Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Cell Phone

Being the first Sony Ericsson mobile phone equipped with Windows Mobile, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 cell phone impresses with its new design and a lot of high-end technology features. A few of the most important features of the Xperia X1 are the 3 inch display and the full QWERTY keyboard. Powered by a Qualcomm 528 MHz processor, 512 MB ROM and 256 MB RAM, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 cell phone is really powerful.

Being a smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 cell phone has 110.5 x 52.6 x 17 mm in dimensions and 145 grams in weight. Even if these dimensions are quite big, you must remember that the QWERTY keyboard has a huge influence on these dimensions. The Xperia X1 comes with a case made of metal which makes this phone look very elegant. Available in two different colors (black and silver), this smartphone looks great.

The front side is occupied by a 3 inch touch screen and several navigation buttons below it (Call and End keys, two soft keys, a Panel and an OK button, a D-pad and a TrackPad). On the front side a secondary camera for video calls and an ambient light sensor are placed. On the right side of the phone you will find two volume buttons (which also work for zooming in camera mode) and a camera shutter. On the left side you will find an Infrared port, a miniUSB port (allows you to charge the phone or connect it to a PC) and a stylus pen slot. On the top side you will find a 3.5 mm jack and the Power On/off button.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 cell phone comes with a huge 3 inch touch screen which has a native resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Even if it supports only 65K colors, thanks to the huge resolution, the images will be very clear with a great quality of colors. The QWERTY keyboard is another strong point of this smartphone. With large and very responsive keys you will be able to write texts very comfortably without making mistakes by pressing the wrong keys. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 cell phone comes with an integrated 3.15 Megapixel camera capable of taking pictures at a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. Armed with LED Flash, autofocus and a special touch focus, this camera will take images with excellent quality of pictures in any environment conditions. Being a strong camera, it can record VGA clips at a speed of 30 fps.

Like all top-rated smartphones, the Xperia X1 is doing well at connectivity category. Being a Quad-Band handset, the Xperia X1 comes with support for GSM, HSDPA, GPRS, EDGE and 3G plus a lot of other connectivity features like Wi-Fi, miniUSB, micoSD card slot, Bluetooth, infrared and GPS. Like we said, the Xperia X1 comes powered by a powerful Qualcomm 528 MHz processor and 256 MB of RAM memory. With such a lot of power, you can easily navigate on the internet or run multi-tasks without lag or other interruptions.

Because it comes with a lot of technology features, you probably will put this smartphone under an intense usage. So, for that, the Xperia X1 comes with a high-capacity Li-Pol 1500 mAh battery. With this battery the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 cell phone will stay on for almost 6 hours of conversations and up to 640 hours in standby mode. Anyway, if you want a smartphone which will never disappoint you, the Xperia X1 is the best choice.

Sony Ericsson Walkman Mobile

The Sony Ericsson W810 is the “twin brother” of the Sony Ericsson W800, both being two excellent Walkman cell phones. The most important aspect for this Sony Ericsson Walkman mobile is that it is the first Sony Ericsson handset which comes with the EDGE feature, a connectivity option which even if is not very popular in many networks, is very appreciated by fans.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

In design terms, the Sony Ericsson W810 doesn’t come with big changes. Having a “candy-bar” design, this Sony Ericsson Walkman mobile comes with a case made of resistant plastic painted in a nice glossy black. This color makes the phone feel very luxurious and very solid. With 100 x 46 x 19.5 mm in dimensions and 99 grams in weight, this Sony Ericsson Walkman mobile looks very slim and light, being very practical and feeling very comfortable in your hands. The front side of this phone, like all “candy-bar” cell phones, hosts a TFT display and a numerical pad (including two soft keys, a 5-way button, a Clear and a Back key, a shortcut key and a Walkman key). On the back you will see only a speaker and camera lens.

On the sides, the Sony Ericsson W810 hosts a Memory Stick Duo Pro, a Play/Pause button, a volume rocker (which works like zoom in camera mode), a camera shutter, the Power On/off button, an Infrared adapter and a Fast-Port which allows you to charge the phone, connect it to a PC or attach headphones. The numerical pad is a pleasure. It works great and thanks to the flat and very responsive keys, you will be able to easily write your messages or other texts. The keys have good sizes with enough space between them.

