In the standard package, the HTC Diamond2 Sprint comes with a headset, a charger, a miniUSB cable plus the usual software CD and manuals. If you choose to buy this cell phone through Sprint, you will receive in the package a memory card. Like all HTC mobile phones, the Diamond2 comes with an attractive design. Even if it is simple, the case is made of high-quality materials and has rounded edges. This handset has 108 x 53 x 13.7 mm in dimensions and 118 grams in weight, acceptable values for a smartphone.  On the front side, the Diamond2 hosts a huge touch screen, which occupies almost the entire front side. Below it you will find 4 hardware buttons and a touch-sensitive bar for zoom. Above the display only an ambient light sensor is placed. We have already covered the HTC Snap, so let’s focus our attention on the Samsung Exclaim. The phone is a message-centric one, being a dual-slider that comes with features like a numeric keypad and a full QWERTY keyboard, dedicated tiles to Facebook and MySpace, placed on the home screen, along with Twitter, that can all be accessed using the One Click feature, a 2.6 inches QVGA display, a 2 megapixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth, and a microSD card slot for expandable memory.

This is the result of the fact that Sanyo isn’t very well known in the cell phone market, so it’s not able to compete against many other famous companies. Unfortunately, clamshells like the Katana series, that managed to create sensation when they appeared, didn’t manage to change people’s perception concerning the Sanyo cell phones.

However, the latest device to hit the American market these days is the SCP-2700 which available right now via Sprint on an exclusive basis. It’s just that you’ll be able to find it at stores from all over the West Michigan and Northeast Indiana.

The features of the SCP-2700 include a full QWERTY keyboard, threaded text messaging, a 2.2 inch color LCD screen, a 1.3 megapixel camera, access to Web and email, an integrated speakerphone, a dedicated emoticon key that will help teenagers insert the smiley faces they like most when writing text messages or emails. For those who are enthusiastic about games, the phone has two well known games (they are preloaded) and we’re talking about Guitar Hero – World Tour and Are you smarter than a 5th grader.

As I previously told you, the new Samsung Instinct phone measures 2.1 x 4.6 x 0.5 inches and weighs 3.9 ounces. The battery provides approximately 4.6 hours of talk time.

The Samsung Instinct S30 measures 2.1 x 4.6 x 0.5 inches and weighs approximately 3.9 ounces, providing no more than 4.6 hours of talk time. As for the price, the phone will cost $129.99 if you’re willing to sign a two year contract agreement. This way, you’ll get a $100 mail-in rebate.

The other Samsung phone is actually a WiMAX-enabled tablet called Samsung Mondi. Being presented as “the most advanced mobile WiMAX enabled handheld device in the US”, the Samsung Mondi is expected to come equipped with the following features: a 4.3 inch touchscreen display, a full QWERTY keyboard, the Windows Mobile 6.1 support, GPS with preloaded maps provided by Route 66, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, a 3.0 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, Opera 9.5 browser, Direct Push / Mobile Email, support for a wide variety of video and audio file formats, HDMI TV Out, Instant Messaging and an internal memory of 4GB.

When it comes to the price of the Samsung Mondi, we don’t have the details at our disposal. Not yet. However, you’ll just have to be patient and the new Sprint Samsung cell phones will hit the market really soon.

Sprint decided to release a brand new version of an old model, the Motorola i850 iDEN, a rugged phone, which you can buy right away, just in case you’re interested in it.

It’s not difficult to see that “highly visible yellow” outfit of the new handset, as it’s a very powerful color that catches everyone’s attention. Talking about power, the battery is a 1130 mAh one, providing approximately 200 minutes of talk time, which is pretty good.

Besides these differences, compared to the old version, this rugged cell phone didn’t change very much, being also certified to Military Standard 810F, which means the yellow i850 is resistant to all sorts of factors, from shocks, vibration, dust or solar radiation to extreme temperatures, low pressure, rain, fog and humidity.

