So, for all of those who are not feeling the global economic crisis, not in need of payday loans, and are not content with just wearing diamond earrings, Softbank, a Japanese telecommunications and media corporation, unveiled a line of mobile telephones encrusted with diamonds.

This can be considered one of the boldest moves a cell phone company has ever made. Via a partnership between Softbank Mobile, New York’s Tiffany & Co. and Sharp, a limited edition of just 10 phones will hit the luxury market, being encrusted with 537 diamonds which represent a total weight of 18.34 carats. It’s a pity, right, as you all wanted to purchase such an exquisite device.

The 823SH Tiffany Model sports a platinum body made by Sharp. Aside from making/receiving calls, this luxurious device will boast that great number of diamonds that is said to retail for a whooping 13 million yen (approximately $130,917!).The phone has a top that flips open to a display also designed by the luxury New York jeweler.

Japan is the world’s largest market for luxury goods and nearly everyone owns a cell phone. This is the reason why fashion companies are trying to tap into the mobile market. In the given context, NTT DoCoMo Inc, Softbank’s rival, launched a cell phone designed by Italian brand Prada.

The AQUOS-branded phone is getting really close to a perfect display on a mobile phone and is one of the few full touchscreen cellphones from the country. The 931SH will be available in black, pink-tinted gold, red and silver colors when it ships in Japan by late November. Sharp’s high-end phones rarely leave Japan, though the phone supports tri-band GSM and HSDPA, which makes it work in most parts of the world.

FOMA SH706i developed by Sharp supports 1seg technology for live TV, and offers high-quality images and sound while on the go. It comes with the Mobile Oriented Applications Platform.

The phone has a 3-inch large LCD ASV display of 16 million colors and 16:9 contrast ratio, the Dolby sound technology for strong audio with bass enhancements, multimedia player, sensitive buttons, automatic download setting, Internet browser, email, chat, video calls, and the i-mode service. I-mode is a popular service in Japan, with 48 million subscribers and 95,000 Internet content providers, which provides access to email, sports, weather, games, financial and ticket booking services wirelessly. It works with the a packet switching communication technology, which provides lower costs and charges depending on the number of data packets sent and received.

Other functionalities include a built-in 2MP digital camera, microSD memory expansion slot for up yo 2GB of storage, 3G, GSM, 190 minutes talk time, 100 minutes of video calling, and 480 minutes of standby. The user can add even more storage capacity via a microSDHC card for higher capacity of up to 8GB and higher transfer speed.

The handset measures 109 x 50 x 15.9 mm at120 grams and comes in Aqua Green, Black and Pink colors.

The Sharp SH705iII cell phone was released last month and this advanced audio feature powered by the Audience Voice Processor is in charge with handling signals the way people perceive sounds and it identifies and suppresses noise sources.

Sharp Aquos 822SH is the latest cool cell phone brought by the company in Japan.
Coming in a stylish aluminum housing, weighting just 120 grams and measuring 50 x 110.6 x 18 mm, the latest Aquos offers five beautiful color options from which you can choose: white, gold, pink, black and silver.

The clamshell with a convertible display has 1-Seg support for mobile TV, WCDMA and HSDPA for up to 3.6MBps speeds, and a large 3-inch LCD display capable of showing 262 million colors at a resolution of 240×400 pixels.

It has an external monochrome OLED screen measuring 0.5 inches, with a resolution of 60 x 32 pixels but also a built-in 2MP camera, infrared support and microSD slot.

The design company Lights-Style and Willcom Japan, one of the communication expert companies, will present in Japan, a personalized version of the Windows Mobile 6 PDA Phone called W-ZERO3 [es], model created by Sharp.

The standard version of this phone has Windows Mobile 5 and an Intel PXA 270 processor of 416MHz, a sliding QWETY keyboard, a 2.8-inch display, and 60MB internal memory.

In addition it had a miniSD card a lot, USB connectivity, a built-in 1.3MP camera, but no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
The price is around $300.

There is too little information about this personalized version at this moment.