The Sony Ericsson W810 comes with a 1.9 inches TFT display which has a native resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. Supporting 256K colors, this display is capable of showing clear and quality images. Even if this display seems to be quite mediocre for this mobile phone, you will be satisfied by its performance. For taking photos, this Sony Ericsson Walkman mobile comes with an integrated 2 Megapixel camera capable of taking photos at a maximum resolution of 1632 x 1224 pixels. Anyway, even if looks like a poor camera, it is armed with autofocus, LED flash and a lot of other customizable settings which will give you the opportunity to take great quality images every time. Because the Sony Ericsson W810 is a Walkman cell phone, one of the most important aspects is the internal memory. Even if in standard, it comes with only 20 MB of internal memory, thanks to the Memory Stick Duo Pro card slot you can extend it up to 4 GB, enough space to store your favorite songs, pictures or clips.

For connectivity, this Sony Ericsson Walkman mobile doesn’t come with a lot of features. It includes Bluetooth, Infrared and USB. As we said, the most important feature of this mobile phone is the EDGE support. The Sony Ericsson W810 also supports GSM and GPRS networks, but lacks one of the most common features present on all top-rated handsets: 3G. Because it is not considered a smartphone, it lacks Wi-Fi and GPS. Like all Walkman cell phones, the Sony Ericsson W810 does a great job in terms of sound. The external speaker produces clear sound with a loud volume. Anyway, to listen to high-quality music you need to attach the headphones which you will get with the phone. The battery is capable of keeping this cell phone on for up to 8 hours of conversations and up to 350 hours in standby mode. For a price of $167, we can say that this cell phone is amazing.

Sony Ericsson Mobile Phone

Another showy Sony Ericsson mobile phone which has great musical capacities is the Sony Ericsson W660. This cell phone will impress ladies with its delicate beauty and its attractive price.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The Sony Ericsson W660 is a cell phone designated for woman and it comes with a nice “candy-bar” case made of resistant plastic painted in a perfect combination between red and gold. The case has rounded edges, and with 102 x 46 x 14.5 and 93 grams in weight, this Sony Ericsson mobile phone feels very comfortable in your hands. The back side hosts a camera, a speaker and a back top covered by floral decorations. On the front side, the Sony Ericsson W660 has a TFT display, a secondary camera for video calls and a numerical pad (including the menu navigation buttons: a five-way button, two soft keys, a  clear and a back key plus a Walkman button and a shortcut key).

On the sides, this Sony Ericsson mobile phone hosts a Fast-Port (allows you to charge the phone, connect it to a PC via USB or attach headphones), a microSD card slot, a Play / Stop button, a camera shutter, a volume rocker and the Power On/off button. The numerical pad is an important aspect for this cell phone. The keys are made of soft plastic and are a bit unstable. Even so, these keys have good sizes and offer a great touch feeling when they are pressed, so you will not have any problems typing on them even if you have slim or thick fingers.

The display which comes with the Sony Ericsson W660 occupies a half of front side. In technical terms, it is an active 2 inches TFT display with a native resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. Even if this display supports 256K colors, the image quality is diminished by the poor resolution. In fact, this QVGA display is considered a standard display for mid-level cell phones class. As we said, even with this display, the Sony Ericsson W660 is capable of showing good quality images with clear colors even if you are under direct sunlight. For photos, this Sony Ericsson mobile phone comes with an integrated 2 Megapixel camera capable of taking photos at a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. Being a mediocre camera you will probably be disappointed, but remember that the strong point of this cell phone is not the camera feature. It does a great job when it comes to music. We all know that a Walkman phone is unreachable when it comes to sound quality. Armed with the same Walkman interface like its predecessors, the Sony Ericsson W660 comes with an excellent music player (which supports all kind of music formats). The external speaker is clear and has a loud volume and if you are not satisfied by it, you can attach the standard Walkman headphones and enjoy high-quality music with a boost of bass.

Being a mobile phone, the Sony Ericsson W660 needs to be capable to keep you in touch with your friends every time. For that, technically, it is a Tri-Band device with GPRS, GSM and 3G support. Other connectivity features included are Bluetooth and USB. Even if comes with only a few connectivity features, this Sony Ericsson mobile phone will satisfy all your connectivity needs. To keep a good battery life, the Sony Ericsson W660 comes with a standard Li-Ion battery. It is capable of keeping this device on for almost 6 hours of conversations and up to 360 hours in standby mode.

Sony Ericsson W880i

Sony Ericsson launched a new Walkman mobile phone: the Sony Ericsson W880i. This mobile phone is the result of a perfect combination between a Walkman phone with a very practical and useful cell phone. In the standard package, besides the cell phone and the battery, you will also get a 1GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) card, a USB cable, a Walkman headset, a charger plus a Software CD and some manuals.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The design of the Sony Ericsson W880i is nice. It comes with a “candy-bar” case made of resistant plastic with a high quality assembly. With 103 x 46.5 x 9.5 mm in dimensions and 71 grams in weight, the Sony Ericsson W880i is certainly the slimmest and lightest Walkman cell phone. The case is available in two colors: Steel Silver and Flame Black, each of them making this cell phone look quite manly and rugged.

