Sony Ericsson is one of the most respectable mobile phone manufacturers that caught the attention of many conceptual designers.
One of them is Vincent Palicki from France that has his own view about the possible future look of such a phone.

Keeping the base design line of the Sony Ericsson phones’ models, he created this new case concept to fit the candy bar style Walkman mobile phone.

He used a combination of black, orange and a little bit of grey to leave a stylish look, and then he added four stainless steel buttons separate from the phone’s interface and a tiny USB key to let users transfer directly the music files, pictures and videos from the PC.

Sony Ericsson surprises us again expanding its Walkman phones line with three new stylish models named W890i, W960i and the clamshell-style W380a, equipped and designed with special features that will enchant the music lovers.

The SE W890i MEASURES 104X46.5X9.9mm, weighting 78gr, and comes in two case color options: Mocha Brown and Sparkling Silver.
It has an internal memory of 26MB with the possibility to be extended by using a Memory Stick Micro (M2) card type.
EDGE, GSM 850/900/1800/1900 HSDPA and UMTS 2100 are the networks supported.
More than that, it has a built-in camera with digital zoom with recording capability and a Bluetooth support with A2DP for stereo headsets.
For the music experience you get the MegaBass, PlayNow, SensMe, Track ID, the Walkman player and music tones support.

On the Internet you have the possibility to browse your favored news sites and subscribe to RSS feeds.
On the W890i you can also play 3D games, listen to the radio and use the video streaming and video viewing features to watch videos you like.
The connectivity options include a modem, a phone-PC synchronizer, and USB mass storage.
You can also contact your friends through the Internet like you were using your PC, with e-mail support.

Next, let’s take a look at the second model, the W960i, to be able to make a nice comparison after and decide what would be the best buy.
The W960i is a bit larger than the previous model we discussed about, measuring 109x55x16mm and weighting 119gr.
The only case color available is a Vinyl Black so it will match any taste because everybody likes black.
It screen power is same as at the W890i but this time we have a touchscreen, and besides that the memory is larger letting you store up to 8GB of data.

It supports the GSM 900/1800/1900 and UMTS2100 network bands for highest speeds, and it comes with a built-in camera of 3.2 MP and 3.2x digital zooming, photo light and recording possibility.
For music it provides an Album Art, Bluetooth with A2DP for stereo headsets and the rest of the features mentioned for the previous model, excepting SensMe.
If we talk about the Internet facilities we have to take into consideration the Opera browser support which this model has, unlike the other two.

Other differences are the FM radio support with RDS, the WLAN support and the video calling capability of this model. More than that, it has also a jog dial, document editors and readers and handwriting recognition feature.
Not at last, it comes with the Symbian OS.
The specialties of the third phone, the W380a include a 14MB memory extendable with a M2 or microSD card; EDGE, GSM 850/900/1800/1900 network support; a 1.3MP camera with 4x digital zoom and picture blogging support, stereo Bluetooth, the same music utilities as at the W890i but plus touch music controls and minus SensMe.
This model is the single one from the three that has Access NetFront Web Browser.
This time, though, we are missing the modem and WLAN support but instead we get IM messaging feature. You can find it in Electric Purple and Magnetic Grey colors.

Sony Ericsson made us another surprise announcing in London the new K660 mobile phone with HSDPA for the highest transfer speeds.
Although we can’t find out yet information regarding the possible price we know the specs.
And here are the specialties of this model.

We have a QVGA screen with 262K colors rendering capability and a beautiful design and an optimistic color combination housing consisting in white and light-green.
It is a quad-band Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE) capable phone, with USB and stereo Bluetooth support with A2DP.
K660 supports web browsing with zooming and in addition it features a navigation key which acts like a “magnetic mouse pointer”, just to feel like you’re using a PC.

You can take pictures or film using the 2MP built-in camera with 4x digital zoom and auto focus, and if you like music you can turn on the FM radio.
The phone supports video streaming, sound recording and video calling.

Not at last I have to mention that its internal memory is of 32MB and it is extendable with the use of a Memory Stick Micro (M2).
You can put your hands on the Sony Ericsson K660 at the beginning of 2008.

This is indeed an innovation, a mobile phone with a hidden OLED external display for video conference, which uses the reflective mirror technology.

In the rest is a common clamshell handset with modern features such as a 2MP camera with 4x digital zoom and a resolution of 1600x1200 pixels, with recording capability, POP3 e-mail, SMS and MMS support for communication, WAP 2.0/HTML browsing, RSS, and a built-in FM stereo radio with RDS.

The TFT touchscreen displays 256K colors and has a resolution of 240x320 pixels. It supports MP3/AAC/AAC+/eAAC+, is capable to store phone numbers associated with pictures, and has a memory card slot for M2 type (Memory Stick Micro) in case you need more than the 32 MB of internal memory.
For data transfers it has GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, Bluetooth and USB.

It also incorporates a handsfree and a Li-Ion battery.
Sony Ericsson Z750 measures 97.4 x 49 x 20 mm and weights 110 g.
We have not received any information yet about the price of SE Z750 model, presented at CTIA Wireless 2007.

Following the design line of its P series, the latest Sony Ericsson PXi Ultimate concept phone has something special: it is designed for left handlers.

The phone concept belongs to Bence Bogar, who created the PXi with a slim and ergonomic style, adding a magnesium alloy for the frame and a rotative 3.3 inches touchscreen with 768x480 pixels resolution.

It has a second touchscreen and a jogdial for easy access of all applications.

With the PXi you can take very clear pictures using the 5MP Cybershot camera with autofocus and store all your preferred photos on 2 memory cards, because the phone is equipped with 2 slots for that.

This is a phone that works well with GSM, HSDPA, and UMTS networks and has GPS, WLAN, B.T. 2.0, and USB 2.0 connectivity support.
