Philips is taking its chances with the impressive number of Xenium cell phones that were launched in the past couple of months, because it might drive customers to madness and boredom. It’s a very well known fact that novelty is a great advantage for every cell phone manufacturer, if there’s a slight desire shown by the company concerning to the increasing of sales.

However, there’s another Philips phone prepared for its customers, and, as usual, it is targeted at the Russian market. It is called Philips Xenium X650, a slider phone that is similar to any other Xenium device that you might have run into as far as the battery life is concerned. The X650 is able to provide up to 8 hours of talk time and a month of stand-by time.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

As for the list of features, it’s not too impressive, as it comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, a 2.4 inches 262K color TFT LCD display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz), GPRS, Bluetooth and USB, an integrated FM radio, an internal memory of 30MB and a microSD card support. The phone measures 104.5 x 52 x 16.75 millimeters and weighs 133.9 grams.

It seems, of course, that the Philips X650 is aimed at the low-end market, so it will surely come with a very advantageous price.

The Philips Xenium X830 has shown its face for the first time sometime at the beginning of last month (June, to be more precise) and it then managed to make a very good impression on those who are into cool cell phones. As far as the design is concerned, the X830 won’t disappoint anyone, but the list of features isn’t quite impressive, because there are some features, considered to be must haves, that aren’t available within this phone. Such an example is the lack of 3G.

We have the official list of features at our disposal, but what’s even better is that we also have a couple of official pictures of this Xenium phone.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The features include quad band GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE, a 3 inch TFT touch sensitive display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, a 5 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, music player, video player, FM radio with RDS, an internal memory of 47MB and a microSDHC card slot to help you expand the memory with no more than 8GB. The phone measures 105 x53 x 15.5 millimeters and weighs 120 grams.

Being part of the Xenium series, the X830 comes with a battery that is able to provide up to 10 hours of talk time and 1.5 months of stand-by time. If you wonder about the available of this handset, we don’t know right now when it is expected to start selling.

As I said it many times before, each time I had the occasion, the Philips phones are very well known all over the globe for a very important aspect: their long lasting batteries. I’m talking about the Xenium family, of course. And the last Xenium device that I told you about is the X320.

Now, there’s another one in the spotlight, the Philips Xenium X630, a quite good-looking canybar that is expected to become available sometime during this near, in the next couple of months. Chances are high for this phone to start selling in the Chinese market at first.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

Being a low-end phone, at the most a mid-end one, the X630’s main disadvantage is the lack of the 3G connectivity, which is a must these days when it comes to the most popular cell phones to be bought by customers.

The list of features includes a 2.4 inches QVGA display with 262k colors, a 3.2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth with A2DP, music player and FM radio, and a microSDHC card slot for expandable memory of no more than 8GB.

The most important feature consists of the 1530 mAh battery which is able to provide up to 12 hours of talk time and no more than 50 days of stand-by time. The new Philips phone measures 111.8 x 48.9 x 15.1 millimeters and weighs 118 grams.

Unfortunately, this is right about everything we know about the X630 for the moment. The details about the release date and the price are not available.

It seems that companies have many cell phones to present to the public in this time of year and they come with an offer we can’t refuse: they don’t give us one handset, but two or even more. So relax, guys, get your umbrella and a glass of Martini, laze under the summer sun and hear what they have prepared for you.

Philips, for example, is ready to “give birth” to two new cell phones, which were baptized before their release with the following names: C600 and W186.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

Let’s talk about the first one, the Philips C600. The handset is a dual-mode one, which means it is able to work on two networks: both on tri band GSM networks (900/1800/1900 MHz) and on CDMA 800 MHz. A very interesting aspect consists of the fact that there are two different call keys which are dedicated to each of the two networks.

As for the features, it’s possible that you won’t be impressed, but here we go: a 2.4 inch QVGA touch sensitive display, a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, MP3 player, an internal memory of only 2.5 megapixel (oh my God!, this is worse than my ex-phone, a Nokia 6170 with no more than 4MB of memory and no card support) and a microSD card support, for expandable memory of up to 2GB.

