Rumors said that Instinct is going to be the next pink Samsung mobile phone that is going to hit the market, but it was expected to become available sometime in February, just before the day that you’ve all been waiting for: the Valentine’s Day.

Proving itself to be anxious about this new release, Sprint, one of the largest American wireless telecommunications networks, has just announced “the immediate availability†of the Samsung Instinct, dressed in a pink outfit. The device is a great success for the provider, accounting approximately one-fifth of all handsets sold by Sprint, during the first two weeks that the Instinct was available.
“Instinct has been a great success for us from both a sales and innovation perspectiveâ€, said Kevin Packingham, Sprint SVP of Product Development. In addition, he said that “we are thrilled with our customer’s response to this dynamic, well-integrated and easy-to-use wireless phone. Bringing the price under $100 will make it even more accessible to customers who want the best of Sprint’s 3G network on a powerful touchscreen deviceâ€.

You should know that as far as the features are concerned, this pink version of the Instinct won’t bring more novelties compared to the old device. Therefore, the only difference consists of the color. The features of the pink Samsung mobile phone include: Visual Voicemail that allows users to listen to their messages in the order they prefer, stereo Bluetooth 2.0, SMS voice and text messaging, HTML Web experience, a picture caller ID, a 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder, microSD card for expandable memory of up to 8 GB.
Another great news about the pink Samsung mobile phone is the fact that it comes with an affordable price, at least for a limited period of time. More than that, the same goes for the black version of the device. Therefore, you can purchase your own Instinct handset for only $99.99, after a $100 rebate and a two year agreement. The Samsung Instinct is said to be available in Sprint stores from all over US, but if you won’t find it this way, you will find it online. That’s for sure.

The world never stops from following its natural course, even if sometimes it seems that everything it’s messed up, going in the wrong way. It doesn’t matter that a couple of days ago it was still the holiday time. Some people don’t seem to bother themselves in order to give this special moment a little bit of attention. It doesn’t matter that the economic crisis is the worst enemy of human beings all over the world. There are still lots of people who are not affected by the recession and who will never be.

In the given context, there’s no surprise for anyone that cell phones manufacturers, for example, mind their own business, as if there was nothing to knock them down. As if they were indestructible. Look at the numerous handsets that were announced, unveiled, released in these first days of the new year and you will surely understand.

Samsung, for example, has just released a new clamshell, which was presented to the public under the name of SCH-r470 or TwoStep. Aimed at multimedia features addicts (or enthusiasts, whatever you might want to call them), the Samsung TwoStep is a basic phone that won’t impress you if you’re into high-end devices. This is why it comes with a very affordable price, which makes it a quite interesting option in these difficult times.

The TwoStep is equipped with a music player that comes with easy-to-use music controls, stereo speakers, a microSD card for expandable memory of up to 8GB. Other features of this Samsung clamshell phone include: a 2 inch TFT internal display with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels and 262K colors, a 1.3 megapixel cameraSMS and MMS capabilities, Bluetooth connectivity and voice recognition services.
Measuring 3.58 x 1.77 x 0.75 inches and weighing 3.6 ounces, the flip phone provides up to 3 hours of talk time and up to 10 days of stand-by time. Samsung TwoStep is already available for purchasing from U.S. Cellular, one of the largest American providers. And, with a two year agreement, it will cost you only $49.95.

For those who don’t know, MetroPCS is one of the most important wireless telecommunications networks that function all around the United States, occupying the ninth place, with more than 4.8 million subscribers. The company announced the fact that a brand new entry-level Samsung cell phone will be added to their line-up, Samsung SCH-R310, also known under the name of Byline.

The Samsung SCH-R310, a minimalist clamshell, comes in a black and red design and it’s equipped with basic features which are – and this is the most important aspect, after all – functional. This means that the phone is perfect for those who are looking for fast access to their dearest ones, from friends to family and colleagues.
Even if one can’t find the cell phone on the American provider’s website, Samsung USA has already announced its availability via MetroPCS.

