Getting Sony Ericsson C905 with a contract will result in cheaper version mobile phones. Unlocked phones offer you the freedom to choose the provider you want, but you have to pay a higher piece for unlocked versions. Contracts can be established for one or two years and you also get some services, usually free minutes, internet connectivity and more depending on the type of phone you decide on.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

But because Sony Ericsson C905 is on the market for quite a while, its price is not as high as before and now you can buy it for around $200, which is actually a good bargain, considering the mobile phone offers a decent camera and overall good quality. But before you decide upon buying it or not, unlocked or with a contract, let’s go a bit through the features offered and see exactly if it is truly worth it.

When it comes to the looks, the phone has it. It is sturdy due to the rubberized body and offers a good protection for the camera inside. The 2.4” QVGA TFT display is gorgeous and you can always count on that on Sony Ericsson mobile phones. Where the company has some issue sis on the keypad; it looks good when you see it, but the navigation controls seem cramped and even when typing messages you have to take care not pressing the “end call” instead of “clear” and cancel your messages. The central navigation buttons has photographic functions assigned and even the two keys above the screen have them. On the back of the phone you can find the camera hidden by the stainless steel panel. Sliding the cover leads to activating the camera, this also helps to take some shots faster than going through the menu and all. The slider mechanism is sturdy and if you are worried about activating the phone while it sits in your pocket don’t, because it is not the case. Why are we talking so much about the camera you are wondering? Well, it is the company’s first 8 megapixels camera phone and this is a reason to talk about. Among the features of the camera, you have focus modes, face-detection, and Xenon flash, Smart Contrast, BestPic shooting modes, scene modes and geo-tagging. The last feature is used in combination with the GPS receiver inside. You can thus transfer data over Wi-Fi networks and HSDPA networks. Sony Ericsson C905 runs on the company’s proprietary operating system and includes all the software you need: great media interface, support for MP3, MP4 and AAC files and you can sync with MS Outlook in order to transfer contacts, upcoming tasks and calendar entries. When it comes to other performance issues, the phone delivers excellent call quality and messaging as well.

The menu is very easy to use and intuitive and multitasking is possible. The battery life is long enough. If you use the phone daily and all its features, you will have to charge it up at two-three days. Considering the high-resolution display, excellent camera and all, this is actually very good. As most users opting for a camera phone tend to replace their digital camera with their headsets, you can expect more out of this phone and you will not be disappointed.

Because everybody is crazy about mobile phones with QWERTY keyboards, most of the manufacturers out there pulled out such headsets. Some did a good job, some failed, but in the end it is up to you to decide which one you prefer. That is why you read all the reviews about mobile phones and you try some of them out. HTC Snap has nice e-mail support, runs on Windows Mobile, and features GPS, Bluetooth and a 2 megapixels camera.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

And yes, the phone lacks Wi-Fi, but other than this, the performance level is satisfying and it shines when it comes to messaging features. Perhaps users have hard times choosing a QWERTY phone, because most of them look very alike. For example, if you place this HTC Snap next to the BlackBerry Curve or one of the Nokia Eseries, you will see there are major resemblances.

This headset measures 4.5 inches tall by 2.5 inches wide by 0.5 inch thick and weights 4.2 ounces, leading to a compact design and a solid construction. But because it is made out of plastic completely, there is a cheap feel about it. The screen has 2.4”, supports 65.000 colors and a pixel resolution of 320×240. To mention here the fact that it is not a touch screen, but it is clear and bright. Whenever you are accessing web pages and compose e-mails, the screen will seem on the small size and you will be suffering from this aspect. You can choose to customize the home screen with all sorts of wallpapers, themes and background images. Below the display is the navigation array: two soft keys, Talk/End buttons, Home shortcut, Back button and the five-way directional keypad with the center OK button. The differences between the layout of the keys and the keys on the QWERTY keyboard depend on the carrier. For example, GSM HTC Snap has roomy keys and with spacing between them. The version Sprint offers has smaller keys and with little spacing between them. So, before you shop this mobile phone, you should personally pay a visit to the service provider and test the phone yourself. It is up to you to decide which one you prefer.

Among the other keys, we can say that the volume rocker is on the left side and the mini USB port is on the bottom along with the headset jack, which are the same actually. The camera is on the back and the microSD expansion slot is behind the battery cover, on the right side. As mentioned before, messaging is the main attraction at this phone. Due to the fact it runs on Windows Mobile 6.1, has Microsoft Direct Push Technology, you can receive and deliver real-time e-mails and you can synchronize with Outlook calendar, contacts via Exchange server and tasks. You can also access POP3 and IMAP e-mail accounts, by just entering your username and password. HTC Snap has something special about its e-maul functionality, little touch of its own, the Inner Circle feature. The main idea lies in the prioritizing your e-mails based on preferences. You can choose a specific group of people, so they will appear top on your list, so you can reply them immediately. It is actually a feature you will just have to practice a bit, because after some uses, you will end up loving it.

A great phone is Nokia E70, a phone that was designed to rival the mobile phone market. Launched on 01/4/2006 E70 support networks GSM 850 / 1800 / 1900 networks. Measuring only 117 x 53 x 22 mm while weighting only 127 g, this item’s size will please its users. Nokia E70 comes with an interesting camera of 2.0 MP / 1600 x 1200 pixels / 8X Zoom / Video Recorder.

<-300×250 Medium Rectangle – center->

If you like to customize your phone you will be happy to know that E70 has included personal profiles.

