Disassemble Clean BlackBerry Keys
Posted by: CameraPhonesPlaza in BlackBerry
Every now and then dirt, dust gets between your phone’s keys and then it makes it hard for you to type normally. Sticky keys are also awful and you simply can’t clean them completely without a proper disassemble. Luckily, BlackBerry phones can be disassembled and you can remove the entire key pad to give it a proper cleaning.
But once you start removing parts of your phone, you have to be very careful not to break anything, as that could cause serious damage and can lead to further repair and service. After you clean the keys, you put everything back in order and you can use your phone and take advantage of the better typing experience. So, let’s see how to disassemble and clean BlackBerry keys.

First of all, there are some items you need: a small Philips screwdriver, guitar pick, a mild dish soap, small bowl or container, some warm water, sponge or a soft tooth brush if you have one around you don’t use anymore and a paper towel to wipe and dry everything up. Now let’s get started; turn your mobile phone off and remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Insert the guitar pick at the bottom of the phone; more precisely there is a small flap around the bottom that needs to be removed so you can have access to the screws, so you need to insert the pick between the seams until it comes out. But don’t forget to be careful and not use too much pressure, so you don’t break anything. Inside the front of the phone are some tiny screws that need to be removed. Then turn the phone over and remove the tiny screws on the inside of the back of the BlackBerry phone. Get the guitar pick again and slide it down the left side of the phone, removing the small side cover; do the same with the right side. Pull and separate the top and the bottom off the phone. You can now remove the motherboard from inside of the phone and pull out the keyboard. Now that you have removed the keyboard from the phone, you can get to the cleaning process. Pour the mild dish soap in the bowl and fill it with warm water. Put the entire keyboard in the soapy water and in case there is something sticky to the keys or dry, lave them for a couple of minutes until they soak properly. Use the sponge or the tooth brush to wipe down the keys and afterwards just rinse the keypad under cool water and dry it out using a paper towel. To make sure it is completely dry, leave it outside for a couple of hours. It is not recommended to place the wet keyboard inside the phone, as you can do some serious damage. After the keys have dried out, all you have to do is place them inside the phone and assemble everything together. Don’t forget any screws. It is always best to get a container and put every part inside it, so when it is time to reassemble a device, you can be sure you have everything close-by and at the end all installed.

Finally, you will see how clean keys will help improve the typing experience and you will be enjoying them just as you were when you bought the BlackBerry phone.
