Skins For Sony Ericsson W350a Phone

Sony Ericsson w350a is a flip phone from the Walkman Edition and thus has a Walkman music player. It has integrated Bluetooth and a great display. The bad thing about this phone is the construction and being a flip phone does not give it much of resistance. And to come in help, some skins will do just fine to secure this phone into place.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
For example you can choose to add some skins or covers in different colors to personalize it and for you to grip it better. The skins have openings for the camera and other connections so you don’t have to take it off when you want to connect it to some device. And they are cheap also; you can get a pink silicone skin for $5.99. You can choose also from blue, brown, black, smoke and so on. On some websites if you pick a black one you get it even cheaper, for $2.99.

They will change you phone by adding a bit of color and avoid the scratching issues. The silicone is easy, doesn’t give more weight to your phone and it is resistant to dirt and stains. You can let the skin on for a long time and you can use the phone as you normally do. They come in handy if you want to take extra care of your phone and protect it. Measuring just 4.1 x 1.7 x 0.4 inches it is very thin so adding a bit more inches with the skin might help.

It has a 1.9-inch screen with 252K colors. The flip hides the numeric keypad, you will be able to listen to music with the cover closed and even control playback. It is a light phone and the design makes it comfy in use. There are buttons on the sides for music control and the fast port connector located on the left. It also has a camera in the back. The camera has 1.3 megapixels with a 4x zoom optic and photos taken look even better than other 1.3 megapixels cameras. Details are captured and the colors aren’t fuzzy. It has nigh-mode and self-timer, but you cannot shoot videos with this camera. The battery is Li-Polymer 3.6V giving it a longer life. In talk time it pointed 7 hours and in stand-by 12.5 days. So even if you play music a long time you will enjoy longer battery. Moreover the Sony Ericsson W350a has 1000 contacts available in the phone book. You can put contacts in groups and set for each a separate ringtone and photos.

The phone’s music player is like the other Walkman phones. Settings include an equalizer, shuffle, loop modes and playlists. It has two color skins and you can select to see the album art. If you plan on flying you will still be able to listen to your tunes using the airplane mode. You have also FM radio, and a Music ID app. Having a USB cable it is easy to transfer music from your computer to the phone and what is more the Disc2Phone software will guide you through the process. The internal memory is 14MB and of course it will not be enough so you can get an additional memory card.

Sony Ericsson X1 Reviews

A lot of fuss has been made about Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 and it’s finally arrived. It features a customizable interface, Windows Mobile device and a full QWERTY keyboard, all that a real smartphone needs.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
Unfortunately, if you want the unlocked version you will have to reach a large amount of money out of your pocket as it doesn’t come cheap at all ($799.99). Everybody waited for this phone and now they have a chance to test it for themselves as being the recent released smartphone from Sony Ericsson.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 doesn’t feel bulky at all, even though it has a slide-out keyboard. It measures just 4.4 inches tall by 2.1 inches wide by 0.7 inch deep and weights 5.6 ounces. It is both compact and solid constructed. You can choose from different colors including black or grey. It is a cool gadget and Sony Ericsson has devoted a lot of time in giving us this smartphone. The touch screen has 3” and displays 65.536 colors at an 800x480 resolution. Having such a sharp resolution, colors look great and text as well. You can customize the phone and choose from nine different panels. There are seven panels, which come pre-loaded on the phone and they are: Microsoft Today, Sony Ericsson, Google, 3D Fish, Xperia Radio, and Media Xperience. The 3D Fish is something new, basically it shows time and date and then three or four fish appear showing different types of notifications. For example some of the fish turn in different colors to alert the battery status, while one of them alerts you about missed calls or if you have a new message. It’s really nice but it takes a bit to remember which one does what. You can choose however which widgets you want on the screen. If you’re not satisfied with the seven panels, be free to download others from Sony Ericsson’s website.

Back to technical details, below the screen are some navigation buttons, two soft keys, Talk-End buttons and an X1 panel key, OK button and a joystick with center selection function. The keys are a bit small and hard to press so maybe you’ll leave them out. If you slide the phone to the right, the keyboard comes out, slides out smooth and strong enough so don’t worry is opening too much the keyboard. The phone is a bit curved and holding it in your hands feels more comfortable. When you open the phone it will turn from landscape to portrait. The buttons are nicely spaced and typing messages will turn out to contain minor misspells. On the left side of the phone you will find a mini USB port and on the right side are the volume rocker and the camera shutter. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack and the power button on top of the phone. Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 comes with a 2BG microSD card slot and an USB cable.

It runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition and for the web browser you get Opera Mobile in addition to the existing Internet Explorer Mobile. Both of them work great and navigating through e-mail and other web pages is done smoothly and fast. It has integrated Wi-Fi and 3G. Also the 3.2-megapixel camera does a great job in taking photos.

