New Vertu collection announced

I don’t know for sure, but I can always assume that there are many luxury cell phones fans among the readers of this website, so they will most certainly be happy with the news I’m about to share. The well known company called Vertu has just announced a brand new collection that is expected to become available starting next month (August, to be more precise).

The name of the collection is Carbon Fibre Ascent Ti. According to Vertu, the Carbon Fibre is one of the “most coveted modern luxury materials” that are available nowadays in the market. The strength-to-weight material is the result of a very sophisticated design method, which is newly developed, consisting of producing the components of the intricate Carbon Fibre that are needed for the Ascent Ti.

The new collection was all made in England (handcrafted, I mean) and has put to all sorts of tests that were meant “to ensure the optimum amount of fibres and resin”. The mixture has the purpose “to achieve a flawless uniform look on both the flat and curved parts”.

As for the features, it seems that the Carbon Fibre Ascent Ti will come with a 2 inch QVGA display, a 3.15 megapixel camera equipped with LED flash, just like any other Ascent Ti handset, 3G connectivity and an internal memory of 4GB.

The new collection will consist of the following cell phones: the Ascent Ti Carbon Fibre Limited Edition, the Carbon Fibre Grip, the Carbon Fibre and Aluminum Grip and the Carbon Fibre and Copper Grip. As for the prices, they are said to be “available upon request”.

The Ascent Ti Damascus Steel, a new Vertu cell phone

We had Mobiado, with the business cell phones called Grand 350PRL; we also had Gresso, with the Gresso Lady Gold, the phone for her, and the Gresso Ultramarine Gold, aimed at him. And we have now our share of Vertu news, about the Ascent Ti Damascus Steel, the latest handset announced by the division of luxury phone from Nokia.

Being part of the Ascent Ti collection, this cell phone is designed from scratch using the most advanced techniques available today, such as the “ancient steel forging”, which is meant to increase as much as possible the hardness of the metal the phone is made of. Advanced I say, even if it seems that the technique I mentioned earlier isn’t new, as the Samurai swords were always made using it.

As for the features, you shouldn’t expect anything spectacular or different from the other phones of the Ascent Ti family. The Damascus Steel comes with a QVGA display, GSM/UMTS connectivity, the S40 user interface, a 3.2 megapixel camera equipped with LED flash an an internal memory of 4GB, which is quite impressive, especially when compared to other cell phones available right now in the market.

As usual, this new Vertu cell phone will be part of a limited edition, of no more than 100 units. They will all be unique, due to the hand-made swirl design. Unfortunately, the price wasn’t unveiled, but I wouldn’t put my hopes too up. It wil be expensive, there’s no doubt about it.

Vertu Constellation Pure, luxury cell phones with ceramic keypad

I’m sure you’ve all heard about Vertu, which is a subsidiary of Nokia, specialized in manufacturing luxury cell phones for the born rich people from all over the globe. You’ve all heard about it, but I’m not sure how many of you ever had the chance to have a Vertu handset of their own. I, for one, don’t care very much about these expensive handsets, so I’m not very eager to know about the latest trends, but probably you are.

So here we go. Vertu has just announced a brand new line of expensive devices, which is called the Vertu Constellation Pure, a line of luxury cell phones that seem to defy the financial crisis the whole world is facing these days.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The latest Vertu collection comes in four different color versions that include: Pure White, Pure Black, Pure Silver and Pure Chocolate. They are all made of materials like steel, leather and ceramics, but the most important aspect consists of the fact that the keypad and the earpiece are entirely made of ceramic materials. Rumors said that it took approximately two years for the Vertu designers to create this ceramic that looks unbelievably great.

The bad thing is that the company didn’t unveil the list features of this new collection, but we expect them to come at least with the features that the previous Vertu cell phones were equipped with.

Two models of the collection, the White and the Black versions, are expected to become available starting March 1st, while the other two, the Silver and the Chocolate ones, will start selling in sometime in September.

Unfortunately, only 2,500 units of each color will hit the market, under an estimated price of approximately €6,800 (meaning $8,560).