The range of games included in the Nokia E70 runs on J2ME, having interesting small games to keep you entertained! We believe the Nokia E70 is a fantastic cell phone and we are happy to suggest it to anyone interested in a good phone!

At first glance, the Nokia E70 looks like a modern smart phone. But if you open it, you will find a full keyboard for messaging, which allows quick and easy typing with the thumb, a generous-sized color screen for viewing emails accompanied by attachments, and editing function for constant access to your inbox. Like the Nokia E60 and Nokia E61, Nokia E70 is compatible with a set of common applications of these models, which offers advanced functions for voice and email. Nokia E70 inherits design models 6810, 6820 and 6822.This phone number is improved continuously in time and E70 is the first that has capabilities of a smart phones.

Functions remember phone model E60, the difference between the two is that E70 is equipped with camera, larger storage capacity and uses a different type of card. Until now, this is the only phone E series from Nokia which has a camera. Nokia E70 is a remarkable phone, almost in every aspects, it has a QWERTY keyboard, high resolution screen and complete package in terms of connectivity. And the controversy design and the annoying delay that is produced at the opening and closing the QWERTY keyboard are not enough to create a bad reputation of this phone.

Companies which are smartphones manufacturers are continously improving their products and adding interesting and useful features to the smartphones and it seems that each of them is duplicating what the competitors are doing, but it depends on the quality of the feature implemented. If you already have one and you want to change it, or if you didn’t buy yet a smartphone, here is a short article which will show you how to choose a smartphone.
<-300×250 Medium Rectangle – center->
A very important aspect in choosing the smartphone, is the basic platform, and this means that you must pay attention to the OS implemented on it. Some very well known OS are BlackBerry, Palm, Windows Mobile and Symbian. The iPhone OS or OS X iPhone, which appeared of course, with the release of iPhone, in June 2007, has suffered many upgrades and it is becoming more and more interesting. The majority of the iPhone users love it, though it has some minuses, which are solved as soon as they appear. Despite iPhone’s position on the market, and all the positive things said about it, ChangeWave research company reports that BlackBerry, with it’s RIM, remains the market leader. BlackBerry devices are in the tops for customer satisfaction too, says J.D. Power and Associates. Even if the positions on the market are disputed, the most important thing is that when you choose a smartphone, you should take into account if the OS fits your needs, and if it is created on your user profile. If you want to be connected with your corporation, and being linked with the office is an important consideration, than the best is BlackBerry, and we know this from ChangeWave’s report, which states that 73% of the companies which offer their employees gives them BlackBeryys. Before purchasing a smartphone you should check the email server used by your employer and then make a decision.

Size and shape are the same important as the OS. They come in various shapes and sizes, but further than these design aspects, you should keep an eye on the keyboard, if it has a touchpad/touchscreen and pay attention to the phone’s memory. An attractive, full featured smartphone might work slowly, and this might be a huge inconvenient for you. Aslo, you should check if the smartphone has a slot for a memory card, because it is better to have additional space too, more than the one offered by the manufacturer.

The mobile network is also important when purchasing a smartphone, so you should be informed on which mobile network can the smartphone be used and which are the advantages and the disadvantages of each of them. This also depends on your mobile’s specifications, and if it supports 3G and EDGE or not, and if it is based on SIM (subscriber identity module) card.

You shouldn’t worry about additional sotfware you woud like to install on your smartphone, because there are more than 18,000 third party applications for Windows Mobile OS and for BlackBerry around 3400. For Internet browsing on your smartphone, you should consider a large screen phone with 3G support. These are the basic requirements for a good quality Internet connection and then you should install a good HTML browser. Another connectivity features you should pay attention to are Bluetooth and WiFi. It is true that Bluetooht is present on all smartphones, but you should check the profiles and the capabilities. Some phone support only headsets, while others allow you printing, syncing and more.

Independent of the smartphone you choose, take the following advice: test the phone as much as you can in the trial period!

… and to do that I first have to live in the United States or Canada and enter on the I D YOU website to download the real Caller ID application on my Smartphone.

This application was developed by I D YOU and it’s called Privus Mobile, a service that displays the name and number of the person who’s calling, even if it’s not in your phone book. This way you’ll always be able to identify a phone number and decide whether to answer or block Caller ID code, even if the incoming call is from another country.
Privus Mobile is the world’s first service of its kind and the only one existent at the moment.

“We’re all looking for ways to have more control over whom we talk to and when – it’s the reason we have mobile phones in the first place,” said I D YOU President Greg Smith. “By showing the names of incoming callers – especially those not already loaded in a phone’s contacts – Privus Mobile gives users the power to make more informed decisions about which calls they take.”

The application is supported only by those handsets and service providers that use simultaneous voice and data communication, but the other person that’s calling you doesn’t have to use an enabled handset.
Maybe it sounds like breaking the privacy of users, but I think it’s cool to use it when i need to know who a phone number belongs too.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

After the free 3-day trial period, you will have to subscribe to the service and the amount depends on the cell phone model and the subscription period. For example, a 3-months subscription on a Blackberry costs $24.95, while a 12-months subscription is $89.95. Here is the list of supported handsets.

“People are receiving more and more calls on their wireless phones, and they want to know everyone who’s calling them, but this Caller ID service that was commonplace on home phones just hasn’t been available on wireless phones until Privus,” added Smith. “One of the additional benefits of the service is that Privus Mobile will save the caller’s name and number into your contact list with the push of a button; or automatically if you wish. No more tedious entering names for every new person who calls you – when they call, you’ll get all of their contact information on your display.”