Sony Ericsson Z750a Review

One of the best things Sony Ericsson phones have is design. Ericsson has always known how to impress customers with the innovative design; it’s not a surprise as they have team of designers all over the world trying to find out what we would like and even to anticipate. And this Sony Ericsson z7501 has a great flip design with rounded corners and great display.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
What is more it has user-friendly controls and decent call quality. The external display hasn’t got any point though and the speakerphone not that great either. But the overall image on this phone is good, once those negative features don’t mean that much to you.

The good thing about this Sony Ericsson z750a is that it comes in two colors, phantom gray and rose pink. It can show your reflection, but being shiny all your fingerprints will remain on the phone. It is in fact a bit bulky as it measures 3.8 inches by 1.9 inches by 0.8 inch and weighs 3.9 ounces. It feels comfortable when you’re holding it, but for some the plastic outer casing will not be a joy. The external display has a vertical orientation and when the backlighting is off it turns out to be invisible. It shows your basic time, battery status, signal strength, number caller ID. It is a bit small if you compare it with the overall design of the phone, and thus the text will appear a tad small. On the other side the internal display is great. It measures 2.25”, has a 240x320 pixel resolution and supports 262.144 colors. The images look pretty nice and vibrant. You can choose to adjust the brightness and the clock size and that’s kind of it. The navigation buttons are quite easy to use and placed very clever. The four-way toggle is large and tactile; you’ll have no problems going through the menu. The pink version of the phone has a pink ring around the toggle and also it is brightly backlit.

The OK button found in central opens the menu and the “up” direction is a shortcut for the camera. All other three directions can also be set to open three shortcuts you like. The other navigation controls include the shortcut for the Web browser, clear control and two soft keys. This model of Sony Ericsson has Talk and End keys. The phone is well-constructed if you don’t mind the plastic cover. On the left side of the phone you can see the external memory card slot and the volume rocker, while on the right is the music player button. The contact book has 1000 entries available and for each entry you can add up more phone numbers, contact information. Afterwards, you can group contacts, add ringtones and wallpapers and you’re done personalizing. Other features include the vibrate mode, stopwatch, calendar, notepad, SMS and MMS, task list, calculator, timer and a speakerphone. It also provides instant messaging and USB mass storage. Furthermore, the Sony Ericsson Z750a has a music player, with minimal interface. Using the USB cable you can connect to your computer and add audio files.

The 2-megapixel camera takes actually nice pictures, has three color effects, four shutter sounds, self-timer, nigh mode and you can adjust the brightness and white-balance.

Sony Ericsson W350 Review

Sony Ericsson w350 has a unique design and what is more forms part of the Sony Ericsson Walkman edition. There are lots of controversial opinions on this phone, as the flip case bother some, it only protects the keyboard and doesn’t not have any other functions. But we must admit that when you flip the case it looks different than other cell phones and this is what makes it unique.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
What is more the positive points we can give are on the Music Player with FM radio and Bluetooth stereo support. And on the other hand it does not provide a headphone jack, has limited internet capabilities and the memory card slot is placed inconveniently.

As we mention above the design is a strong point on this phone as it is more unusual. For those who want to keep the keys protected this is the right phone as the matchbook flip design does its job. And there are music keys right below the screen in order to switch from playlists and songs without having to flip the phone. But unfortunately, the design might be the one good feature of this phone as other functions are hard to handle. For example the external key layout is hard to use and the keys are a bit cramped. The 4-way navigator key is not a full circle and you could end up pressing the wrong one by mistake. Even if the phone is slim, using it can turn out to be difficult. Even the calling quality was not that exceptional, they sounded deeper than normal voices, such as being in a tunnel. But the battery life is very good, just what a Walkman phone needs, in call time the estimated duration is 7 hours. Messaging includes both SMS and MMS, typing on the Sony Ericsson w350 might be a bit difficult at start, but eventually you will get the grip.

The Music player on the Sony Ericsson w350 looks a bit different than other Walkman phones, maybe because of the low resolution of the screen. It has the basic commands and navigating through the menu is difficult using these types of controls. One thing this phone should be proud of would be the 1.3-megapixel camera. It takes really nice pictures and the colors look actually bright and vivid. At lower zoom levels they look even better than on full crop, where you can obviously see the pixels. You can choose to navigate the internet using Sony web browser loading web pages in full layout with no trouble. There were some full images that didn’t manage to fully load and some of the larger graphics also. But scrolling through the pages works nice and smooth and the text looks clear and sharp.

Other features of the Sony Ericsson w350 include polyphonic ringtones, speakerphone, vibrating alert, USB mass storage, flight mode so you can still play games, listen to music while you are during flight, organizational tools such as calculator, alarm clock, tasks, timer, notes and calendar, some preloaded applications like Mobile banking, XM Radio, Yellowpages.com, America’s Best Mobile Pix. You can choose to play trial of certain games, or download from the internet and transfer them to your phone. Finally, the phone measures 4.08 x 1.67 x 0.43 inches and weights 2.82 ounces.
