Infobar 2 and Media Skin
Posted by: Sierra in KDDI
KDDI wanted to come out with something different on the market and their focus on innovation helped in creating three cool concept phones back in 2001, known as info.bar, wearable and rotary.
The Infobar cell phone was released on the market in 2003 influencing the mobile handset design industry.

During 16-20 April, at Fondamenta Jahier Via Solari 37-39 in Milan, Italy, will take place the Japan Design 2008 exhibition hosted by 15 Japanese companies which focus on design innovation.
There, KDDI will showcase Media Skin, the sixth model from the au design project, created by Tokujin Yoshioka and Infobar 2 conceived by Naoto Fukasawa.

Media Skin cell phone is based on surface treatment and special paint which unveiled two textures.
The orange and white colors were made of silicon particles-based paint, while the black color has soft paint with special urethane particles for a relaxed touch feeling.

Infobar 2 is the enhanced version of the well known Infobar cell phone, coming in an innovative design that makes us think of a square candy melting in the mouth.
The technologies used include One-Seg television and Osaifu Keitai electronic wallet.
