The Nokia 6730 classic is expected to start selling in the next couple of weeks “across Vodafone’s global footprint”. This means that customers from several European countries, from African and Asian ones will soon be able to enjoy the benefits brought by this new phone.

All phones that are part of the classic range of devices designed by Nokia are candybars, so the Nokia 6730 is a candybar also. The cell phone is compatible with the Symbian S60 operating system and comes with GPS capabilities which are more advanced than those you can find on other similar devices.

Other features of this new Vodafone mobile phone include quad band GSM connectivity (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), dual band HSDPA (for 900/2100 MHz networks), a 2.2 inch QVGA display, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, Bluetooth connectivity, Nokia Maps, both personal and business email, Mobile Internet, the Vodafone Music Client service and a 1GB microSD card included, for expandable memory.

The device measures 112 x 46 x 12.6 millimeters and weighs 83 grams.

“The Nokia 6730 is a great all-round handset – just as perfect for mobile internet users as for music fans who want to take their tracks with them. Well, we have a piece of fresh news for you as far as the handset is concerned. It seems that Vodafone UK decided to launch the HTC Magic in the near future. To be more precise, the phone is said to hit the market starting May 1st.

If you don’t remember what the Magic will bring, let me refresh your memory: a 3.2 inches QVGA screen, HSDPA, GPS functionality, a 3.2 megapixel camera with no flash, unfortunately, a G1-style trackball.

Rumors say that the phone will cost you nothing (which means it can be yours and all yours for free), if you don’t have anything against signing a 2-year contract agreement. In addition, you’ll have to make up your mind for a data plan offered by Vodafone UK of at least £25 per month.

Starting yesterday, Vodafone customers will receive text messages from those who they choose to follow this way and they will “send text messages to a short code (86444) for their “tweets”, @replies, or to follow someone on the go”. In the first couple of weeks, people will post the SMS updates on Twitter for free.

“We are delighted to be the only operator in the UK today to offer Twitter on SMS to our customers”, said Al Russel, the Head of Vodafone Internet services at Vodafone UK. In addition, he said that “since we made social networks on the move both simple to use and great value, customers have flocked to using these services which have been exploded in popularity”.

And here’s another great thing: if you’re receiving a text message from Twitter to contain a URL, you’ll be able to click on it and access it directly from your handset.

The Sony Ericsson W715 isn’t what people would call a new device, as it’s based on an old cell phone, the W705. This means that you can always consider the W715 the updated version of the previous walkman phone, which was announced at the end of last year, in November.

The new BlackBerry Pearl 8110 Smartphone was launched by Vodafone UK and Research in Motion with the Sat Nav 3D mapping application.

LG has made available the KG375 clamshell at Vodafone.
This GSM dual band phone is designed as the most LG clamshells, with round margins, but this time it is bringing more style.

Coming in silver and black, the KG375 weights 68 grams and measures 85×45x19 mm, with a Li-ion battery of 750mAh.

Apple is finally happy that its strategy of selling the iPhone through only one operator in each country has succeeded.
Vodafone has won for a short period of time by obtaining a restriction order for the rival company that was obligated to stop selling locked iPhones.

Klaus Czerwinski, a spokesperson from T-Mobile was happy to declare:
“We are just happy that our opinion is confirmed that this is legal. We still think it is best for the customer.”
“From the outset, the intention was ensure clarity on the commercial position in the German marketplace. Vodafone does not believe that the pricing model is in the best interests of the German consumer,” added Czerwinski.

Palm Treo 500v is released on the Vodafone mobile network across Europe and comes with the latest Windows Mobile OS.

Palm Treo seems to be building thinner and thinner phones, in this case only 0.65 inches, though the 500v is a little bit wider than its predecessor, having a transflective color screen resolution of 320×240 pixels with a landscape orientation, but no touch-sensitive feature, just a QWERTY keyboard.

With its 2MP camera with 2x digital zoom you can capture pictures at a resolution of 1600×1200 pixels and films at 320×240 pixels, which are the minimum decent expectations from a phone camera these days.
Connection technologies supported are: GSM (900/1800/1900), GPRS class 10 and UMTS (2100).

And there is also the Bluetooth 2.0 support with EDR for stereo headsets.
It has no infrared but a miniUSB port type.
