Disposable Phone
Posted by: Sierra in Hop-On Wireless

The disposable cell phone made by Hop-On will be brought back after the success at CTIA 2008 in Las Vegas, where the company decided to offer it in a 10,000 European purchase order.
It’s the cheapest cell phone that has ever existed and will be available at just $20 price.
The cost is explained by the fact that this GSM 900/1800 MHz cell phone using Texas Instruments chip sets and Infineon chip sets, doesn’t have an LCD display, but just embedded antenna, 100 phone book entries, speed dial for 90 locations, 12 ring tones, optional GPS module, and multi-language support.
It measures 112 x 46 x 17 mm and is powered by a720 mAh Li-Ion battery that lasts up to 3 hours of talk time and 240 hours in stand-by.
Other features include compatibility with TTY for the hearing impaired, tri-band mode 1900MHz CDMA and a call history of 20 missed, 20 incoming and 10 outgoing calls.
