Omnia Samsung

Samsung Omnia is the smartphone that has it all: spacious touchscreen, haptic feedback, accelerometer, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 5 megapixels camera and some great multimedia features. Even though the smartphone is a bit more expensive than other cell phones in its range, the price is worth paying if you need a performing cell phone that can manage your basic calling needs and up to multimedia tasks. Of course, like any other touchscreen phone, the display should be the main interest and it is surely the case of Samsung Omnia. The 3.2” TFT screen with a pixel resolution of 240x400 and support for 262.000 colors, is perfect for viewing clear images, texts and more.

Furthermore, to add a bit more sparkle to the display, the TouchWiz interface is present here as well. It allows you to customize the home screen with various widgets. You will see a bar on the left side loaded with applications, games, music player, clock and notepad.

You drag any of these widgets to the home screen in order to have instant-access to theme ach time you turn on your phone. You can always collapse the applications you don’t want anymore and arrange the widgets the way you want to. But you can’t add as many widgets as you would like, you are limited to 16. But these should be enough for having your most-used in the trey. You can have your messages, calendar, web browser, contacts, games, pictures and more. If you are not a big fan of how things look, you can always go to the basic Windows Today screen or choose from other themes available. When it is time to add some text, send some e-mails or type some web addresses, you have several options. You can either use the full QWERTY keyboard, the Block Recognizer, Transcriber and some other options as well. It is advised to turn the keyboard in landscape mode in order to type better.

You also get to sense every move you make thanks to the haptic feedback (which can be adjusted when it comes to its intensity). The built-in accelerometer will turn your phone from portrait to landscape each time you turn the phone. In order to navigate online you can use the Wi-Fi or the 3G feature.

You can also choose from two web browsers, Internet Explorer Mobile or Opera Mobile Web browser. You will definitely find the second one more useful. And due to the GPS you will be able to get your location stabilized. But in order to get more advantages such as real-time turn-by-turn directions, traffic data and so on, you will have to get additional service and pay extra. Because Samsung Omnia runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 professional Edition, you also get to use Microsoft Office Mobile Suite. Among other features, the phone comes loaded with smart convertor, games, task manager, POP3 and IMAP e-mail accounts, PDF reader, calculator and some of the other basic specs.

In addition to all these, the phone has support for most of the media files and has Windows Media Player 10 Mobile and Touch Player. You can choose between the 8GB or the 16GB Samsung Omnia, depending on how much space you need to store all your media files, applications and other software.

Samsung F480 Pink

Samsung has a wide collection of touch screen phones, one better than  the other. Most of them feature intuitive features, easy-to-use  interface and a nice scrolling experience. The phones are very  functional and they provide all you need for your everyday calling,  messaging and surfing around. One good example of a great-looking cell  phone is the <strong>Samsung F480</strong> in <strong>pink</strong>.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
Of course there are  other colors when it comes to design, including the pink one with the  beautiful flowers engraved in the case. If you want to look good and be  admired for your taste in stylish gadgets, then you will definitely  shine with the <strong>pink Samsung F480</strong>.

But here is not all about design; the features you will find will  turn out to be functional. For example, the phone is very easy to use,  has a great camera, Bluetooth, 3G and 228MB internal memory. On the down  side, the phone lacks Wi-Fi, GPS and accelerometer, so you can’t call  it a smart phone for sure. It is your basic good-looking touch screen  phone.  If you are more familiar to Samsung Omnia, you should know that  these two look very alike, the main difference is that <strong>Samsung F480</strong> has a smaller display.  What is more, this pink gadget has a brushed  metal finish, giving it a sturdy design and a pleasant feel. The  capacitive touch screen will react only at the touch of your finger, so  you can’t use the stylus or other accessories in order to scroll around.

In this case as well, the TouchWiz interface is the one that shines.  The menu items are large and colorful, so even if you use your fingers  it will be very easy to navigate around.  If you plan on expanding the  memory and storing lots of applications and games, you should know that  not all of the work. The phone runs on Samsung's proprietary operating  platform, so you can install only Java-based software.  But you don’t  have to make any concerns related to this issue as online you will find  everything you need for your mobile phone.

