Virgin Mobile USA has just made an official announcement about the release of two new handsets that are going to hit American market in the near future. They are both manufactured by Kyocera, being called Kyocera X-tc and JAX.

The first one, the Kyocera X-tc is an entry level device that comes equipped with the following features: a QWERTY keyboard that is able to slide out, a QVGA external display (full color) with 262k colors and a resolution of 240x320 pixels, stereo Bluetooth wireless technology, an 1.3 megapixel camera, media player, dedicated music keys, Email (AOL Mail, AIM Mail, Yahoo Mail), Instant Messaging (AIM and Yahoo Messenger), Mobile Web, speakerphone, voice dialing, Facebook Mobile and a microSD card slot for expandable memory.

The phone measures 4.37 x 2.05 x 0.68 inches and weighs 3.89 ounces, providing up to 250 minutes of talk time and up to 200 hours of stand-by time. It seems that the Kyocera X-tc is already available if you’re interested in purchasing it for a price of $99. The great thing is that you won’t be obliged to sign a contract agreement in order to get the phone for this price.

The second device, the JAX, looks quite familiar, at first glance. And it’s not wrong to think so, because it’s similar to the Kyocera S1300 that is being sold by Cricket. This one comes with a full color screen, mobile Web, a speakerphone, voice dialing and a display with a resolution of 128x160 pixels.

The phone measures 109 x 44 x 13 millimeters and weighs approximately 2.5 ounces. The battery lasts up to 200 minutes in the talk time mode and up to 8.3 days in the stand-by mode. As for this cell phone, the information about pricing and availability isn’t yet at our disposal.
