Anyway, even if looks like a poor camera, it is armed with autofocus, LED flash and a lot of other customizable settings which will give you the opportunity to take great quality images every time. Because the Sony Ericsson W810 is a Walkman cell phone, one of the most important aspects is the internal memory. Even if in standard, it comes with only 20 MB of internal memory, thanks to the Memory Stick Duo Pro card slot you can extend it up to 4 GB, enough space to store your favorite songs, pictures or clips.

For connectivity, this Sony Ericsson Walkman mobile doesn’t come with a lot of features. It includes Bluetooth, Infrared and USB. As we said, the most important feature of this mobile phone is the EDGE support. The Sony Ericsson W810 also supports GSM and GPRS networks, but lacks one of the most common features present on all top-rated handsets: 3G. Because it is not considered a smartphone, it lacks Wi-Fi and GPS. Like all Walkman cell phones, the Sony Ericsson W810 does a great job in terms of sound. The external speaker produces clear sound with a loud volume. Anyway, to listen to high-quality music you need to attach the headphones which you will get with the phone. We all know that there is no other mobile phone with a better sound quality than a Walkman phone. The external speaker is loud and produces clear sounds. If you want some bass boost, simply attach the headphones and you will be amazed. Even if this display is poor, it is capable of supporting 256K colors, so you will receive clear images with a nice quality of colors. The numerical pad, placed below the display, makes me a nice impression. The keys are flat and large, with a nice aspect.

These keys are very responsive so you will be able to write messages very comfortable. Maybe one of the strongest points of this cell phone is the camera. Even if in our days a 2 Megapixel camera looks somehow mediocre, the Nokia 3500 is capable of taking clear photos with a nice image quality at a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. For storing your images, songs or other files, the Nokia 3500 has 8.5 MB of internal memory which, thanks to the microSD card slot, can be extended up to 2 GB. For entertainment, this mobile phone offers you an integrated FM Radio (which allows you to listen to your favorite radio stations), a music player (which supports MP3, MP4, AAC and AAC+ formats) and JAVA support (with this feature you can download a lot of mobile games or applications and run them on this cell phone).

For connectivity, the Nokia 3500 doesn’t offer many solutions. It is a Tri-Band (900 / 1800 / 1900) device and supports GSM, GPRS and EDGE networks. It comes with Bluetooth and miniUSB features for you to be capable to connect with other devices easily. For keeping a good battery life, the Nokia 3500 comes with a standard Li-Ion 820 mAh battery which manages to keep this mobile phone on for almost 3 hours of conversations and up to 280 hours in standby mode. If you are not satisfied by these values, you can buy a secondary battery which will significantly improve the unit’s life. Anyway, for a mid-level mobile phone, we can say that the Nokia 3500 is a powerful handset and having the low price of $99 it certainly is a good choice for you.

Even if the Nokia 5200 doesn’t have the xPress Music feature, it has a pleasant design like all other mobile phones which are equipped with a Music Player. Being a mid-level handset, this Nokia cell phone is designed for people who want to have a mobile phone capable of playing music at a higher level.

As we said, the Nokia 5200 has a pleasant aspect. It comes with a “clamshell” case made of plastic with only 92.4 x 48.2 x 20.7 mm in dimensions. The weight is also impressive. It weighs 104 grams, a great value for a slider phone. The case is available in many combinations of colors, but the standard and the most popular combination is “white and blue”.

This phone comes with a navigation joystick, which works easily, a dedicated camera shutter and a Radio button on the right side and two volume keys (which can be used for zooming in camera mode) on the left side. The front side is occupied by a CSTN display, a joystick, two soft buttons and the usual Call and End keys. On the left of the display a useful dedicated Music Player key is placed which will bring the music player on top by simply pressing it. The numerical pad is great. Even if is made of plastic, it is pleasant to touch and is very responsive. The keys are large and offer a positive feedback when they are pressed so you can write on them comfortably.

The Nokia 5200 comes with a large range of features. For displaying images, it is equipped with a 2.0 inch CSTN display with a native resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and capable of supporting 256K colors. Even if this display has a small resolution, it is capable of showing you images with enough clearance and a good quality of colors. For taking photos, the Nokia 5200 comes equipped with a VGA camera capable of taking photos at a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. Maybe you will think that this camera is too mediocre for this cell phone. Well, this is not true because the Nokia 5200 is not a top-rated mobile phone and having a low price it is not equipped with powerful features. You will see that this cell phone doesn’t make a great impression at connectivity features. The Nokia 5200 is a Dual-Band (GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900) device and even if it lacks 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS, it will offer clear and constant conversations without interruptions. For other connectivity options you have at your disposal GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, Infrared and USB. Maybe one of the most important aspects of a “Music Player” mobile phone is the internal memory. At this chapter, the Nokia 5200 stands proud even if the internal memory has only 5 MB of free space. It is armed with a microSD card slot which will extend the internal memory up to 2 GB. The battery life may be another disappointing aspect of this cell phone. The standard Li-Ion 760 mAh battery is capable of keeping this unit on for almost 3 hours and 10 minutes of conversations and up to 263 hours in standby mode. Being a small capacity battery, we recommend you buy a secondary battery to extend the life of your phone.

Anyway, the Nokia 5200 can be considered like a secondary choice if you don’t have enough money to spend on a Nokia 5300 xPress Music.

Everybody knows that the iPhone has made a great impression on the market attracting the customer’s attention. Launched at CES 2009, the Palm Pre has quickly become a strong rival for the iPhone. Equipped with a multi-touch screen, a physical keyboard, multitasking features and many others, it’s clear why this Palm smartphone is the strongest rival of the iPhone.

In terms of design, the Palm Pre looks very simple. It has a slider case, with rounded edges, painted in a pleasant glossy black. Even if this design and this color gives the phone a business aspect, this Palm smartphone is dedicated for all kinds of users, no matter if they are business people or not. With 100.5 x 59.5 x 16.9 mm in dimensions and 133 grams in weight, this cell phone seems to be a bit too big for a slider handset, but when you hold it in your hands you will notice that it is very comfortable and very practical.

As we said, the Palm Pre comes with a multi-touch display which occupies almost the entire front side, leaving space only for a control button (similar to a trackball). To keep a simple design, the Palm Pre comes with a minimum of external controls. So, on the sides you will find only a Power On / off button, a Mute button, a 3.5 mm jack a volume rocker and a microUSB port. On the back, this Palm smartphone comes with a camera, a flash, a speaker and a removable battery.

Enough about design, let’s talk a bit about technology. As you already know, all top-rated smartphones have a QWERTY keyboard. The Palm Pre comes with a tiny QWERTY keyboard, which will satisfy your writing needs. The small buttons may be a problem for you but if you will practice several days on them, you will be able to write texts easily. You will observe that these keys are very responsive and fell graet to the touch.

The Palm Pre, as we said, comes equipped with a 3.1 inches TFT capacitive touch screen with multi-touch feature. It has a native resolution of 320 x 480 pixels and supports 16 million colors. With the release of the N76, Nokia entered the “slim” mobile phones market having a huge success and being in direct competition with the market symbol: Motorola RAZR.
