. The battery is very good for applications like GPS and WiFi.

Nokia E66 has a 2.4 inch screen which supports 16 million colors and has a QVGA resolution. Its performance is as high as in any other Nokia model, with excellent contrast and brightness. The ambient sensor makes the phone very easy to use in any light conditions.

Sliding the phone, we find the alphanumeric keyboard. It has large buttons that can be pressed easily. The only problem is the first row of buttons, the sliding reducing, a little bit, the access to it. It can be a problem for those with more vigorous hands, but apparently, the phone is rather aimed to reduce size than to improve comfort.

nokia-e662

With Nokia E66, it is unlikely to have problems with the reception. The sound during calls is very clear and without interference. The phone benefits from a Smart Dialing option, which will help you call directly from the standby screen. Just press a few buttons and all contacts with the same letters in their first name or last name automatically appear on your phone screen. We made the traditional test of sound and it has proven to be one of the silent phones. Unfortunately, you could miss a call in noisy environments because of that.

Nokia E66 works with Symbian 9.2 series 60 third edition. Similar to the E71, it has Feature Pack 1 installed, but it benefits from many upgrades from Feature Pack 2. It runs with a 369 MHz processor and with 128 MB RAM. The Symbian system makes the phone quickly and efficiently. Even the new animations and menu transitions that occur make no problems to the processor. "Full memory" messages are less likely to appear and you will have to use it a lot to get such a message. A novelty in terms of this phone is the navigation option between two different settings. Each can be customized with its own theme and shortcuts on the screen. Therefore, you can have a relaxation theme and a business theme and you can change from one to another by pressing a single selection button.

nokia-e663

Like any other Symbian phone, it has voice recording. The function is launched through a dedicated button, located on the side and does a good job being dependent only to the transmitter.

On Nokia E66, there are many audio formats supported: MP3, AAC, eAAC + and WMA. M3U playlists are also incorporated and easy to manage. In addition, after completing a transfer via the USB, the phone automatically detects if files transferred are songs and allows you to insert them in the current list. Even if music is not a priority for the E66, the phone responds well to this chapter. There is nothing particularly disturbing, but still, its performances are below average. Knowing that the terminal is dedicated to the business market and that we have seen phones from Nokia with weaker performances, we can say about the E66 that it successfully passes this chapter.

For movies, Nokia E66 uses the well-known Real Player. The player works both in portrait mode and in landscape mode, and supports full screen mode. With this kind of screen, watching movies in full-screen mode is nice. The buttons are hidden automatically, so they do not stand in the way of the content playback. The FM Radio completes the Nokia E66's multimedia. Even if it lacks RDS support, the included Nokia Visual functions, partially cover this lack. If it is allowed, it can download all local radio stations and you can save them with the proper names. The bad side is that it cannot use a WiFi connection.

The image gallery from Nokia E66 is an excellent feature, and it lets you do almost everything you want with your pictures. The camera is one of the elements with which E66 fails to impress. The 3-megapixel camera, the flash LED and the self-portrait mirror sound promising but their performances give them away. The first minus is that E66 has no protection for the lens. That means it will not take long until the camera is scratched if you will not always use a cover. At least Nokia E66 compensates though with a dedicated button for the camera, making it easier to use. The photos taken with the E66 have a medium quality, penalized a little in the shadows chapter.

nokia-e664

The phone has it all in terms of connectivity. From the old infrared port, passing on to the Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0 reaching the Wi-Fi, it is a complete terminal. The 3G comes with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, it has a hot-swapp function, which can sometimes be the fastest way to transfer data. The web browser is one of the best browsers provided by the Symbian operating system. The pages are rendered very clear and include many options for internet browsing. The adjustable font size, the zooming and the other facilities for text, they are all present on the Nokia E66. The virtual mouse cursor takes browsing to a different level above other phones. It is easy to control and has no latency in motion. A mini-map can be enabled to navigate on more complex sites where the long scroll is dedicated. The browser allows portrait and landscape viewing mode.

One of the things we have to talk about is the GPS in Nokia E66. Its sensitivity is not really the best one, but it does its job if you are not pressed by time. The receiver is the same one as in Nokia E71. It takes a lot to initialize and can exceed 10 minutes if you are moving. The GPS functionality may reduce this time but still does not make miracles. However, this phone is not made exclusively for browsing, so you should not ask for too much from him. However, launching GPS is significantly better and rarely exceeds one minute to completely initialize. The maps are the same as in any other model from Nokia.

nokia-e66

Generally, Nokia E66 is as good for business as well as other models with QWERTY keyboard. Maybe it does not have the same keyboard and mighty strength like E71, but this was not the main objective of the Finnish producer when he launched Nokia E66 on the market.

Nokia 5730

Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is one of the few phones in the XpressMusic class that has both QWERTY slide keyboard, and alphanumeric keypad below the screen. Although it is a music dedicated smartphone it does not ignore the Internet users. The phone comes equipped with WiFi, GPS and support for N-Gage games.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

5730 XpressMusic seems a close relative of E75. Although both do about the same things, E75 was designed for business users and 5730 for music addicts.