On the front side you will find a TFT display, a secondary camera for video calls, a numerical pad and the classic navigation buttons (including two soft keys, a Clear key, a Back key, a shortcut key, a browser button and a D-Pad key). On the sides you will find a Fast Port (allows you to charge the phone, connect it to a PC via USB and attach headphones), a Memory Stick Micro (M2) card slot, a Walkman dedicated button, a camera shutter and two volume keys (which can be used to zoom in shooting mode).

As we said, the Sony Ericsson W880i comes with a 1.8 inch TFT display with a native resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The images are very clear and, because this display supports 262K colors, they have a great quality of colors. For taking photos, the Sony Ericsson W880i comes with a 2 Megapixel camera capable of taking photos at a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels and record QCIF clips at a speed of 15 fps. Even if in our days, this kind of camera is an outdated feature, for a mobile phone like W880i it’s excellent. It can take photos at a good quality even if it lacks autofocus and LED Flash. Anyway, a Walkman mobile phone is not recognized by its camera or its display. A Walkman cell phone is recognized by its music capacity. We all know that there is no other mobile phone with a better sound quality than a Walkman phone. The external speaker is loud and produces clear sounds. If you want some bass boost, simply attach the headphones and you will be amazed. For storing your favorite songs or other files, the Sony Ericsson W880i has 16 MB of internal memory which thanks to the Memory Stick Micro slot, can be extended up to 4 GB.

For other kind of connectivity options, this cell phone is armed with Bluetooth, USB and M2 card slot. Maybe one of the most important aspects for a Walkman mobile phone is the battery life. The Sony Ericsson W880i comes with a standard Li-Pol 950 mAh battery which manages to keep it on for up to 6 hours and 30 minutes of conversation, 20 hours of playback and 425 hours in standby mode.

Sony Ericsson W910i

I do not know what happened with the Sony Ericsson designers, but all their phones look almost similar. The Sony Ericsson W910i is not an exception, but promises to make a great impression with its rich functionalities.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

In the standard package, you will find the phone, a charger, a headset, a USB cable, a Memory Stick Micro (M2) card, a card reader, a software CD and some useful manuals.  Anyway, let’s talk about the phone. The Sony Ericsson W910i comes with a sliding case made of quality materials. Having 99 x 50 x 12.5 mm in dimensions and 86 grams in weight this cell phone looks very solid, but you will see that it is very slim and light, so you will feel comfortable using it. The front side is occupied by a huge 2.4 inch display and several navigation control buttons. These buttons include two soft keys, the Call and End buttons, a Clear button, a shortcut key, an OK key and a 4-way button. Above the display, just like the old models, this cell phone has two dedicated keys for opening the Gallery and for viewing the last photo taken.  Between these two keys, you can see a secondary video-camera and the speaker. On the sides you will find a volume rocker, a card slot, a camera shutter and a Fast Port (this port helps you charge the phone, connect via USB, attach headphones or other accessories).

If you slide up the phone you will see the numerical pad. This numerical pad is great. Having large keys, very well delimited and with enough space between them, it is great for writing messages or other texts. The keys are flat offering a positive feedback and you will not have problems using it night because they are illuminated. As we said, the Sony Ericsson W910i comes with a huge 2.4 inch display. This display has a native resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and supports 256 K colors. The images are clear with good quality of colors, and the display remains visible even under direct sunlight.

Because the Sony Ericsson designers wanted to create a slim mobile phone, for keeping low dimensions, the Sony Ericsson W910i comes equipped with a 2 Megapixels camera. This camera is capable of taking photos at a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels and record QVGA clips at a speed of 15 fps. Being a mediocre camera for such a great phone, it can be a negative aspect for it.

For connectivity, the Sony Ericsson W910i comes with Bluetooth, USB and 3G. Being a Quad-Band device, it supports GPRS, GSM and EDGE networks. Anyway, even if doesn’t have the best high-end connectivity features like Wi-Fi or GPS, this mobile phone is capable of keeping you in touch with your friends anytime. The internal memory is low with only 40 MB. But thanks to the Memory Stick Micro (M2) card slot, you can extend it up to 4 GB. Being a Walkman Series model, the Sony Ericsson W910i has an excellent quality of sound. You will love listening to music with this phone because it uses the same Walkman interface like older models and has many customizable sound settings. The battery... could be a problem. It manages to keep up this cell phone for almost 4 hours of conversation and up to 350 hours in standby mode. In conclusion, the Sony Ericsson W910i is a mobile phone designated for those people who love listening to music. If you are looking for a smartphone, we recommend you choose another model.