The main advantage of the Byline is that, by just pushing one button, you’re ready to go. The device has the capabilities of a walkie-talkie which are successfully combined with the benefits of a sophisticated cell phone. From texting, email to a full Web browser, the Byline has it all.
The features of the new Samsung SCH-R310 include: 1.77 inch CSTN internal display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and 65K and a CSTN external display with a resolution of 96 x 96 and 65K colors, Bluetooth connectivity, SMS, EMS and MMS capabilities, metroWEB, navigation key, speakerphone and an advanced voice recognition feature.

The Byline weighs approximately 3.25 ounces and measures 3.5 x 1.7 x 0.77 inches. The standard Lithium-ion battery, which is rechargeable, provides up to 3.5 hours of talk time and up to 200 hours of stand-by time.
Releasing such a simple flip phone, just in time for the Christmas, might be a good stroke of business for the American carrier. Still, there are no details yet about the price of this brand new Samsung device.

It seems that the end of 2008 proves to be very prolific for Samsung, as the company doesn’t spare any effort and wastes no minute in its attempt to capture everyone’s attention. From Tocco to Innov8, which both have created sensation, Samsung gives us to understand that the road to success has no mysteries whatsoever. Not anymore. In the given context, another Samsung device has recently been released.

Therefore, the latest Samsung mobile phone is Pixon, which might be known by some of you under the name of Samsung Bresson (the pre-market name of the Pixon). This is the second handset designed by the South Korean manufacturer, equipped with an 8 megapixel camera, being somehow the successor of the Symbian-powered Samsung i8510 Innov8.
You must clearly understand that Samsung M8800 is not a smartphone, even if it has an impressive 3.2-inch touchscreen display. The device, on the other hand, isn’t provided with a keyboard, but it features the same TouchWiz interface as other well known devices such as Samsung Omnia or Samsung Tocco.

The features the latest Samsung mobile is equipped with include: quad-band GSM, tri-band HSDPA, a 3.2 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 240x400 pixels, the 8 megapixel camera I’ve told you earlier, with auto focus, face recognition (smile and blink detection), wide dynamic range (WDR), advanced shake reduction( ASR), GPS geotagging and a WVGA (with a resolution of 720 x 480 pixels) and VGA (with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels) at 30 frames per second.
In addition, there are an integrated GPS receiver, an accelerometer, Bluetooth connectivity, FM radio with RDS, virtual QWERTY keyboard in the landscape mode and the possibility for you to expand the internal memory (200 MB) of the handset with microSD card support up to 8GB. Samsung M8800 Pixon measures 107.9 x 54.6 x 13.8 millimeters and weighs 121 grams.
The device is available starting the 1st of November in the United Kingdom, but it is expected to start selling on most major mobile providers.

I was writing yesterday about two new Samsung handsets, E1410 and E1117 that are part of the low-end line of devices that the company has always taken care of. Today the next in line is the mid-end range, which is completed from now on with a brand new handset, the Samsung W690.

The clamshell is available for the large public in two different colors, so you can choose between black or white, looking both very elegant and exquisite. The alphanumeric keypad has large keys, so it seems to be very user-friendly.
The phone distinguishes itself with the 2.6 inch internal AMOLED display that has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and 262k colors. You can find a similar display on Nokia N85 smartphone, part of the Nseries. The main difference is that the one the N85 is equipped with supports 16 million colors.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
Other features of the Samsung W690 include: GSM and HSDPA connectivity, GPS, an external display that is a 1.5 inch OLED that has a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels and 65k colors, an integrated MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity and a 2 megapixel camera. Measuring 101 x 51.6 x 16.95 millimeters and weighing 123 grams, the device is equipped with a 800 mAh battery.
Even if there might be lots of potential customers among those who get the chance to read about this mid-end Samsung device, I’ll have to give you some bad news. Unfortunately, there are no details yet about Samsung W690 to be released outside South Korea. So, if you’re one of the lucky ones who live in this country from East Asia, then maybe you’ll be able to enjoy the benefits of this brand new device. If not, pray for Samsung to consider the idea of releasing it worldwide.