The features list of the Motorola i850 consists of the following: an 1.9 inch TFT internal display with a resolution of 176×220 pixels and 262k colors, a white STN external display with a resolution of 96×32 pixels, an 1.3 megapixel camera, GPS functionality, Bluetooth connectivity, MMS capabilities, Nextel Direct Connect, iDEN 800/900 MHz and microSD card slot for expandable memory.

Released under the name of LG Rumor 2, the device will be exclusively sold by Sprint in the United States, just like the older version. The Rumor 2 is aimed at those customers who are looking for affordable phones and who want to be permanently connected to the world outside.

The features list includes the following: a full QWERTY keyboard (which slides out), a QVGA TFT display with 262k colors, stereo Bluetooth connectivity, MP3 player, 1.3 megapixel camera, Sprint Navigation, which is aimed at enabling voice and on-screen, turn-by-turn directions, Sprint Mobile Email Work which comes with Microsoft Exchange Server and IBM Lotus Notes, additional removable backplate and a microSD card slot of no more than 16GB.

Measuring 4.4 x 2.1 x 0.7 inches and weighing 4.23 ounces, the LG Rumor phone provides up to 5.5 hours of talk time.

The original LG Rumor, launched two years ago, in 2007, became the best selling CDMA cell phone ever sold by Sprint, or at least one of them. This is why the North American carrier has great expectations about the new one.

The clamshell cell phone is expected to become available via Boost Mobile in no more than a couple of weeks (sometime by the end of this month) and then (a little bit later) via Sprint.

If you’re interested in the Stature i9 flip phone, then you should know that it was said to be sold for $299 by Boost Mobile (free of contract), while the other carrier, Sprint, announced a price of $199.99 with a two-year contract.

The device is a great success for the provider, accounting approximately one-fifth of all handsets sold by Sprint, during the first two weeks that the Instinct was available.

You should know that as far as the features are concerned, this pink version of the Instinct won’t bring more novelties compared to the old device. Therefore, the only difference consists of the color. The features of the pink Samsung mobile phone include: Visual Voicemail that allows users to listen to their messages in the order they prefer, stereo Bluetooth 2.0, SMS voice and text messaging, HTML Web experience, a picture caller ID, a 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder, microSD card for expandable memory of up to 8 GB.

Another great news about the pink Samsung mobile phone is the fact that it comes with an affordable price, at least for a limited period of time. More than that, the same goes for the black version of the device. Therefore, you can purchase your own Instinct handset for only $99.99, after a $100 rebate and a two year agreement. The Samsung Instinct is said to be available in Sprint stores from all over US, but if you won’t find it this way, you will find it online. That’s for sure.

We weren’t at the meeting, so we don’t precisely know the context for Sprint Nextel CEO Dan Hesse’s speech, but according to Reuters, this guy, whom you may remember from those classy black-and-white commercials on the TV, has recently revealed its position.

Sprint may be having a lot of problems marketing its own brand in the last few years, but according to Hesse, Google’s Android mobile operating system isn’t perfect either. Nevertheless, he said that a phone powered by Android will be sold by Sprint “at some time in the future”, as Sprint is part of the alliance of about 30 companies that said they would support Google’s development of a mobile phone operating system.

This is undoubtedly surprising, because other than Apple’s iPhone, which is exclusively sold by the much larger rival of Sprint, AT&T, for at least a few more years, Google’s Android project is probably the most important in the mobile industry and the only one people are actually excited about. Not to mention the success AT&T scored with the iPhone for some time, while other carriers such as Sprint suffer in the smartphone market. Sprint has to find and provide a real competitor to the iPhone. Ok, there are many other phones with touchscreen capability, like the Samsung Instinct, for example, but let’s face it, nothing compares to the almighty iPhone. To overcome this losing-customers situation, Sprint has to do something, anything, to attract people on its side.

Sprint has hoped to get an Android phone in its arsenal by the end of the year to compete with the iPhone at Christmas, as the Wall Street Journal reported in June, but because of these delays, it seems that the company won’t be launching the device after all. Not this holiday season, anyways.