The phone comes with enough accessories. The pleasant surprise was the 8 GB memory card, enough for a lot of music and many movies. In addition, we received the charger, a microUSB cable, the handsfree headphones with a 3.5 mm jack, some manuals and a software CD.

Nokia 5730 XpressMusic comes in a wide variety of colors. There is a black version, as well as combinations of black with blue, red and pink. The weight of the phone is 139 grams, the length 112 mm, the width 51 mm and is 15.4 mm thick.

nokia-5730

The front side is dominated by the large 2.4 inch screen, above which we have the ambient light sensor and a secondary camera for video calls. Under the screen is the alpha-numeric keypad, which is similar to Nokia 5630 XpressMusic. The directional key is easy to handle. On the left side of the screen we find the music player control buttons, typical for a XpressMusic phone. These seem rather fragile to the touch, but I had no problems with them. The left side is hosting the microUSB port and the microSD memory card slot. Both are covered with plastic caps to prevent dust deposit. I met an annoying problem here, both caps come off hard, you need good fingernails or something sharp. Moreover, there is a problem with extracting the memory card. If you have large fingers, do not think you will get it out.

On the bottom side you will find the charger plug, the microphone and a hand strap slot. On the right side you have two buttons. One of them is the dedicated camera button and the other is used for both volume control and zooming. On the top side, we have the 3.5 mm audio jack. This is not protected from dust.

The back of Nokia 5730 looks good. Fingerprints do not remain on the battery cover, which is excellent. Here you find the 3.2 megapixel camera, equipped with LED flash. Battery cover comes off really hard. Under it we find the Li-Ion 1000 mAh battery, the speaker and the SIM card slot. I do not understand how sound propagates because the cover does not have any opening to allow the sound to get out. Even if the manufacturer says that the battery lasts 300 hours of stand-by in 2G, 270 hours in 3G and 5 hours of talk time on 2G and 4 hours in 3G, you will have to recharge the phone every day.

nokia-57302

Being a smartphone, 5730 XpressMusic is using Symbian OS S60 3rd Edition. The phone has a strong enough processor (369 MHz) and 128 MB of RAM.

The TFT screen is not very large, with 2.4 inch, QVGA resolution (240 x 320 pixels) and 16 million colors. It provides an excellent image (brightness and contrast), being one of the best screens we've seen from Nokia. You will not have problems with it even in bright sunlight. A larger screen would have been better, but that would not have left room for the alphanumeric keypad.

Both keyboards are well made, providing a pleasant feeling to the touch, and are suitable for those who have to write several messages. The buttons at the bottom of the alphanumeric keypad are rather close to the edge, so are somewhat difficult to press. The sliding mechanism seems to have a high quality.
nokia-57303

The menu is standard, only the icons are a little changed from what I have seen so far on Symbian S60 3rd Edition. These can be displayed both as a matrix, and as a list. Because of the accelerometer, the screen can be rotated in landscape mode.

As any other phone from the XpressMusic class, it is made for multimedia. Although the internal memory is only 100 MB, it comes with a card of 8 GB, very good for movies and music. The image gallery surprised me in pleasant way. It is almost identical to that on most phones with Symbian S60 3rd Edition. The images are clear and have bright colors.

The camera has 3.2 megapixels. It has LED flash, autofocus and Carl Zeiss lens. The maximum resolution of a photo is 2048 x 1536 pixels. The lenses are not protected against scratches. The quality of the pictures is generally good; the detail level is decent for a 3.2 megapixel camera. The camera can record a video in VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) with 30 fps. The video player can play files both in portrait, and in landscape mode. Of course, you can look at movies in full screen. Unfortunately, it does not support DivX or Xvid.
nokia-57304

An XpressMusic phone has a music player better than regular phones. The music player on Nokia 5730 XpressMusic supports many formats, including MP3, AAC, eACC + and WMA. The dedicated keys help a lot every time you change a song. The player can run without problems in the background of the screen. The songs can be sorted by several criteria (album, artist, genre). In an XpressMusic it is essential to find a song easy. In this case, the search is made by typing a part of a song's name or an artist. After you upload files via USB, the phone asks you to automatically scan the memory card to check if there are new songs. If it finds something, they will add the files to the music library. If you do not like the sound you hear, you can change the equalizer settings. The Say and Play function, lets you tell the name of the song, and the player automatically recognizes and plays that song. The sound quality is good and the standard headphones are pretty good. You can use them or you can use yours, because the phone has a 3.5 mm audio jack.

The FM radio with RDS is also present. You can save the radio frequencies you listen often. It can be used for streaming Internet radio stations, both via WiFi and 3G.