Vertu masterpiece for Boucheron

Hello, my name is Maria and I think I’m luxury cell phones addicted. It must be that, otherwise I don’t understand why I've written so many articles on such devices. Vertu, Bellperre, Mobiado, GoldVish, they were all sources of inspiration in the past couple of weeks for someone who, as a matter of fact, isn’t very much into high-class mobile phones. I mean, come on, the only reason for me to own a cell phone is the fact that I need to communicate with people and to receive the information I need. The last thing I think about is to impress my friends with a gold device that is more expensive than my whole wardrobe and my apartment, also.

But I’m not part of the target segment of such manufacturers, that’s for sure. And for all of you out there who Vertu is addressing to, well, I have some good news. Some might consider it the world’s hottest new phone and an incredible Vertu masterpiece and they might be right.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

If you take a short look to the Vertu Boucheron 150, you’ll find a resemblance with the other luxury mobile phones that are available on the market, meaning the controversial design. This one, for example, it was designed and developed in order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Boucheron, a France-based jewelry house, one of the world’s most appreciated. I don’t know about you, but I don’t really like this handset, probably because gold products make me feel uncomfortable. Anyway, Vertu couldn't care less about my opinion, as I will never afford buying something like this. And even if I did, I actually wouldn’t.

It seems that the phone is made of one single piece of massive gold and since it’s handmade the creation took more than 2000 hours (1000 hours for cutting the unique shape, 700 hours for the hand polish and approximately 500 hours to build). In the given context, I assume there won’t be many handsets available on the market, and Vertu will have to satisfy with a limited edition.

If you think that what you have in the front of your eyes is a Vertu masterpiece, then go for it! Just let me tell you one last thing: the price is still unknown, but rumors say that it will be higher than $30,000.

Say hello to the new Vertu Ascent Ti Ferrari Edition

Usually, if you’re interested in a name like Ferrari and you have the means to purchase such an expensive vehicle, you also have the budget for other luxury handsets, as they go along very well. And if you’re one of these fortunate ones, then you most probably are interested in the new limited edition of high-priced devices launched by Vertu, the British-based manufacturer and retailer of luxury mobile phones. This time, the company teamed up with Ferrari to bring forth the Ascent Ti Collection. The last time we had the chance to witness their collaboration was a year and a half ago, when the Ascent Ferrari 1947 product line was brought to light, which was meant to celebrate the car’s 60th anniversary.

Vertu is Nokia’s subsidiary specializing in luxury phones and has launched the Ti specs on its website. Therefore, the new Ferrari Ascent Ti will be available in three colors: Black, Red and Yellow (Nero, Roso and Giallo), all of them having the Ferrari logo embedded. The Vertu “V” logo is complemented by the famous Ferrari Cavallino, that appears on the front and back of the phone. The handset has been manufactured by the same Titanium alloy, forged at 850 degrees, which gives the phone almost infinite sturdiness. In addition, this is the reason why the phone is heavy weight (160 grams including the battery).

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

Following the pattern of other phones made by Vertu, there’s a sapphire crystal mix that is designed to protect the screen, the camera lens and the flash. As for the battery cover, it has been shaped as a Ferrari hood, while the 3D prancing horse emblem has been etched on it. Each handset will be equipped with stainless steel keys and a scratch proof PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition).

In addition, the phone is provided with Ferrari themed features such as engine sounds from the F430 and 612 Scaglietti for ringtones and Ferrari themed wallpapers. Other features of the luxurious phone may include: Bluetooth 2.0, microUSB connection, a 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus and integrated flash, 4 GB internal memory, Vertu Fortress Wireless data synchronization service and WorldMate travel application. The Ascent Ti Ferrari features also quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) support, in addition to UMTS (2100 MHz) support for worldwide connectivity.

The battery is said to provide up to five hours of GSM talk time and three hours for WCDMA, and up to 300 hours of standby time.The handset is to be launched until the end of this year and there is no word on the price yet. But if the standard Ascent Ti model sells for around $6,600, we can certainly expect the Ferrari Ascent Ti collection to cost more than that.