The five megapixels camera with LED flash takes really nice pictures  and you will find the phone very useful each time you travel and not  only. The web browser installed is great and web pages will show up  entirely.  Most of the multimedia files are supported and you can use  the phone for listening to music and watching MPEG4 video files.  Even  if the features you will encounter in this mobile phone are few, their  performance is definitely high. For example, call quality is strong,  sending text messages and composing e-mails is done fast and easy with  the T9 keypad and the speed of navigating through the menu is exactly  how it is supposed to be.  The 5 megapixels camera has a lot of editing  options and you can adjust the shooting modes, the white balance, mode  adjustments and choose from several quality modes.

To conclude, it is nice to see a cell phone that does things right,  doesn’t brag a lot about some qualities, a functional phone  with a responsive touch screen, multimedia features and a very  attractive design.

Samsung Impression Review

<strong>Samsung Impression</strong> is one of the products included in the Samsung Touch screen collections. This phone features a gorgeous display, intuitive design  and a comfy spacious keyboard. Call quality, overall performance and  features are great and you can rely on them for managing any task you  have.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
But of course, there are some drawbacks as well, for instance the camera does not have flash, there is only a proprietary headset jack and  there aren’t as many shortcuts on the keyboard.  Maybe this phone is  not the ideal one, but let’s face it, all of them have something to  complain about, but when it comes to multimedia and messaging features,  you can easily rely on it.

<strong>Samsung Impression</strong> is rather big and heavy, measures 4.48  inches long by 2.28 inches wide by 0.61 inch deep and weights 5.3  ounces, giving it a solid, sturdy feel once you hold it in your hands.  The phone is attractive, because if you take a closer look it is not  black, but dark blue in fact and with those rounded corners, it does  look nice.  The touch screen is of course one of the main attractions.  Measuring 3.25”, being reasonably-sized, you have room for scrolling  through some long web pages or some lists with games or applications.  Furthermore, you can say the display is just gorgeous, colors looking  bright and animations sharp.

You will see that below the display are  three touch controls for the phone dialer and for the main menu. The  dialer features large numbers and you will have no problems dialing the  wrong number.  The menu interface is easy to use, same as for any  Samsung’s touch screen phone. Even though you might have lots and lots  of widgets you will find them fast due to the “power search”, which  finds your entry or widget by texting the first letter of the word. You  can customize the display by adjusting the font type, the brightness and  the backlighting time.

The TouchWiz interface is used here as well; you have the shortcut  widgets and the navigation bar, full of the main widgets you can think  of. It would have been nice is this interface allowed you to add the  widgets you liked, but unfortunately, this feature is not available. As  for the physical controls, there are three of them: Talk/End buttons and  the Clear keys. Even though they are flat to the surface of the phone,  they are still tactile and nicely spaced. On the right side you will  find the camera shutter button and the locking key and on the left side  you will find the volume rocker and the shortcut control.

As <strong>Samsung Impression</strong> is more than a touch screen phone, it features also a physical  keyboard. All you have to do to reveal it is to slide the display to the  right. You will be facing a spacious keyboard with tactile buttons,  offering great comfort for texting and e-mailing. If you don’t feel like  using this keyboard and you just have to add a short text you can use  the onscreen keyboard or the handwriting recognition tool.

On the back of the phone is the 3 megapixels camera, which can take  pictures in five resolutions and also has a lot of editing and setting  options. You will be impressed by the photo quality.

Samsung Instinct Review

<strong>Samsung Instinct </strong>is one of those touch screen phones you get  for the looks. The phone is indeed sleek and looks attractive, has  easy-to-use features and it is highly recommended for its messaging and  GPS specifications, but unfortunately it lacks some of the specs a real  smartphone must have: Wi-Fi.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
Furthermore, the instant messaging is also  missing, the internal memory is small and the camera doesn’t have  editing features, this characteristic being present even in the classic  cell phones.  You can find this phone at an affordable price if you get a  data plan. You can also rely on its performance and features on-board,  all wrapped up in a good look.