The second cell phone, the Philips W186, was designed for the Wo brand, of China Unicom. It comes with tri band GSM and dual band UMTS, HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, a 2 inch TFT display with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels, a 2 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, Bluetooth with A2DP connectivity, FM radio, an internal memory of 150MB (decent, compared to the other one) and a microSD card slot for external memory of no more than 8GB.

We don’t know when the Philips phones will come out, nor the prices.

Maybe the Philips cell phones are not appreciated just like they would deserve to be, due to the fact that the consumers don’t have the chance to know very much about these devices. In the Western hemisphere, for example, the cell phone users are not very familiar with the Philips phones, but what you should know is that they come with a very important feature: the long lasting battery life. And, if you ask me, this is a fundamental aspect when it comes to a phone.

The Xenium family is well known for the fact that they provide a month (or more) of standby time and approximately 8 hours of talk time. And it seems there’s another durable device to be prepared to hit the market in the near future: the Philips Xenium X320.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

As usual, the phone comes with an impressive battery life, but, in addition, it is equipped with FM radio, an integrated FM telescopic antenna, tri band GSM 900/1800/1900, GPRS/EDGE connectivity, a 2.2 inch QVGA TFT display, a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, MP3 player and an external memory provided by a microSD card support. The battery is an 1050 mAh one.

As you can see, the Philips cell phone isn’t ground-breaking as far as the features are concerned, which means it will be an affordable device.

Ok. This is a little bit too much and it gets kind of weird. I wrote about the Philips X530 and it was only a week ago. I also wrote about the Philips X700, because come on! When a cell phone is brought in the spotlight, you can’t pretend you don’t see it! You just can’t! And when I thought that it was right about everything Philips could have prepared for us, I’ve been hit with another handset: the X810. I don’t quite understand if something’s wrong or not and why, all of a sudden, we’re given the pleasure to delight our eyes with so many Philips phones.

This time, things are a little bit different. Different from what we’ve been familiar with so far. The X810 comes with a TFT touchscreen display with a resolution of 240×320 pixels and 262K colors and has a navigation pad, which, most probably, is touch-sensitive.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The full features list consists of: quad band GSM connectivity with EDGE (but it lacks 3G), a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, Bluetooth connectivity, USB, media player, an internal memory of 45MB and, of course, microSDHC card slot. The phone measures 104 x 52 x 14.4 millimeters and weighs 100 grams, providing up to one month of stand-by time.

The Xenium X810 is expected, of course, to become available, with arms wide open, but unfortunately the release date is unknown for the moment.

There are just a couple of days since I told you about the Xenium X530, the latest Philip phone released in the market, and I already found another device, also Philips branded, to present to you. The X530 is, as I told you before, an entry-level handset equipped with a very powerful battery, which is, after all, the characteristic that one can find on each and every phone that is part of the Xenium family.

Now, this one, on the other hand, is a clamshell called Xenium X700 and comes with the most common disadvantage of the Philips phones, the lack of the 3G connectivity, which means that data transfers will be based only on GPRS and EDGE.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The new Philips phone comes with the following features: quad band GSM connectivity, a 2.4 inch TFT internal display with 262k colors and a resolution of 240×320 pixels, a 2.0 inch TFT external display, which is a QVGA one, a 3.2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, music player, video player and FM radio with RDS. It measures approximately 103 x 54 x 15 millimeters.

As for the advantages, the most important is undoubtedly the powerful battery, which is something like a leit motif of the Xenium family. Therefore, the battery provides up to 450 minutes of talk time and no more than 720 hours of stand-by time.

If you’re curious about the availability, let me tell you that the Xenium X700 is expected to hit the Chinese market pretty soon and the European also, in countries like Romania, Russia and Turkey, with a retail price of $220.

After so many articles about Nokia handsets, Samsung or Sony Ericsson ones, here is a piece of good news coming from a company that is often neglected: Philips. The latest Philips phone to be announced is the Xenium X530, which is branded with the Philips name, even if it’s manufactured by a Chinese company. Don’t worry, it’s practically the same thing, as the mobile division of Philips Electronics was bought by this company.

