On the other hand, the accelerometer, which is designed to automatically detect motion and the orientation of the device, allows users to enjoy more and more applications and additional feature capability, such as autorotation of the display, games that sense the motion and photo scrolling by tilting the device.

“Eternity can provide endless entertainment options for AT&T customers”, said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices for AT&T Mobility and Consumer operations. “Our customers are looking for mobile phones to a remote control for their life, bringing music, the Internet, GPS navigation and even TV with them on the go”.

A very appealing service is the AT&T Mobile TV that enables a continuous streaming television content and sporting events from top networks, including programming from leading entertainment brands such CBS Mobile, CNBC, Comedy Central, ESPN Mobile TV, FOX News, FOX Mobile, NBC 2Go, MSNBC, MTV, Nickleodeon, CNN Mobile and PIX. Verizon prepares to launch Samsung Renown on November 19

Verizon seems to spare no effort in order to direct customers’ attention to their products these days, right before Christmas, when we all are a whole lot more generous than usually. They want to bring a smile to all of our faces, which is why they are launching a number of new handsets just in time for the holiday season.

One of those devices is the Samsung SCH-U810, also known under the name of Samsung Renown, a global clamshell cell phone that works on CDMA and GSM (quad band) frequencies. This new Samsung phone is a tough-looking device aimed at Verizon customers that use to travel on a regular basis and will be available in a couple of weeks. More precisely, the Renowm is said to launch on November 19th and expected to start selling sometime around December 1st. The device is equipped with a 2-megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, a 2.3-inch LCD and microSD card slot for expandable memory.

The Samsung Renown will be available in a bronze outfit, being a tough clamshell, as you can see in the pictures. There are some messaging capabilities and Verizon Wireless-branded services on board, such as Verizon Navigator, V Cast Music with Raphsody and V Cast Video. Being so well equipped, the handset should prove itself to be very useful anywhere in the world, or almost anywhere, as it also features a quad band GSM radio. This could easily turn into the perfect handset for the jet-setters, don’t you think?

As I’ve already mentioned, those who are interested in purchasing the Samsung Renown, should keep their eyes wide open, because it’s rumored to launch on December 1st, and prepare to pay $179.99 from signing up for a two-year agreement.

Samsung Behold and Gravity are officially announced by T-Mobile

Samsung managed again to make its way in the United States, as T-Mobile, a very well known mobile operator, officially released the so long rumored Samsung Behold and Samsung Gravity, just in time for the holiday season. While the Samsung Behold is a touchscreen smartphone, the Gravity, on the other hand, is a message-centric smartphone which is equipped with a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

First in the spotlight, Samsung Behold, also known as Samsung T919, is a full touchscreen 3G handset that is said to be the North American version of Samsung F480. Being an ultra thin phone, Samsung Behold comes with the following features: a large display based on the TouchWiz user interface (which allows the user to customize and modify the phone), drag and drop options (increasing the user-friendly aspect of the Behold and the instant access to all sorts of functions), a mobile web application experience, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recorder, a full QWERTY keyboard, GPS connectivity, quad band GSM support, super fast transfer of data and Wi-Fi.

The Samsung Behold is provided with an internal memory of only 128 MB which can be further expanded with an external microSD card of no more than 8 GB.

Samsung Behold was said to go on sale starting November 10 (meaning yesterday), in two color versions (Light Rose included) with a price of $149.99 with a 2-year contract agreement.

The second new phone coming from T-Mobile, the Samsung Gravity, also called T459, is not as advanced as the Behold, but its advantages are the full QWERTY keyboard and the lower price. The device comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera which has video recording facility that will allow users to capture special moments. Gravity also supports the T-Mobile’s MyFaves service that will help the user to keep in touch with their beloved.

Samsung Gravity will be available starting November 17 for only $49.99 on contract.

E1110 and E2510, two new basic cell phones from Samsung

Samsung is getting ready to launch two new low-end devices: Samsung E1110 and Samsung E2510, both of them being obviously targeted to those customers who aren’t willing to waste great amounts of money on a mobile phone. Let’s face it, not everyone wants a smartphone that is singing and dancing, so some people try to somehow shun the stunning development of technology.

The first new handset, the Samsung E2510, is a clamshell that doesn’t look bad, despite its simple design. As a matter of fact, if we think about it, the simplicity might be the reason why the device is so good-looking. The E2510 does not feature an external display and comes with an internal one only, of 128 x 160 pixels and 65k colors.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

On the other hand, the handset has no 3G connectivity and not even EDGE, so users will have to deal with slow data transfers. Among the main features of the new Samsung clamshell are included: quad band GSM/GPRS connectivity, 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, MP3 player, FM radio, Bluetooth, USB, VGA camera and 15 MB of internal memory, with the possibility of expanding the capacity storage using microSD cards, up to 2GB. The phone provides up to 7 hours of talk time and up to 400 hours of stand-by time.

Samsung prepares two new basic cell phones, as I’ve said it before. Therefore, the second one is the Samsung E1110, a candybar that offers even fewer features than the E2510. Therefore, these include: a 128 x 128 pixels CSTN display, Bluetooth and USB, 1.5 MB of internal memory. Unfortunately, this time, there is no microSD card support. Weighing approximately 79 grams and measuring 106.4 x 44 x 15.7 millimeters, the device offers up to 8 hours of talk time and up to 20 days of stand-by time.

For the moment, there are no details about the pricing and availability of these two new Samsung basic cell phones.

Samsung Cleo, just another phone for the ladies

Samsung CLEO is the latest device designed and developed just for the ladies, which is expected to become available in November in Canada. The handset somehow reminds us of a LG mobile phone, the Lotus, launched by Sprint in the US, but it has a more fashionable design, not to mention the pretty cool pattern on its front case.

Samsung Electronics Canada and Bell decided to bring some high style in the realm of mobile phones and, therefore, the Samsung Cleo appeared in the spotlight. This is the ultimate must-have for those who are crazy about text-messaging devices.

The phone has a compact and discreet design, and you can easily mistake it for a make-up compact. Reminding all of us of the haute couture lines launched by all sorts of famous designers, the CLEO is undoubtedly a statement for the fashion addicts out there.

Now, as far as the features are concerned, the new phone for the ladies in your lives include a full QWERTY keyboard, the possibility to view text messaging threads and color LCD screen, a 1.3 megapixel camera, an integrated MP3 player, for music lovers, and expandable memory of no more than 8GB.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

This fashion-centric cell phone will be available in pink, champagne and blue. As I said before, Bell Mobility is the company that will offer all CLEO color models across Canada, while another company, Solo Mobile will make available only the champagne CLEO.

Paul Brannen, General Manager, Wireless Terminal Division, Samsung Electronics Canada, said that “the Samsung CLEO will certainly keep its users’ fingertips on the pulse of technology and style’. More than that, “Samsung wanted to offer its fashion-forward customers a truly stylish and unique mobile experience and we have made that happen with the launch of the Samsung CLEO”.

Bell is also convinced that the phone is different from any other mobile devices; “The Cleo is a great cellphone capturing a uniquely elegant combination of form and function”, said Adel Bazerghi, Senior Vice President of Products at Bell. “Along with text messaging our clients will love using the QWERTY keyboard to send pictures messages and email, and access their favorite social networking sites”.

If you’re not convinced yet, let me tell you something else: Samsung is also partnering with Bell to offer the perfect holiday gift – the Kisses from CLEO gift set, which will consist of the Samsung CLEO, a decorative phone charm, a Cake Kiss mulberry sorbet lip butter and a 15% discount coupon for Cake Beauty products. The Samsung CLEO is available for as little as $49.95 on a three-year contract.
