Samsung phone in a stylish outfit

If style is a very important aspect for you when you’re trying to make up your mind on a handset, then you should take into consideration the cell phone that Samsung has just launched in Hong Kong. If I told you the name, you’d probably say that you’ve already heard about it, and you wouldn’t be wrong. It’s called Ultra S S7350, but it’s a special edition of the handset.

The full name of this new version is Samsung Anycall Ultra S S7350H Elegant Edition (so obvious!) and it’s aimed at women and girls, of course, because they are the ones to be dead keen on such devices. Pink devices, I mean. However, if you’re a man and the phone is on your liking, I suppose there’s nothing in your way if you want to have one of your own.

The Ultra S Elegant Edition comes with features like a 2.6 inch WQVGA display, a 5 megapixel camera, 3G, GPS and a microSDHC card slot for expandable memory (of no more than 16GB). As you can see, the new version is similar to the old one.

What’s different is the color, called Sakura Pink, the leather pouch, which is also pink and the makeup mirror, to help ladies keep an eye on their beauty. In addition, they can enjoy font types that are very stylish, a “romantic mobile theme” and “smart seasonal wallpapers” that you won’t have to worry about, because they will change automatically in accordance with certain events like Christmas or Valentine’s Day.

We don’t know the price of this cell phone right now, but I dare to say that it will be a little bit more expensive than the standard version.

QWERTY smartphone to be offered via Bell Canada

While other cell phone manufacturers and providers focus their attention of Android-based devices, as if it were the ultimate task that must be accomplished no matter what, there are still those exceptions, if I can say so, that are keen on improving their range of Windows Movile products.

Bell Canada is surely one of those providers, as there are rumors it will soon release the Samsung Link, a smartphone that hasn’t been announced so far. The handset runs on the Windows Mobile operating system and comes with a full QWERTY keyboard.

We’re not sure 100 per cent, but the design of the Link is quite similar to the one of the Samsung C6625 (also known as C6620), a device that customers from European countries may purchase it right now. If our presumption is true, then here you have some features of the Samsung Link, the phone targeted at the Canadian market: a QVGA display which is not touch sensitive, a 2 megapixel camera, GPS functionality and Bluetooth connectivity.

Another presumption refers to the fact that the Samsung Link might replace another Samsung phone, the Ace, which is currently available via Bell for a pirce of $29.95. Customers can get this price only if they sign a contract agreement for a period of three years.

As for the release date of the new QWERTY smartphone, it is said to be July 15, but the details about the price are still unknown.

Green cell phone via T-Mobile

We should be a little bit eco, if there’s a small feeling inside each and every one of us that it’s our duty to have very good care of the environment. And we shouldn’t spare any chance we have to prove ourselves to be conscious about the world we live in.

In the given context, the annpuncement made by Samsung and T-Mobile should be received with applause, because they have just come up with an eco cell phone which you’ll refer to as Samsung S3030 Eco.

The handset was expected to become available starting July 2nd in the Netherlands, which was a couple of days ago. At first glance, you’ll see that the Eco is actually something like another version of the Samsung S3030 Tobi, a slider that was announced and presented at the end of last year (sometime in November) as a cell phone for children.

Let’s now see what turns the S3030 Eco into a green cell phone. First of all, it is made of bio-plastic, which means it’s free of brominated flame retardants (also known as BFR) and PVC. On the other hand, the charger is also an eco-friendly component. Not to mention the fact that the pacakging is made from materials that you can recycle 100%.

As for the features, this is what you can find on board: a photo camera (most probably it will be a 1.3 megapixel one), MP3 player, FM radio and a microSD card slot for expandable memory (of no more than 8GB).

You can purchase the new Samsung S3030 Eco from T-Mobile Netherlands for a price of no more than €89.95 on pre-pay. Unfortunately, we don’t know if the handset will become available in other markets. Not yet.

Samsung phone goes to Korea: it’s the Jet!

The Samsung Jet has already been released in the United Kingdom, after it was widely talked about all over the world, and it’s now time for it to become available in Korea too.

It seems that the phone, which is part of the high-end range, will become available in Korea in three different versions: the Samsung W850, the Samsung W8500 and the Samsung W8550. Don’t worry, the handsets are not different as far as the features are concerned, the names are the only ones to differ. The reason is quite simple: there are three carriers that are interested in selling the device and each of the three has a different name prepared for the Jet.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The three carriers are as it follows: KTF, LG Telecom and SK Telekom. And they are ready to offer a phone that is equipped with a 3.5 inches WVGA AMOLED display, which is a little bit more than the S800 had to offer (the Jet has a 3.1 inches display), DMB support, a 5 megapixel camera, TouchWiz 2.0 user interface, GPS functionality, Bluetooth connectivity, a media player and many others.

As for the price of the W850 / W8500 / W9550, we have heard that the device will be sold under the price of 800,000 KRW (which means approximately $630).

Very cheap mobile phones from Samsung

Ok, maybe “very cheap mobile phones” is an exaggeration, because their price won’t tend to zero, but I’m talking about devices that are cheaper than the latest that the South Korean company has announced in the past couple of weeks. You can easily see that Samsung had its attention focused on smartphones like the Samsung Jet, for example, neglecting for a while the low-end market.

The phones that Samsung has just given the official treatment aren’t new as we say new, because we’ve had the chance to see them before in different contexts. So, give a warm welcome to S6700, C5510, two sliders, to M2310 and M2510.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The Samsung S6700 comes with quad band GSM connectivity, HSDPA, a 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS functionality, Bluetooth 2.1, FM radio with RDS, an internal memory of 120MB and a micrSDHC card slot for expandable memory.

The second device, the C5510 is equipped with the following features and specs: a 2.2 inch display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, quad band GSM connectivity, a 2 megapixel camera with fixed-focus, music player, FM radio with RDS and a memory of 16GB (the external one, provided by card, is included).

The Samsung M2310, for example, is a music-centric cell phone that comes with GPRS/EDGE (no word on the 3G connectivity, at least not for the moment), a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth connectivity, FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack, accelerometer, Mobile Tracker, a feature that helps the user find its phone when the phone is lost or stolen, and microSD card support.

As for the Samsung M2510, it comes with keys dedicated to music, a 2.2 inch QVGA display, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, USB, a small alphanumeric keypad, FM radio and an MP3 player.

As you probably expected, being part of the low-end category, these phones weren’t designed to impress you with their lists of features, but you might be impressed with their prices.