Being a smartphone, 5730 XpressMusic cannot do discounts on connectivity. You can browse the Internet both via WiFi, and through HSDPA 3.6 Mbps. Where you not have HSDPA, you can use 3G, EDGE or GPRS. The data transfer between the phone and  your computer can be done via microUSB or Bluetooth. Bluetooth supports A2DP profile, so you can connect your wireless stereo headphones.

nokia-57305

The web browser offers a pleasant browsing experience. Even complex pages load relatively quickly and are well displayed. The mouse has a good accuracy and allows you to move quickly in a web page. The phone has enough RAM, so I did not encounter situations where you get the famous error "Memory Full". The browser supports both JavaScript and Flash. A larger screen would have been great.

GPS navigation is possible due to the integrated receiver. The phone comes with Nokia Maps, but you can install other applications too. The surfing is pretty good but a larger screen would have had here several advantages.

The Office functions are also present. The installed viewer lets you open Word, Excel or PowerPoint. You can also read PDF documents.

Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is suitable for those who want a multimedia phone, but you can use it for its business functions or browsing the Internet. This smartphone is almost complete, the only minus is the relatively weak camera.

Nokia 5530

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is a simplified version of Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, which is the first Nokia touch screen terminal. Like its "big brother", 5530 is not a smartphone, but a dedicated music phone. Nokia 5530 XpressMusic was announced in June of 2009 and in August was officially released.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

5530 XpressMusic is a compact candybar, it has a size of 104 x 49 x 13 mm and weighs 107 g. The front side is occupied by the 2.9 inch touchscreen, with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels and support of 16 million colors. Above the screen we find the speaker of the phone and the light sensor.

Like the 5800 model, on the right there is a dedicated tactile key that will display the shortcut links to media submenus. Under the screen we see the D-pad that consists of 3 tactile buttons. The call and end / reject call buttons are positioned in the extremities and the middle button takes the user on the phone's main menu. Nokia 5530 XpressMusic has a stylus, and it is hidden in a special spot in the back side of the phone. Unfortunately, this spot is not very accessible, being placed on the left and not on the right.

nokia-5530

The sides of Nokia 5530 are pretty loaded. The left presents two slots, one in which the user will insert the SIM card and one for the microSD card. The two slots are hidden behind a long flap. The right side is even more loaded: here we find the double volume key, a lock or unlock key for the touch screen and a dedicated camera button.

On the upper side we find the on / off power button and on the lower side we have the USB cable slot, the standard 3.5 mm audio jack and the charger slot. The back side of the phone is occupied by the 3.2 MP camera and an LED flash. The battery cover is made from a very thin plastic and besides this the cap is not stable and it can break very easily.

nokia-55302

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is powered by a standard lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1000 mAh, which in theory will hold up about 360 hours in standby mode and up to 4 hours of talk time or 27 hours of continuous music playback.

Even if this is not a smartphone, Nokia 5530 runs the Symbian operating system. The terminal has an internal memory of 70 MB, but because it has a microSD card slot, the user can do an upgrade up to 16 GB. In addition, the phone comes with a  4 GB microSD card. In stand-by mode, the screen displays different shortcuts at the bottom.

Above the band with shortcuts is displayed the signal, the connectivity, the power of the battery, the time, the mobile phone operator and the date. On the screen, the user finds two virtual buttons, one that activates the keypad of the phone and the second that displays the contacts. 5530 has a standard menu, with icons displayed in three columns and four rows.

nokia-55303

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is a dedicated music phone. The music player can be accessed via the main menu or from the shortcut located on the vertical bar on the screen. Unlike Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, if you store music on the 4 GB card, the phone will automatically detect the files from the music player. However, opening the menu of the phone is made with double click and not a simple touch.

The sound volume can be increased by using the physical side buttons, located on the right side. However, here we have a surprise. The sound is best played by the external speakers. Nokia 5530 has a standard 3.5 mm audio jack in case you want to change the headphones.

The music player from 5530 XpressMusic supports MP3, WMA, WAV and AAC + files. The stored songs can be sorted by album, artist, or genre. Nokia 5530's camera is not one of the best, because it only has 3.2 MP. The photo sensor is helped by the autofocus, the LED flash and the Carl Zeiss lenses. In addition, the terminal is able to make videos in VGA resolution with 30 fps. The photos taken with the 5530 XpressMusic have a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. However, Nokia 5530 is doing pretty well. In natural light, they have very good details and colors, but in artificial light, the sensor loses the focus. 5530 XpressMusic has the standard connectivity technology: GPRS Class 32, EDGE Class 32, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and miniUSB port. If the card is missing, data transfer will be made by PC Suite II, which is on the CD in the package. Nokia 5530 XpressMusic comes with a built-in GPS receiver, and the information for the GPS can be downloaded using 2G, 3G or Wi-Fi. The user can use the Nokia Maps service.

Although somewhat more modest, 5530 XpressMusic is comparable to Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, more, this new model seems to be exactly what most users wanted from the first Nokia touch screen. The phone receives points for appearance, music player, connectivity and for the ease of navigation on the Internet. Unfortunately, the materials used for this phone are not so great, making the phone to look like a cheap copy.