The phone is an entry-level one, coming with the following features: tri band GSM/EDGE connectivity (900/1800/2100 MHz), a 2.2 inch internal TFT display with a resolution of 240×320 pixels and 262k colors, an 1 inch OLED external display, a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity with A2DP, music player, FM radio with RDS, NXP 5210 chipset. The new Philips phone measures approximately 99.1 x 47.1 x 18 millimeters.

Anyway, being part of the Xenium family, one thing’s for sure: the device will come a long-lasting battery. In the given context, the X530 provides up to 8 hours of talk time and up to 850 hours of stand-by time.

The phone has recently received the approbation of FCC and it’s expected to hit Asian and European markets only. However, the details about the pricing or the release date are still unknown.

The holidays can easily turn into a genuine nightmare for those who lack inspiration when it comes to buying presents to their dearest ones. It’s quite difficult to come up with a brilliant idea, even if we’re talking about people who you’re supposed to know very well. It’s difficult because the market it’s overloaded and there’s nothing that one might need which is nowhere to be found.

Still, a very good idea is a nice looking phone, part of a limited edition, especially released on certain occasions. A relevant example is the Philips 9@9q, an old model that was beautifully adorned for the holiday season. The special version of this popular Philips cell phone, the Xenium 9@9q, has two new counterparts, called Dragon and Phoenix, and they’re aimed at all of you out there who are fashion-conscious.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

Equipped with stunning features, the two mobile phones could easily be the gifts you were looking for, perfect for the New Year. First of all, both cell phones are very well polished, having smooth curves that point out the elegant silhouette of the clamshell. You can also observe the presence of an external display that is placed on both flip sides of the phone which make it easier for the users to check out vital information, including messages they didn’t have the chance to read, the calls they missed or the remaining battery power.

Inside the new outfit lies the same old Xenium you all know already. A very strong feature which makes the phone distinguish itself from other similar devices is the battery which provides up to 8 hours of talk time and up to approximately 1 month of stand-by time. This way, the Dragon and the Phoenix are two fashion-centric phones that amaze everyone with their long battery life.

As far as the price is concerned, the recommended retail price for both Dragon and Phoenix is approximately 4999 rubles or $172 USD.

After the introduction of their latest device, the X600 Xenium, which was designed to have a long battery life, Philips came up with another music phone, releasing the new E100. As a matter of fact, let’s be honest, Philips cell phones aren’t recognized worldwide for bringing into the spotlight the most impressive and ground-breaking technologies. The only thing they are very good at is the fact that they provide superior battery life and this feature has become, in time, the main selling point. This means that many of those devices’ features aren’t revolutionary, therefore nor up-to-date. The E100 is a low-end handset in a candybar design and features only the bare basics, so you shouldn’t put your hopes too up, because there is not even a VGA camera that the device comes equipped with.

Being a budget minded mobile handset that should come with a reasonable price tag, the Philips E100 brings simplicity into the mobile world with its 1.8 inches 65k display, featuring a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels, enough for personalizing it with screensavers and wallpapers.

Among this phone’s features are included: an integrated FM radio, GSM / GPRS support, a WAP 2.0 / xHTML browser, a clock, an alarm, a calculator, a calendar, voice memo, T9 and handsfree. As far as the music lovers are concerned, there is an MP3 playback option, the device being able to recognize MP3 / WAV / AAC formats.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

You might be disappointed by the fact that the E100 has a whopping 2MB of integrated memory (yes, you’ve read it right, I said megabytes), but you’ve got the possibility of increasing the storage due to the microSD card slot (TransFlash) of up to 2GB (this is one compulsory feature, if you ask me, as the internal memory is so… rudimentary).

The Philips E100 measures 104 x 44 x 13.7 millimeters and weighs 75 grams and it’s expected to be available this month at a price around $60 in selected retail stores. As I’ve said it before, the phone it’s a music-dedicated one, so it doesn’t come with a camera. It might not catch your eye whatsoever, unless you’re looking for a simple standard device.
