Nokia has recently released the Nokia 500 Auto Navigation, a system that takes care of the user's needs while driving. This is the first handsfree dedicated personal navigation device for in-car use and communication that Nokia puts on the market.
The Nokia 500 Auto Navigation features GPS and can act as a Bluetooth handsfree system. Its .3 inch display screen helps in finding the position on the map and also in establishing a route. And this is not all, as the user can browse through his contacts, make and receive calls. The Digital Signal Processing (DSP) provides high audio quality as well.
As any other GPS system, Nokia 500 Auto Navigation provides information on points of interest (hotels, tourist sites, petrol stations). Furthermore, contact details for all the points of interest can be received, as well as directions for reching the wanted destinations.
A Traffic Message Channel Service is also available, providing information of how to avoid traffic jams and approximating time of arrival and distance remaining to drive. The intuitive Nokia interface features a split screen and displays additional information alongside the main screen. The devices can also entertain the user, packing a music player. The user may as well watch videos or pictures, listen to music by means of the car's FM radio.
Nokia 500 Auto Navigation is to be available starting with the fourth quarter at an appealing price tag of 300 euros.
