HTC S740

If you liked the HTC Touch Diamond then you must like the HTC S740 at least the same as the previously launched model. The new cell phone measures 116.3 x 43.4 x 16.3 mm at 140 grams and looks a bit slimmer than the HTC Touch Diamond, but the overall design, especially the back of the handset, inspires a diamond shape.

It is a stylish black cell phone with side sliding QWERTY keyboard and accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, so you to be able to type long messages during online conversations and see images in full landscape mode.

European stores will welcome it next month and by getting such a model you receive access to lots of high-end features like 7.2Mbps download speeds, RSS reader, Google Maps, a built-in high-resolution digital camera of 3.2MP, external VGA camera for video calls, 256MB Flash, 245MB RAM memory, microSD card slot, WLAN 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, FM radio, and up to 380 minutes of talk time.

HTC S740 has a 2.4-inch QVGA display, is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7225 processor of 528MHz speed, and runs on the Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard operating system.
In addition there is the GPS capability, built-in microphone and speaker, music player, and video player.

"Demand for high-performance, smart, mobile devices, continues to see strong growth globally and HTC is well positioned to meet the varying needs of our diverse customer base," commented Dr. Florian Seiche, Vice President of HTC Europe. "The HTC S740 combines a powerful, premium phone with a full slide-out keypad in a compact and sleek form factor. Clearly, one size does not fit all and the S740 will play an important role in expanding our growing portfolio of devices."
