According to a recent announcement, Sony Ericsson has more than doubled its profits mainly due to the increasing popularity of its camera phones and music handsets. With 21.8 million handsets sold (47 percent more than last year), Sony Ericsson had an 145 million Euro jump (from 109 million Euro recorded last year to 254 million Euro). This makes Sony Ericsson the fourth world mobile phones producer, right after Samsung.
"Guilty" for the company's success are the two successful Walkman and CyberShot product lines. Sony Ericsson has a lot of quality handsets, especially music and camera phones, which, though slightly expensive deserve every penny. However, the company it trying to expand it's low-budget line, by associating with Sagem.

Here’s a first look at the upcoming
Sony Ericsson W999i. The phone, is somehow similar to the M600 is a stylish 12.5mm-thick slider that packs a 2.4-inch display, 2.0-megapixel camera(unlike the M600 which doesn't have a camera), and HSDPA. No further info available so far, but we hope to hear some more soon about this phone, because it looks promising.

MobileBurn has a very interesting photo comparison between two of the best camera phones out there, the recently released Nokia N95 and the Sony Ericsson K800i. Even if this "battle" doesn't seem fair, because of Nokia's 5 megapixel camera compared to SE's 3.2 megapixel.
However, the result are somehow surprising. In full light environment, the Nokia camera shows all it's 5 megapixels and the photos are splendid. But in all the other cases, due to Nokia's not-so-perfect noise reduction algorithm and over sharpening, pictures taken with the Sony Ericsson are better. So, somehow surprising, Sony Ericsson's camera wins the test, with photos being much more accurate overall.

Well this is interesting, a Sony Ericsson slider Walkman phone. Probably they thought its time to set a new shape to their Walkman phone. And to be honest they made it pretty cool, especially that they made it street style. What does that mean? Well, first we were confused too. Street style means that, beside playing music, taking and storing pictures or playing games, you can also do something different with your
Sony Ericsson W580, like track steps, count burnt calories and monitor your running speed/distance/time, with its built-in applications.
At only 14 mm width, the
Sony Ericsson W580 comes with a 512 MB Micro Memory Card, that enables you to store up to 470 tracks in eAAC+ codec, a 2-megapixel camera, a 2.0†QVGA 262K TFT screen.
The Sony Ericsson W580 Walkman phone is a 2.5G, Quad Band EDGE device(850/900/1800/1900) and will be available later this year.

Sony Ericsson wants to improve your camera shot with its Camera Phone Kit IPK-100 specifically for Cyber-shot phone users. The kit includes a tasteful Cyber-shot branded protective case for your phone, which can be attached to a belt or kept in a bag, and a micro tripod with flexible legs and friction feet that allows you to hold the camera steady for the self-timer.