As for design, the phone measures 4.57 inches by 2.17 inches by 0.49  inch and weights 4.4 ounces, it feels sturdy when you hold it in your  hands. The phone is attractive due to the black scheme and the silver  one.  The display of the <strong>Samsung Instinct</strong> measures 3.1”, has  support for 262.000 colors and a pixel resolution of 432x240. With all  these characteristics, the display is stunning, colors seem like coming  out of the screen alive and text looks very sharp and crisp. You can  also make some customization regarding this chapter, but you can’t  change the menu and the text’s font.  You should also know that for  browsing the internet, reading some documents, you might have some  scrolling to do.  The interface will appeal for those looking for simple  and easy-to-use. On the bottom of the display you will note four icons  for the menus (Web, Fun, Favs and Fun). Each of the menus show something  different and it is nice to see a phone with something different, aimed  at all user types.

For example, the Favs menu stocks your favorite functions and  settings; the Main menu is for messaging, GPS and organizers, all you  need for your daily basis tasks. You can imagine that the Fun menu is  especially designed for multimedia, games, camera and everything in this  sector. And last, but not least, the Web menu shows the shortcuts for  the browser. An important thing we should note here is that only the Fun  and the Web menus are customizable. Everything is easy and you can  manage most of your tasks using these intuitive menus.  You will note  from the moment you touch the screen that your command has been  registered due to the haptic feedback. In case you feel bothered by  this, you can always turn this feature off. In order to scroll through  your files, settings, you just slide your finger up and down, a very  pleasant experience indeed.  Besides the touch screen, there are also  three small touch controls, a Back button, Home button and the calling  control. Some of the keys might seem unresponsive at times, requiring  double pressing.

When you want to start typing, you can use the alphabetic keyboard,  which automatically is placed in landscape mode, this meaning larger  buttons and easier to use.  In case you have some doubts, you can  magnify the text you have written to check if it is correct. In the  contact address you can add up to 600 contacts and for each there is  enough room for other entries, such as phone numbers, e-mail addresses,  notes and URL.

Design is very important in a mobile phone and when the rest are interested in pulling out some average looking phones, Samsung has something special for you. First of all, the touch screen is responsive and the interface is easy-to-use. Some of the other features include Bluetooth, 3G and 228MB internal memory. On the bad side, the phone does not have Wi-Fi, GPS or accelerometer, so don’t get your high hopes when you think you can turn the phone in order to see a picture better and so on. If you put Samsung Omnia and this Samsung cell phone next to each other, you will see there is no big difference, maybe a slight one when it comes to the touch screen. The touch screen is here capacitive and not resistive, meaning you can only use your fingers and not the stylus, because it is not recognized.

The interface is the well-known TouchWiz home screen with customizable widgets. The menu items are large and colorful and you will have a pleasure navigating through them all. Because this phone runs on Samsung’s operating system you can’t install all sort of applications you find online, just the Java-based software. But you don’t have to worry about this, because there are plenty anyway. Even though there is no Wi-Fi, you can still choose a good data plan with your service provider and get some options for internet browsing.

The browser on this Samsung F480 Coral Pink La Fleur is excellent, with clean and easy-to use interface. There is support for the majority of the multimedia files such as MP3, AAC, and MPEG4 and online you can choose from various music players if you don’t like the one on-board. As for the overall performance, the calling quality is high, texting is done easily and fast due to the T9 keypad and the navigation experience for running applications and scrolling around is smooth and very pleasant.

We also should note the 5 megapixels camera, which takes some impressive pictures and you can choose from various shooting modes, choose also some of the quality settings, balance settings and all sort of other editing options. To conclude, if your main interest is a gorgeous mobile phone with some functional features, then you will not be disappointed with the Samsung F480 Coral Pink La Fleur.
