Finally, we have the release date and price for the coolest cell phone of the moment! Samsung Instinct release date is set for June 20, exclusively at Sprint, for only $129.99. I have to admit that I was expecting a higher price of around $450, but now I’m happy to say that this high-end model is affordable for anyone, and this is the final kick in the ring, when Samsung Instinct knocks out the iPhone.



To meet every customer’s needs the handset provides a full touchscreen, fast connectivity, live TV, stereo Bluetooth, turn-by-turn directions via GPS, and lots of other features I will tell you about in a few seconds.

The Best in Show device at CTIA Wireless 2008 was also honored as the Most Innovative Product and Best Cell Phone, by LAPTOP editors and CNET.

Made by Samsung and available exclusively at Sprint, Samsung Instinct was developed using several new technologies that make our life more pleasant that it is, and here we can enumerate: haptics, touchscreen, Speech to Action, EV-DO Rev A, Web browsing, email, broadband speeds, GPS, video player, live TV, music player, digital camera, Visual Voicemail, POP3 and IMAP support, multitasking, stereo Bluetooth, caller ID, and two standard 1,000 mAh batteries each offering up to 5.75 hours of continuous talk time.



Samsung Instinct’s specification list include a display size of 3.1 inches, 240 x 432 pixel screen resolution, 2GB microSD card supporting up to 8GB via the card slot, measuring 11.61 × 5.51 × 1.24 cm at 124.74 grams.

The haptic technology which is a main characteristic of the Sprint’s cell phone, works by giving the user tactile feedback at the touch of the finger.



You will be able to get it at $129.99 with a 2-year contract and a $100 mail-in rebate directly from Sprint and from the exclusive retail partner, Best Buy. Plans for individuals start at $69.99 per month, family plans at $129.99 while Simply Everything Plan is offered for $99.99 per month, each providing limited numbers free minutes, messages, or useful services like GPS or Sprint TV.

It doesn’t have a cool design but at least there is the Samsung’s high-quality and several important features. I am talking about the newly released Samsung Z400 clamshell cell phone which continues the new Sprint phone lineup.
Characteristics of the new Sprint phone include push-to-talk, mobile broadband, GPS, dust resistance, shock resistance and vibration resistance. It is an exclusive Sprint phone model, same as Samsung Instinct, covered in a rubberized coating with dark-blue finish.

In addition, it comes with a built-in 1.3MP camera with 2x digital zoom and camcorder functionality, stereo Bluetooth for handsfree communication, and a call announce feature to make an audio alert when someone is calling you.

You can use a single number for wireless phone calls and Nextel Direct Connect calls. Also, it features PTT Missed Call Notification when on Nextel Direct Connect call, DC Permissions to block/allow incoming one-to-one PTT calls and Call Alerts, Call Alert/Call Alert with Text feature to send repeating alerts to other Nextel Direct Connect users, Group Connect for communication with 20 Nextel Direct Connect subscribers in the same time, and TeamDC for communication with 35 Nextel Direct Connect subscribers at the same time and online group management.

The new Sprint phone Samsung Z400 is available at Sprint at a porice of $99.99 with a 2-year service contract and a $50 mail-in-rebate.

Sprint Vision line will include the newest cell phone produced by Sanyo, which under the name Katana LX is bringing an affordable mobile solution in a slim and stylish form factor with mirror finish and a translucent OLED LCD display on the exterior showing the caller ID and time.

Katana LX by Sanyo comes in Pacific Blue, Elegant Pink, and Liquid Graphite colors, has Internet access, email function support, a VGA camera, speakerphone integrated, Bluetooth connectivity for wireless file transfers between two compatible devices, and a large 2-inch main LCD display of 65K colors.

More than that, the middle-level cell phone supports GPS with Sprint Navigation service for turn-by-turn driving directions, traffic rerouting and over 10 million local listings.
It has also SMS Voice Messaging, voice-activated dialing, modem functionality for laptop connectivity to the Internet, voice memo, contact list wireless backup, and call restriction settings.



Sanyo’s Katana LX measures 3.7 x 1.9 x 0.7 inches at 3.4 ounces and is powered by a Li-Ion battery that lasts up to 4.8 hours of talking until the next recharging.

The other cell phone I was telling you that it will be released on the market this month together with the Sanyo Pro 200 is Sanyo’s Pro 700 and it too will feature push-to-talk and high-speed broadband access.

Supporting Qualcomm’s QChat technology, the EV-DO Rev. A support and Call Alerts for sending repeated PTT Alert to other Nextel Direct Connect subscribers, Sanyo Pro 700 allows you to create groups for connecting with up to 20 users of Nextel Direct Connect via QChat, as well as browse the Internet, send emails, download stuff and read the latest news.

The cell phone is rugged being certified to military standards for dust, shock and vibration, and these without looking as a rugged heavy model at all, weighting 2.8 ounces at 4 x 1.8 x 0.8 inch dimension.



It supports 1900 MHz and 800 MHz bands, sports a 1.2 x 1.5-inch display of 65K colors, and can operate for up to 5 hours of talk time thanks to the 1050 mAh Li-Ion battery.

Sprint will offer it at a price of $69.99 with a 2-year service agreement and $50 mail-in rebate.
