Cheap cell phone plan for T-Mobile USA

A couple of days after the release of the Samsung t349, which was presented as an affordable device with a half-QWERTY keyboard, aimed at budget-conscious people, T-Mobile USA announced the introduction of another similar cell phone.

The new phone is called Samsung t239 and it seems that T-Mobile is preparing the same cheap cell phone plan for it as for the t349. More than that, rumors say that the new model is going to even cheaper than the previous one.

The slider comes with the following list of features: dual band GSM connectivity 850/1900 MHz, a TFT display with a resolution of 177 x 220 pixels, a VGA photo camera, Bluetooth connectivity, MMS, Web2go, myFaves and an internal memory of only 10MB. Being a basic cell phone, you shouldn’t expect to get more. It measures 1.87 x 3.78 x 0.68 inches.

The phone is expected to become available in two different colors, dark scarlet and grey, with a pre-pay price of no more than $59.99. According to Howard Forums, you can immediately buy the Samsung t239, if you want to, via Sears.

Latest Nokia phone to hit the American market is a basic one

Even if they like it or not, the Americans pass through a very difficult period these days, and they will have to be quite patient up until the recession is over. And what other better way to fight the economic crisis could you think of than focusing the attention on cheap products and, of course, taking very good care of your budget?

Well, it seems that Nokia has considered this issue and decided to release a brand new basic cell phone in the United States. Called the Nokia 1661, the phone is said to become available via T-Mobile USA. The candybar was seen for the first time back in the last year, in November, if I remember right.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

I agree, the 1661 doesn’t look spectacular, and I’m sure you wouldn’t expect it to be otherwise, as I said from the beginning that we’re dealing with an ultra-basic handset. However, it is provided with a speakerphone and with an integrated flashlight.

As for the features, they include: dual band GSM connectivity, a 1.8 inch TFT display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels, FM radio and two pre-loaded games, Sudoku and Mobile Soccer. The latest Nokia phone to hit the American market is able to provide the user approximately 8 hours of talk time and no more than 624 hours of stand-by time.

Unfortunately, the information about the release date of the 1661 in the United States is still unknown. As for the price, what we know for sure is that the device retails for only 30 Euros in Europe (which means approximately $40), so T-Mobile USA should come up with a similar offer.

8MP Samsung Memoir phone via T-mobile. Finally!

Here’s a great piece of news for the American people out there! After you’ve been promised with the future availability of the first 8 megapixel camera phone ever released in the North American continent, now you can celebrate the fact that T-Mobile USA and Samsung have both kept the promise they made.

This means that the new 8MP Samsung Memoir phone is available across the territory of the United States starting yesterday.

Being a full touchscreen device, Samsung T929’s main and most attractive feature is undoubtedly the 8 megapixel camera that comes with autofocus, xenon flash, geo-tagging and video recording capabilities at 30 fps (frames per second). If you’re a devoted reader, then you most probably know my opinion concerning multi-functional devices, so this why I assume that the quality of the pictures taken with the Samsung Memoir couldn’t be compared to those taken by a digital camera. However, this might be a spectacular camera phone like no other before.

The Samsung Memoir phone comes with the following features: a 3-inch TFT touchscreen display with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels, a TouchWiz user interface, accelerometer, integrated assisted GPS, stereo Bluetooth, HTML browser and a microSD card of 1GB capacity storage that is included in the package.

Measuring 105.9 x 53.6 x 14 millimeters and weighing no more than 125 grams, the phone provides up to 5.5 hours of talk time and up to 12.5 days of stand-by time.

T-Mobile is already selling the first 8MP handset ever sold in the US, meaning that the Memoir can be found online, at the official website of the carrier, and in its North American retail stores, for $249 with a contract agreement signed for 2 years. If you’re not willing to do this, then you’ll have to be quite generous and spending $499 in order to purchase the Samsung Memoir.

T-Mobile Shadow cell phone is already available

There were some rumors at the end of last year about the fact that T-Mobile was planning to bring a new handset to join the family of Windows Mobile-based devices, which consisted of only two members, the T-Mobile Shadow and the T-Mobile Wing. The third one was expected to be release in the beginning of this year, more precisely on January 28, and it was said to be baptized under the name of (and now imagine the drums beating) T-Mobile Shadow II. Oh, God, what a surprise!

The device is already available on the market, being sold exclusively by T-Mo USA, as we’ve all been promised. Another great thing is that, being manufactured by HTC, the new T-Mobile Shadow cell phone is indeed equipped with the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. But the novelty doesn’t end here: in addition, this is the first device to work with Windows Mobile which supports a popular T-Mobile service, known under the name of Unlimited HotSpot calling.

The new Shadow isn’t different from its predecessor (which, by the way, isn’t commercialized anymore), so the features it comes equipped with include: a sliding QWERTY keyboard, quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz), a QVGA display, a 2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and Stereo Bluetooth connectivity.

Measuring 2.1 x 4.1 x 0.6 inches and weighing approximately 5.3 ounces, the phone provides up to 7 hours of talk time and up to 7 days of stand-by time.

Available in two color versions: black burgundy and white mint, the T-Mobile Shadow cell phone can be purchased from T-Mo USA for $199 (after $50 mail-in rebate), with the condition of signing a two-year contract agreement.

Get ready for the G1 expansion!

Chances are small for you to not be familiar with the T-Mobile G1 up until this moment. The device was obsessively talked about since it first appeared in the spotlight, due to the fact that it’s the first handset based on the Android, the “software platform and operating system for mobile devices, based on the Linux kernel, developed by Google and later the Open Handset Alliance” ( Wikipedia).

The Android-based phone is already commercialized in the United States and in the United Kingdom since last October, but customers from all over the world are waiting quite beside themselves for the release of the T-Mobile G1 in their countries. Designed and developed by Taiwan’s HTC Corp, the smartphone is equipped with a display which is sensitive to touch, a full QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi connectivity and the Google applications that people love most, including the search, Google Maps and Gmail.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

T-Mobile Chief Executive Hamid Akhavan announced that G1 will be available in several European countries, such as Austria, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, starting January 30. German people will have to be a little bit patient, as they will be given the chance to purchase the G1 a couple of days later, on February 2, while, by the end of the same month, the highly-anticipated device will be in the Polish territory.

As the sales managed to exceed the expectations of the people from T-Mobile, this step is more than obvious and logical. This means that more and more countries will be privileged in the future with the Android-based phone. Unfortunately, there are no details about the price of the handset in the European countries where the G1 expansion will manifest its effects.
